QR codes work but then stop working even with a subscription. Terrible service.
Dodgy QR codes. No customer service.
Over priced. Avoid Avoid Avoid!
YOU CAN GET YOUR MONEY BACK
for those who have been scammed like me you can absolutely get your money back. explain that the text was too small to see and that there was no final bill price before paying. its a violation of laws at least in Europe. with revelut I got my money back by proving with screenshots everything was really unclear and no final purchase button.
1. EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC)
This law bans misleading business practices.
A company may be violating it if it:
presents pricing in a deceptive way
hides key payment details
creates a false impression of cost
Predatory business
Predatory business. They advertise their service as a free qr code generator, but after a couple days they will email you saying you need to sign up for a membership to keep your qr code valid. They reroute any link you use to go through their website, so even if you print out the qr code they can render it useless. There is also no option to make a plain qr code that won't be rendered void.
If you want a properly free solution, shorten your link using bit.ly and then use QRCode Monkey to make a qr code of the bit.ly link. This will make a qr code that will last forever with a link that can be updated by you at any point in the future.
IF I COULD GIVE MINUS ZERO STARS I WOULD
If I could give 0 I would. My daughter was raising money for a dog charity and wanted to increase the advertising only for the code to discontinue after 2 weeks and then billed £144, she was just trying to do a good deed. No contact details or support just AI bots. Absolute scam and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Very expensive
Very expensive, there are free tools out there and they dont work well
I canceled within the legal 2 week…
I canceled within the legal 2 week period , and asked for a refund.
They don't replay to messages or mails only with ai answers.
Terrible service!!!
Bunch of fraudsters
Thought I was creating a static QR code, but without being told or informed apparently I've created a "Dynamic" one, which they charge for. I needed it for a uni assignment and have been forced into either paying or failing.
Tried contacting someone to complain/ get help. All they've got is some second-rate AI bot that's absolute crap. They don't have any contact information and don't respond to anything
Don't get suckered in like I was. This site should be closed down
Scammers
Scammers, dirty horrible company.
Avoid. Luckily my bank told them to refund me.
Upfront honesty would be nice
All that people want is upfront transparency. I downloaded my QR Code and spent a bunch of money on business cards with the QR Code on the back. 30 days later, I find the codes don't work anymore and I am being extorted. Unbelievable.
I ate the cost of the cards, found an actual "free" code generator and redid the cards.
There is exactly zero chance of my ever using the services of this company again.
It's a sacm!
It's a sacm!! I wanted to generate a free QR code. After generating and printing flyers I got an e-mail that you have to pay so that the code stays active. Don't make the same mistake!
1 star is too big
1 star is too big. I signed up and cancelled within 7hrs. They advertise a weekly fee BUT charge an annual fee. They don’t advise that. Also do not advise amounts are in US dollars. The QR codes are poor quality and don’t work with iPhones. Refuse a refund or even a discount. Use canva much better quality and better service all round.
Bad experience
They advertise a "free" plan, but it isn’t really free. They allow you to create a dynamic QR code, but after a few days it stops working unless you subscribe. Instead of offering the option to create a static QR code, they push users toward dynamic codes without clearly warning that they will later deactivate them.
Worst of all: no human customer support, and no contact email available. The only way to communicate with them is through a chatbot!
Never was mentioned that the qr code…
Never was mentioned that the qr code would be disabled after a period of time, printed business cards with qr code that are now not working, I’m not mad at the printing company for sure but to this qr code website, just fraudulent
Bitly runs scammy websites
Whatever you do, do not use QR Code Generator from Bitly (qrco.de). It's a scammy company. They put me on an auto renew that I did not ask for, for a site I no longer use, then billed my card over $200. I contacted them within 24 hours, but they refuse to refund. The attitude from them was "go **** yourself".
TONS of options out there from other companies that aren't a bunch of scammer, signing people up for MULTI YEAR auto renewals without permission
Scam -
Generated a ‘free’ code for me which I printed to send to wedding guests. Then a few weeks later the code had been deactivated and could only work if I paid their 150eur annual subscription fee!!
Don't get tricked, it's not free.
This was a very disappointing experience. The service was advertised as free, but it was not. I was charged in USD without clear notice, which made it even more expensive than expected.
It took several days to receive a response from customer support, and when I requested a refund, it was declined with no reasonable solution offered. The pricing and currency were not transparent, and I feel misled by how the service was presented.
I would not recommend this QR code generator due to poor transparency and slow, unhelpful customer support.
I received my refund after my credit card company demanded it. I had mistakenly thought I was being charged monthly instead of yearly. I tried contacting them multiple times, but it took days, and they kept telling me there was nothing they could do once the charge had been made. Obviously, that was a lie. I finally received my refund after two weeks. Otherwise there would a chargeback from my VISA. This company is very deceptive, so please avoid them.
TheUnlawful renewal and extremely poor customer service company renewed my service without…
The company renewed my service without sending any prior email or clear notification, which goes against EU consumer protection law requiring transparency and informed consent for subscription renewals.
When I contacted customer service, the experience was completely unhelpful. They ignored the lack of notice and relied on generic legal references instead of addressing the real issue. This shows a total lack of customer focus and a business practice that prioritizes profit over fairness.
This behavior is unacceptable and misleading. Based on my experience, this service operates in a way that strongly resembles subscription trap practices, and I would advise others to be extremely cautious before signing up.
Used this website to make a QR code for my wedding invites
Used this website to make a QR code for my wedding invite. Advertised as "free" all the way through. TWO WEEKS LATER they send an email saying my free trial expired. This is after I printed the QR code on my wedding invites and mailed them off.
Unbelievable. Scam company with reprehensible business practices. Hopefully my review helps someone else.
It’s the biggest scam I’ve ever seen
It’s the biggest scam I’ve ever seen! The QR code is „free“ until three days later you get a mail saying you have to pay 163€ or it will get activated. Very convenient to only give an option of annual billing!! I not only already spent money in printing a conference banner with this qr code but also have no other choice of paying this money (of which there was no warning when generating) because I have no time to order a new banner.
I really hope this website gets banned
Have been charged a yearly and monthly…
Have been charged a yearly and monthly subscription charge..noone to contact so have disputed this with merchant bank..do not subscribe to this service
