Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 277 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the subscription model, finding that services initially perceived as free later required expensive annual payments. People frequently encountered issues with pricing transparency, noting that advertised monthly rates often turned into unexpected yearly charges, and that free trials quickly expired, deactivating their QR codes. Reviewers also reported problems with the payment process, including unexpected auto-renewals and difficulty canceling subscriptions. The website's information was often criticized for being unclear about trial periods and the necessity of paid subscriptions, leading to frustration when QR codes stopped working after printing. Many consumers felt the customer service was unhelpful when trying to resolve these issues.

Misleading subscription practices and no refund options

I created a QR code using Qr Code Creator. During the process, it was not clearly indicated anywhere that I would be entering into an annual subscription. The impression was given that the service was free or at least could be canceled on a monthly basis. Only after completion did it become apparent that I had to pay for a full year immediately. In practice, this subscription offers little added value. When I then wanted to exercise my right of withdrawal, as provided for in the European Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and Belgian legislation (14-day cooling-off period for online purchases), this was refused. The company claims that the service had already been “delivered” because the QR code had been downloaded. This effectively makes it impossible to exercise the right of withdrawal. I even suggested a compromise—for example, converting the annual payment to a monthly payment—but this was also refused. Demand: I request a refund of the full annual subscription and the immediate termination of the contract, as I was not correctly informed about the terms and conditions and my legal right of withdrawal was not respected.

Feels like a scam

Feels like a scam, they let you create codes and don't make it clear (not to me ) that they are not lifelong, quite then they email you 1 week later to tell you to they have expired and then seek to charge you money. Sure there is something in the terms and conditions !! A poor /shady business model!!!

Listen to all of the negative reviews

Listen to all of the negative reviews. I only wish I had seen then before I signed up for this scam. They rely on a shitty AI bot to tell their customers "too bad". They have no options for refunds, and their claim about notifying you prior to charging is false.
I would love to take additional action against them if I could.

Misleading and Expensive

Misleading and Expensive — Be Careful!

I created a QR code with this company thinking it was free and permanent. Nowhere during the creation process did it clearly state that the code would expire in just a few days unless I paid at MINIMUM $133 a year. After I had already printed brochures with their code, they told me the link would stop working in two days unless I subscribed.

This kind of practice feels like a bait-and-switch. Most small business owners, like me, can’t afford to have marketing materials rendered useless by hidden fine print. At the very least, they should be transparent up front about what’s static (permanent) and what’s dynamic (requires ongoing payment).

I’ve since discovered there are many services that let you generate static QR codes for free that never expire. I recommend avoiding this company and using one of those instead. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

No Customer Support. Only AI Chatbot

I recently bought a business that used QR Code Generator for its QR codes and was unable to get into contact with any kind of customer support to access the login information and transfer ownership. The only customer support available is the AI chat bot.

I was left with 500 business cards with a QR code that's no longer valid with no way to renew the account.

Fraudulent Scumbags

Same as everyone else. Zero customer support after cancelling plan but being charged an annual subscription. Their AI Support bot tells me it's too bad. If someone here has a contact email from them, please share it.

The customer service is sucks, Spam

The customer service is sucks ! Especially the team manager from support team call Patrick, they’re massive scammers aims to force to pay then solve anything, no email can contact them until after you chat with that AI bot, when you can’t receive any reset password email from your work email, the only option is to ask you to sign in Google or you sign in your account with password, which you can’t sign in anyway to open a ticket.
Poor system and poor management!
Unresponsive support team as manager with suck attitude!

Do not deal with this company

We received no reminder for the renewal, only received this 1 day after as the credit card had expired and they could not auto renew. We went online to cancel on this day. They say the renewal still has to be paid and no refund!!! Only way to contact is through a bot which does answer your question. They state you receive a reminder before the renewal but we did not receive, very underhand company.

It‘s really frustrating!

It‘s really frustrating!! It was meant to be a free QR code and turned out to stop working after 7 days without the subscription, which wasn’t clear communicated at all. The subscription costs over 160 € per year! What a scam business, shame on you! As a designer working under time pressure I now have to pay this subscription as the flyer is already printed.

QR Codes only last 14 days - not infinite

"Static QR Codes are valid for as long as you want and will never expire." - QR-Code-Generator. After printing 500 business cards with the QR code and 14 days later, the QR Code stops pointing to my website. The only way they let me pint back to my website is by paying a monthly subscription. After doing the math, I realised, it's cheaper to reprint a new batch then to sign up.

HOLY CRAP im mad

HOLY CRAP im mad. Ive used a QR code generator many times. No problems. FREE as it should be.. for simple direct link to Instagram.
I made a QR code, they told me to sign in... i made my QR code, MADE ALL MY BUSINESS CARDS.... and then 14 days later they hold me hostage for $20/month to have my own QR code active..... I just spent money on my business cards to make money cause i need money... now this website is making me throw out all these business cards... total sham. really disappointed. they know exactly what theyre doing. Dont fall for the Dynamic QR code, thats what i found out it is apparently. I just wanted a regular QR code like any other time. They have NO way to contact support unless you purchase. Awful.

It's a scam

It's a scam. Static QR-codes are supposedly free. I thought I made a static one, turned out to be dynamic. You can't tell by the information on the website and afterwards there's no way to make a static one. The only thing you can do is upgrade to PRO. All printed items with the QR-code can go in the bin.
