Unreasonable return policy and misleading reviews

A few years ago I bought a keyboard from PTC and wasn’t happy with it. When I tried to return it, customer service told me they don’t accept returns once the packaging is opened, which I think is unreasonable. I previously left a negative review on ProductReview, and after that I noticed their positive rating suddenly jumped to around 94%, which feels very misleading. Posting the same experience again here on Trustpilot so others are aware.

The Store tried to refuse Refund

The Modbury store tried to refuse a refund for faulty IQ mag car charger. They stated that they only accept returns up to 100 days. I told them this is wrong as in Australia we have the minimum of 12 months for any faulty product that fails to work correctly. They kept going around in circles trying to state its past the 100 days. After around 15 minutes of doing these circles of arguments, and explaining that the ACCC law could fine the company over $1 million, and als fine him personally for over $120,000 for misleading statements on refunds; he eventually gave a full refund.

The most incompetent dealings with a business I've ever had

I've never had a worse experience with a company. I, like a few others, had a booking to have my Pixel 8 repaired in September. When I showed up the business was closed and not answering their phone. There were 2 other people standing outside the door having the exact same issue. I finally got a hold of someone in customer service at head office and they told me it was my fault as they sent me an email saying my part wasn't in stock.
I was confused, hung up and checked my emails and they had actually sent me an email saying "congratulations your part IS in stock". Talk about gaslighting your customer and not admitting fault!
I emailed head office and Jocelyn apologised and said there was a booking error and my part would be in 2-4 weeks time.
6 weeks later I've heard nothing so I email Jocelyn asking for an update. No response. I try 3 times over a 2 week period. No response.
Finally I get the company on the phone and someone books me in for a Wednesday afternoon. I never get email confirmation so call on the day of my appointment as I don't want to waste my time showing up to an empty office again.
I'm glad I called because I'm then told "we don't have a booking for that day".
What the heck?! That's twice someone booked me in and then I'm told my booking doesn't exist.
I then get rebooked for Thursday, but when I ask to confirm the Norwest address (as it can no longer be found on Google), the rep can't provide me with the address anymore.
I've been waiting half an hour for the call back to confirm their own office address of where they just booked me into 😂

I've never come across a less organised, incompetent business. They book people into appointments that don't exist at centres that don't exist.
As they're an official Google service repairer, I will be reporting them to Google.

The worse customer service I've had for a while.

Just the worst experience. I booked my Pixel 9 Pro Fold in 10th of September at PTC Sydney Repair Centre - the offical Google repairer. I arrived just before 9am and the shop was closed. I called and no answer. I then called head office and finally got Jocelyn on the phone. She asked me to wait while they sorted it out. She called me back at just before 10am to tell me that they had made a mistake and no one was coming in today. I said I didn't have time to go back another day and asked if they could arrange a courier to pick up the phone. They said yes. That was almost 5 weeks ago and despite multiple emails nothing has still been done. I ended up contacting google to complain and they have replaced the phone for me. I would strongly recommend against using PTC for anything.

Avoid the Riverlink store !!

Avoid the Riverlink store !!! I took my 6 year old oppo phone in to have the front and back screen fixed. Paid the 300 to fix it. It took 2 weeks to come in then we had the x-cyclone and so my daughter picked it up on the Thursday after the centre reopened after the cyclone. She brought it home for me and put it on charge. On Friday when I returned home, i turned on the phone which had a blank screen. Screen looked lovely, shiny clean, but on turning it on there was nothing, just a black screen. Rang PTC Riverlink and said the screen didn't work. Oh you must have dropped it. NO I said. The girl said bring it in and we will repair it. On the Saturday my daughter took my phone in for me, and they argued that in the less than a day we had it, we had broken the screen, funny as there were no cracks in the screen at all and my daughter loves her iphone 15 and wouldn't use it anyway in the one day she picked it up in, and says she didn't drop it, popped it in her bag, then put it on my bed at home. The girl said they will order in another screen, it will come in thursday. So my daughter left the phone. I sent her down to pick up the phone and they wanted another 250.00 so she rang me and I said no way I'm paying for something we didn't do. There was obviously something wrong with the screen or lcd or something. I had the phone for 6 years without needing to replace a single screen !!! I get it replaced once and they can't do it properly or they think they are just going to rip us off for 550 to place the glass. The phone is 6 years old and only cost me 400 in the first place. So my son rang them and said the screen must have been faulty. A male on the phone went off at him and then hung up on him!!!! This phone company has just ripped us off and left me with no phone, and no information, documents and photos that was on the phone. Avoid these people, they are bad!!!! They are abusive.

