These ppl are the worst

These ppl are the worst, lack common sense,
they insist you have a phone so that you can shut if off in front of them.
Instead of literally letting u keep the phone out of the room or not bringing one.
I am starting to understand what ppl mean by culture, I have never agreed or understood but now I understand

Prometric violates the law with impunity. The company hides behind a useless customer call center in India. The testing site would not let a type 1 diabetic take a dedicated blood glucose monitor and alarm into the testing room. The individual had a blood sugar issue. They did not need 911 called, but it could have been much worse.

Ridiculous and unhelpful 'check's

I've had to use this 'service' many times for exams for work certifications. There's always something wrong with the environment you're using but usually it's good enough that the initial person you talk to will allow you to fix it quickly. This last time was not the case, though. The first examiner decided some knick knacks I had next to me in a shelf had to go, so told me to fix it and reconnect. I did, and got connected with a lady who told me it had not been enough with clearing my bottom shelf, now she needed me to empty both shelves, including items that were far from an arm's reach, completely innocent items such as a few Lego cars, video game boxes... She would not budge, she was insisting I had to disconnect, clear the shelves, and come back. I didn't. It was a ridiculous ask, and I kept asking to get put through to my exam. This lasted 35 minutes. Eventually, she asked me if I could cover "the items" with a blanket and finally put me through to the exam. Completely and utterly ridiculous.

By the end, I was so frustrated I did poorly on my exam, failing it by just a couple of questions.

REQUEST: Review of Terminated Prometric Remote Proctoring Session (ASQ CQE) – 28 Feb 26

On 28 Feb 26, I attempted to take my ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) exam through Prometric remote proctoring, but the session was terminated before the exam even started. My setup was straightforward and has worked for multiple ASQ exams: a single 55-inch Samsung Ark monitor on a desk mount (about 66 lbs), an external USB camera, and a fully cleared room. I passed the system check, ID verification, and all required scans. After that, the proctors began demanding actions that are not listed in Prometric’s ProProctor User Guide (v7.4, Sep 2025), including laying the monitor flat on the desk, climbing onto the desk to place the camera on top of the monitor, using “another device,” and retrieving a mirror to prove my equipment. I repeatedly stated in the chat that these were not requirements in the guide and that I was cooperating, but the third proctor laughed, dismissed my concern, and told me to contact the sponsor instead. The interaction was unprofessional and demeaning, and it treated me like I was trying to cheat despite full compliance. This failure cost me my only testing window and created unnecessary stress. I am requesting a full review of the proctor chat and session logs, a no-cost reschedule or authorization to test in person, and a waiver or refund as appropriate, along with corrective action to ensure proctors follow published guidance and treat candidates with basic respect.

I had a terrible experience with the …

I had a terrible experience with the Prometric online exam process(Canada). My exam was scheduled at 11:30 PM, and I joined on time and completed the verification with the proctor. However, after finishing, a new proctor kept joining, and I was forced to repeat the entire verification process again and again.

This happened four times with different proctors. My internet connection was stable, but the system kept resetting my session without any explanation. By the fifth attempt, I was extremely stressed, mentally exhausted, and unable to continue.

This was completely unacceptable and caused me significant frustration and distress. Because of these repeated technical failures, I had to quit the exam and request a refund. I am no longer comfortable taking their online exam and will only consider an in-person exam in the future.

Very disappointing experience. I expected a professional and reliable system, especially for such an important certification exam.

They use AI as of January 13th to make the tests. The CEO is absolutely ruining this company.

My test was scheduled this morning, February 9. I was supposed to take my written cosmetology exam at 8 AM. But due to a facility closure and prometric issue. My facility had to randomly take an entire other full facilities test takers because of one of their issues. I wasn’t able to take my test until 10 AM. Not only was a staff extremely rude and not willing to let me study for an exam I was paying $200 for. But the actual test I took was AI generated. There’s lots of vocab words and different definitions for Hair that I could tell right away. It was an AI trying to understand. Even though passing five different practice tests for the same test and this being my second time after barely failing the first time. I wholeheartedly believe I failed again because of the way the test was written by the AI. The first time I took this test things were written out that made sense and made the procedures and questions difficult but still made sense. Unable to understand. This was absolutely not the case this time on so many different questions. It’s very disappointing to see where AI is taking us. do better.

Paid $80 for a readiness exam the day before my real exam. it was online proctored. My laptop passed the qualification test and then it stated it could not find me a proctor. I used the live chat support and they could not figure it out. there is NO WAY to contact them by phone which is insane. the time slot lapsed and so i never took the exam and I have no idea how to get a refund. customer service is terrible.

