Poor Trade Execution and worse Customer Support

The broker is quite bad. I bought an ETF with around 26 million shares in daily volume, and the moment I placed the trade I was already down about $100, at a price the ETF hasn’t traded at in years. On top of that, it’s very hard to contact them, no email support, only chat, and it usually takes at least 40 minutes to reach someone, with very poor service overall.

I gave it one star

I gave it one star. I would give it zero if I could. Worst website I have ever tried. No Customer Service at all. I called Customer Service 10 times over 2 months and never talked with anyone. Their Market Data Survey does not work, therefore you cannot do anything like transfer Money or buy anything or sell anything. Questrade is a conpletetely Failed Website. Even if it starts to work, I do not trust it anymore and will not give them any of my money.

NEW CUSTOMER DISSATISFIED!

I recently transferred my RRSP account from another broker and have become very disappointed with the support from Questrade. Long waits to speak to customer service and unknowlegable staff. once you reach them. I have yet to be introduced to all the services availablen nor the meaning of the various symbols on the site. At this point I have cancelled all further transfers from my current discount broker and if the service does not improve, I will be ending all business with Questrade.

Questrade - No customer service

Just verifying other experience with Questrade customer service. For 3 business days, I've tried contact someone at Questrade by call/email/voicemail/chat for help and/or finish setting up my account. No Answers, No callbacks, No return of chat messages...Nothing! Held funds + no proactive updates — had to chase twice to access my own money

I’m very disappointed with Questrade’s handling of held funds and the lack of communication. A $600 pre-authorized deposit was placed on hold, and I received no proactive notification explaining what was happening. Support told me a release request was created and would take 3–5 business days, but after waiting, the funds still weren’t released.

When I contacted support again about 10 days later, I was told the funds were not released correctly, and they had to submit another request (this time “high priority”) and asked me to wait 1–2 more business days.

Having to repeatedly follow up just to get access to my own cash is unacceptable for a financial institution. Questrade needs better internal processing and basic customer communication (simple status updates would have avoided most of this).

Last year I wrote an excellent and well derserved review for Questrade. Their products and customer service were outstanding.
With regret, I now have found that what was once a superb business has deteriated into one which has lost sight of its key customer base.

Quick fixes such as adding lots of research tools or adding systems which though good are of a minority interst do not grow a business.

Excellent customer service is the key and this has now sadly degraded into very poor service. As to why this has been allowed to happened is unclear.

One thing is certain; offering minority appeal research services do not make up for poor customer service. I have waited hours (yes hours) in trying to speak with a customer service advisor without success.

Wading though endless on line tutorials do not work for specific issues that can be resolved in minutes when speaking with an agent.

There are many excellent competitors emerging in this market. Most / many of whom understand the basics of business - that the customer comes first.

Regretably I am now in the process of moving my trade fro this company.

Worst service - If I could give zero

If I could give zero, I would. I have been with them for 15+years and in the beginning they were actually cared. Now, horrible- worst customer service in both timely and knowledgeable information, communication and processing. Took 5 months to open an account and 3 diff phone calls, with conflicting directions. Now, unable to transfer $$ in, again, no communication, long wait times and incompetence. All together, lost close to 8k in stock growth. And, management does not care - because even they say they will contact you and they are apparently " unavailable" when you call in.

Moved my $$

2nd update: As requested, I sent my ctct info to their feedback email..and response was, they don't respond directly via that email, but I could call or chat for further help. Typically run around and customer service and given how many hours already spent, not worth my time

Support Terribly Understaffed

I really want to like this vendor. The site itself is pretty good as a trading site but apparently only as long as you don't need support. I was transferring from 3 different external accounts to Questrade. Two came through just fine but the third did not so I looked into it on their site. After digging around, there is a place where you can see your transfer requests. There is said "Signature Required". I had alrady signed and submitted so I did so again. Days later, the issue still persists. After and 2.0 hours on the phone, still no answer. Beyond frustrating. Not sure I would recommend Questrade because the support response is so terrible.
Update: 3 months later, Questrade never reached out as their reply indicated. Still struggling with both contacting support and actually getting things resolved.

I would give 0 Stars if I could

I would give 0 Stars if I could. The wait time at Hospital Emergency is shorter than waiting to get hold of someone at Questrade. Here I am on the phone for 1 hour and 17 minutes so far and every 10 minutes or so I hear the message "your current wait time is under 20 minutes" WTF?
I know how slow they are so I had decided to email them about wrong data on stocks I'm following and 3 emails later, I am still waiting for a reply so I decided to call today and I'm still waiting to get someone on the phone but no luck here either😣

This is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

P.S. I expect to get a reply from them telling me how sorry they are and to contact them in private to fix my issue now when they see this review 🥱

Save your time and money invest somewhere else

I would give zero review if I could. Very unprofessional and wasted almost 5 months to move money from my pensions to my Lira accounts. I'm not going to waste my time explaining myself further. They're are terrible and that's enough said. You already had your chance wasting 5 months of my time and missed opportunity to move that money afterwards into precious metals with silvergoldbull. You blew it and now look at the missed opportunity I missed because of you. I'm done with questrade and even deleted my accounts.

Incompetent Customer Service Dept

I wish I could rate 0. The customer service people are incompetent and useless. I have applied for a transfer 6 times (over 1 month) and to date it’s been denied 6 times. What a disgrace of a company! Think twice before investing with them. I wish they would hire English speaking people in their customer service department. But I guess they are too cheap to hire experienced agents.

Problem resolved

My previous problem with Questrade had since resolved itself. The customer service response time should definitely be faster, but that notwithstanding, I have had no problems with Questrade in the short time I've had an open account.

8 years at Questrade, OK, but poor customer service

I’ve been with Questrade for over eight years and appreciate the platform’s functionality and ease of trading stocks, ETFs, and options.

That said, customer service wait times are unacceptable. During the pandemic, waits regularly reached several hours. Sadly, in 2026, these issues persist. Any attempt to resolve problems caused by Questrade—whether incorrect fees or transfer errors—typically involves waiting at least 45 min. to 1h to reach a representative.

While the platform itself is good and 0$ commissions are a welcome feature, the lack of timely customer support significantly undermines the overall experience. Use this platform only if you are comfortable handling issues on your own and waiting a long time when help is needed!

Brutal customer service

This has to be one of the most frustrating organizations to deal with. They clearly have an overseas call center with basic support services and knowledge that is brutally limited to solving customer inquiries. Two months, five chats and six calls later, the same repetitive questions over and over with details that they should have in file and still no resolution, no more information, and I had to argue and beg the last representative 7 times to put me through to a supervisor. Unreal. Pathetic service for an financial and investment institution that is managing your funds. Do not use Questrade unless you want a master class in patience and frustration. It's easy to get an account set up and easy for them to take your funds but good luck getting and support when you need it. P.S. was told a supervisor would call me back at 12pm... Two hours and 7 minutes later... Crickets. Zero faith in this organization who wants the funds, not the inquiries for service or assistance. Time to look elsewhere and advise my friends and family the same.