I purchased a refurbished phone from…

I purchased a refurbished phone from the Burnside Village Store which was not fit for purpose. The battery failed shortly after purchase and the store has refused to fix despite the phone still being under warranty unless more money has paid. The manager of the store refuses to appropriately engage on the issue despite her conduct being against consumer law.

PTC pacific fair store lady named KAY has some attitude probkem

PTC pacific fair store lady worker named KAY is very rude, very unprofessional and so disrespectful . My dad (70 y/o) was enquiring about a product (car mount) as a present for his granddaughter and so he is asking a few questions, but this lady gave her an attitude, rolled her eyes, sighted , made a gestures put both of her hand on her chin and lean against the display stand while talking to my dad (as if shes super annoyed) and i really didnt appreciate this so i talked to her , she said that is because she was texting someone?! What a lame excuse, That is not an excuse to unpolitely talk to a customer. So disappointed on how she treats my dad. Thankful for the trainee guy named Jack who answers my dad questions respectfully and nicely. That lady Kay shouldnt be working in retail if she has that kind of attitude. Sad to see people who mistreat old people. My dad didnt waste their time , he genuinely both 2 items worth $104.48 yest even if that lady mistreated him.

Broke my phone while repairing screen

I went to these guys to repair my smashed screen. During the repair, they damaged the speaker and I was unable to hear clearly during phone calls. I contacted the store on the same date to advise of the issue. I contacted customer service and requested a refund, which they refused to do. They told me to go to the pac fair store and have the issue repaired, saying they had contacted the store and advised them of my issue. When I arrived at the store, they had no idea what I was talking about. This was such a frustrating way to spend my holiday on the gold coast!

This company is deceitful

This company is deceitful. I took my iPad Air in for repair charging port $188 and deposit $50. They emailed me a quote to an incorrect email address their error. They sent if off to QLD for repair. A couple of weeks in they rang to advise of delay with repair. The iPad was finally ready for collection and they rung me to advise total cost to get my IPad back of approx $480.😱. The delay with repair was likely due to they broke a perfect screen during repair and charging me an additional 350 to replace screen. Their customer service a misnomer as disgusting customer service said I had agreed to repair upon them sending me the email quote. They sent email to incorrect address.

They refused to accept acknowledge any wrong doing and offered a paltry discount of approximately $20. Over a year later and consumer protection being involved I finally got my iPad back paying the initial quote. In the meantime I had brought a new iPad as I refused to be extorted to get my iPad returned.

If I could give 0 star I would. Avoid this company I would.

Replacement screen only lasted 3 months!

I had a screen replaced after my original screen came loose. At the time of the repair I was recommended to buy a specific screen protector, which I did, but within three months the screen had again came loose, but before I could take it in, I dropped it and because 1 corner was sat proud, the screen smashed at that corner. PTC said they could not honour the warranty as it had been dropped, they did offer to give me money towards a new screen, but when I said this was not good enough, all communication from PTC ended.
I now have to go somewhere else to get this issue fixed and a new screen protector, all at my own cost, as PTC would not honour any sort of warranty.

I brought my phone to replace the cracked screen. After they replace it the screen wasn't working at all and I couldn't operate it. I went back so they could replace it. The second time that they fixed, the Apple wallet wasn't working and the phone screen wasn't functioning perfectly. I went to the store and they told me the manager was in the other store. When I got to the other store, the manager shutted the gate. I went back to the main shop and they said that the manager was back on the store. I went back and the place was shut again. They promise me to replace the piece and two months after, they haven't gotten in touch. AVOID THEM, THEY'RE SCAMMERS AND NOT PROFESSIONAL.

AVOID THIS COMPANY-the repair and customer care is abominable

My son, aged 13 , repaired his phone (new front) only for it to last just over 4 weeks. He paid $160 total for the front and a sticker back.
The phone died. I drove a 4 hour round trip to the Cairns Central booth, only to be told that it was likely the motherboard and nothing could be done.
On my way home, I decided to stop at the local store ( I hadn't known it was there when I first got the repair done, or I would've used their services, they are highly professional, CIRCUIT TREE, MAREEBA.) They fixed the issue with the new screen. We called from the store and they informed Jay, who had sent me away from Central only to be told they will not honour a repair or a refund. Upon contacting head office, they refused also as I had got a third party to view it!
So that said, I would avoid this company as they are clearly not doing the right thing by customers because anyone with good customer service skills would offer my child his refund. $160 is a lot for a 13 year to save up and this is clearly a hard lesson to learn, from a company that cares little for their customers.