Worst Company EVER!

Took a DSST exam on 10/16/25. After a dozen times requesting my exam be sent to my school they still don't have it done. It's been 3 months! This CS is the worst I ever dealt with! I would give zero stars if I could.

Shut down this scam of a company already

I have written 3 exams on 3 different occasions w them and all were a NIGHTMARE. The agents have the THICKEST accent they mumble into the mic and theres so much background noise from other “readiness agents” u can barely hear. The proctors cut the test MID way and mess with the computer and exam. The exam/test takers who are already stressed this is very disturbing, they force reconnection over and over to the point it kicks u out the test and then tell u to contact test sponsor because how can accountability be expected from a company so gross and greedy. Pure scam.

If I could rate this 0 stars

If I could rate this 0 stars, I would. What an awful experience. First, it is not clearly outlined what hardware is needed. If I knew an external webcam or laptop with a built in webcam with Windows or i0S was needed, I would have been prepared. I was taking an AZ Notary OPEN book exam and needed to turn off printers, TV’s, external hard drives, etc., show the check in person my pockets, behind my ears, under my chair, etc. Seriously?! Why? It’s f’n open book! The check in kids were clearly located in another country ( Brazil maybe) and unable to understand the difference in security between what I was taking and a more secure exam. When asked, they said they were doing what needed to be done. It’s unclear if the state of Arizona needs to communicate with the proctors or if the proctors take a one sized fits all approach. Overall, very disappointed. I felt violated and it did affect my test taking ability. I passed the exam. I have a Masters Degree, but was so nervous and upset over the check in process, I almost blew the exam. Think shaking and sweaty hands. Overall, awful experience. I would rather take in person (so old school) than ever go through this horrific experience again.

Extremely unsettling

Like many others, my experience was tough and very negative. I work in a prison environment and what I experienced here with my exam is seriously exaggerated, even compared to what we would expect from real-life secure environments. Prometric is taking the mandate to the extreme. I had to literally empty my office space in order to be allowed to take this exam. This is only the first part. Throughout the exam, the assigned proctor kept sending startling warnings because one finger was in front of my mouth or because I approached the computer monitor to look at a graphic. Prometric needs to do better. Not only are they taking this to the next extreme level of surveillance, but when you actually need them they fail to provide assistance. At the end of my exam, a simple message appeared to tell me the exam was over and the application was automatically shut down in an instant. No nothing to confirm the results were successfully recorded, no support, no email confirmation, nothing. I mean, what is this thing? We need to consider the alternatives out there. I will for sure inform the institution behind my exam about the quality of my experience.

Poor Experience with CBE Booking and Exam Arrangements

I am currently taking the ATT/CTA pathway and my experience booking CBEs has been very disappointing. Communication has been extremely poor, I’ve had to spend hours chasing updates by phone, which adds unnecessary stress and anxiety.
Despite having approved exam arrangements due to my circumstances, these have not been accommodated effectively. This is my second attempt to book my Law exam since October, and the process remains unclear and inefficient.
There is no accessible online booking option for those with special arrangements, which forces reliance on phone calls and makes the process even more difficult. I hope these issues are addressed soon to improve the experience for students in similar situations.

Worst of the Worst!

I can’t figure out how/why the US government contracts this company! It’s the worst possible testing experience anyone can think of! The people who answer the calls somewhere in Malaysia have such bad English pronunciation that communication is hard over the phone. If you ask them to repeat or speak up, they get defensive and rude. On top of that, they do not have accurate information. I called three times over the same issue; the three times the information I was given did not coincide with my test sponsor’s responses. I requested accommodations and submitted all the documentation requested. They never got back to me. I walked into the test center only to find out, seconds before my test, that the accommodation had not been granted. They had the nerve to send me a survey about the accommodations!
I wish the government would not renew the contract with this inefficient, incompetent company.

Poor communication

Poor communication, unprofessional, dismissive, condescending, disrespectful, and stressful. I’ve been fighting with them for months over a service they won’t provide and they refuse to give me a refund. The cherry on the cake, they won’t communicate with me, but when I disputed the charges with my bank, they had zero qualms communicating their refund policy to the bank. Of whom I will also be cancelling services with. Needless to say, it’s not worth working with this company. If what you want to do with your life relies on this company for testing, I’d suggest picking a different profession or preparing for the worst.
