Poor management, customer service, and logistics!
These are just my experiences with Praktiker RO and do not necessarily reflect the story in its entirety. This review is to be taken as a warning for future customers and as constructive feedback for Praktiker.
I was looking to purchase Danke! Texture for my house and decided that Praktiker would be the best choice. At the time, I was unaware of stores such as Hornbach that offer great customer service at lower prices. We did not have enough time because the workers were going to start Monday so we went Sunday to order the paint. Once we found what we wanted, no one could help us. We had to go around looking for employees and finally found someone to help us. Of course, the person that was in charge of coloring the primer was off so we had to color the primer ourselves at home. We went again on Monday to pick up more texture (4 cases, each weighing 25kg). Also on Monday we ordered about $800 worth of texture and they promised to deliver it on Tuesday. We go back on Tuesday in the morning to pick up more texture and wanted to find out when the cargo would be delivered. NO ONE KNEW ANYTHING and the ladies at the customer service were EXTREMELY RUDE. We placed an order for 28 cans before but then we picked up 6 so they only had to deliver 22. I think we spent an hour or so on all the paperwork, signatures, and stamps. What is with all this bureaucracy? WASTE OF TIME! I pay my workers on a daily basis and can not afford to wait for the materials. Okay, we decided to wait and hoped that the 22 containers would come in the time promised (afternoon). Then, I go back on Tuesday to ask them again where the cargo is and no one knew anything! To my surprise, the cargo was not going to be delivered until later. We had no choice but to pay someone that was offering to deliver the cargo 60LEI. This would not have been a problem if Praktiker told me beforehand that they could not deliver the cargo when desired. I would have accepted and moved on. The problem was that Praktiker promised to deliver and DID NOT. Even worse was the fact that employees at Praktiker didn't know and most of all, DID NOT CARE. After the paperwork was approved, I took the cargo outside and had to wait for security to check. DISGUSTING! After all this confusion, Praktiker still does not want to lose anything. I spent another 20 minutes WAITING. Those papers and the cargo were already approved but I had to get that last stamp from security. Praktiker should have offered TO PAY the transportation fee of 60 LEI after I have purchased over $1,500. I did not want to call the manager and argue because that would have taken another hour or so. Not to mention that my workers were at home waiting. I paid 60LEI to deliver and risked my cargo getting stolen when Praktiker could have just told me when they would deliver. NO ONE CARED ABOUT US even though we spent so much money. What really set me off was the attitudes of the employees. After all, they caused the problems! Gave me a headache!
After some time, I go back to return a broken pump that I bought at another Praktiker store. It took around 30 minutes for Praktiker to return around 12 LEI and they needed many approvals and stamps. How much BUREAUCRACY is needed in this country? I have been all over the world and have never seen anything like this before. Like I said before...Praktiker employees are ARROGANT, LAZY, and they seem to DESPISE WORKING.
I decided to give Praktiker another chance so I went back to buy four more Danke containers only to find out that they did not have any prime. That's it! HOW CAN YOU ORDER 40 OR SO CONTAINERS AND NOT HAVE ENOUGH PRIMER FOR EVEN ONE? This is an example of poor management at Praktiker Voluntari. I left the cargo there and went to Hornbach. THIS PUT THE CAP ON EVERYTHING! I will NEVER shop at Praktiker again for all this inconvenience.
I found the same Danke! at a lower price at Hornbach and people there are extremely helpful. It's a pleasure shopping there! Praktiker is not even close to Hornbach and it is not a surprise that they have gone through bankruptcy once. I ask Praktiker to follow the business model of Hornbach and ask other customers NOT TO PURCHASE FROM PRAKTIKER if you want to have a good experience. Hornbach employees are EXTREMELY HELPFUL and NICE. They offer to help all the time! Will only shop at Hornback from now on even though it is far from my house. I do want to mention that people know what Praktiker is doing and how HORRIFIC it is. On the contrary, I have never heard anyone talk negatively about Hornbach. Praktiker owes me at least 100LEI for all the inconvenience it has caused. Unfortunately, I would probably forfeit that 100LEI because Praktiker will probably cause more problems again.
