Poundworld plus has only been open in…

Poundworld plus has only been open in Taunton for a few months and it is very disappointing. It is very understaffed with often a single till operator the only person on the shop floor. The prices on the shelf edges rarely match the price at the till. This boils down to poor management and I get the impression that the staff are only there because it is a job, there is certainly no enthusiasim

Customer Service Issues

The shop and products I have had from the Leicester store have been great (although surprisingly often not £1!) however, customer service leaves a lot to be desired! Employees often complain to each other about the company in front of customers and are reluctant to help if things do not scan or you query the price. One visit I paid with a £20 note and the employee was annoyed and muttered "oh for God's sake what am I supposed to do with that"!!

Not really poundworld

My local store isn’t very well organised and neither are the prices! I also think they should change the name as it is no longer Poundworld and this is very disappointing to see

Price lottery

Since moving more and more away from selling £1 products by increasing more expensive items, have given up on this store as fed up with the lottery of how much I am going to get charged at till.
I used to be a regular shopper at the St Albans store, over recent months have found on a number of occasions items either not priced (when I highlighted a number of missing prices apparently a machine was broke on one occasion) other occasions items apparently moved, I just got fed up in the end and stuck with Poundland next door which although also doing this price change which I don't like as it feels like items that you used to get for £1 not long ago are now £2 in both, I still found it is better structured and clearer.
The simple price structure was a success for a good reason

Poor

You need to know that your store at Deepdale Retail Park Preston is putting the safety of its shoppers at risk.
Today, my family visited the store and noticed a blatant disregard for fire safety.
The fire doors at the rear of the shop were blocked with stored goods and it was impossible to open one of the two doors. The exit route was littered with stock boxes and the outside was the same.
The fire extinguishers were tipped on one side and had clearly not been checked for some time as there was dust collecting on them.

I immediately, informed the store manager of my concerns and showed him the location.
To say he was not interested was an understatement. He said that he was aware of the issues around the fire escape and was trying to clear the backlog. He said he would get around to sorting it out during the day. He then went back to stacking shelves in the shop.

Poundworld should be ashamed of themselves. Your staff are clearly not aware of the consequences of a fire and the need to keep all fire escapes clear and clutter free. There was no way a wheel chair could have ever got out of that building had there been an evacuation.
The manager at this store has a rather alarming cavalier attitude to H&S and should be re trained on customer complaints and H&S responsibilities.

As you are aware the recent fire in London has highlighted how essential fire safety is. Your company clearly does not consider the safety of its customers and staff as a high priority. In view of this I intend to notify the local fire authority and the HSE of these major breaches of basic H&S. My father was a brave firefighter who put his life on the line rescuing people from sites such as yours, which was brought on by the very same attitudes your managers have.

I will never step foot in one of your stores again and if this is the standard of safety you provide then you are asking for a serious incident and the full force of the law to be invoked on you.

Rude staff in the Birchwood store!

Went into the Birchwood store to buy some utility knives - I use them as part of my business and had run out so it was an emergency purchase. The woman on the till commented "I hope you're not going to hurt anyone with these!". I happened to be dressed in a black hooded jacket and I'd thrown a leather waistcoat over the top, and I'm a male with long hair. Evidently this was enough for her to feel justified in judging me as a violent thug! I complained to head office but they said "that's what she's like, she's jokey". I didn't think it was very funny...

Some quality of products were a little dissappointing

My daughter had packed up a mini fan the other day and i was curious to know if it would work or not. So i picked up some batteries and went over to the till. I then requested the sales assistant that if the fan did not work i would not pay for it but she solemnly told i had to pay for the batteries as i opened them. My doubts were certainly true as i predicted the fan did not work at all. I was not suprised as some products they sell are a little of poor quality. I will be continuing shop here

Not great so far.

As far as products go they are very good but that doesn't make up for the fact that after one shop online their delivery is pretty poor.

Placed an order on Monday night for next day delivery (it was past the 1pm cut off so would have expected it today, Wednesday) bearing in mind I paid the extra for express delivery (nearly £6) it actually only got despatched today AND the tracking info shows its on 48hr delivery. So I paid nearly double the standard shipping to get it here sooner and it's actually going to take longer! Spoke to a rep and was told there was a tracking number issue but when I finally did get the tracking number it clearly showed it hadn't been sent until after I queried it 2 days later.

Pretty poor.

Bad Customer Service

Very Bad customer service at East Ham - High Street North66 High Street North,Greater London,E6 2HJ and that too by the assistant manager at the till, bought a bucket and the lady insisted that she cannot provide a bag to fit it in and was no help at all, very dry attitude as if don't care attitude, I still took the bag, fitted the bucket easily and showed to her, and this store also never does refund for ANY product, Mean company, will not shop again.
