Faulty Product – Worst Customer Service Ever

I bought a Poputar from PopuMusic through Kickstarter and it never worked. They replied once with connection instructions that didn’t fix anything, and after that they completely disappeared — no follow-up, no help, no solution.

The product was defective from day one, and the company simply doesn’t stand behind what it sells.

Honestly, avoid PopuMusic at all costs.

(Refund)Piano Purchase

Purchased the piano for my daughters Christmas however another family member had bought a similar item . Contacted customer services and despite the time different from UK to Hongkong my cancellation and refund was provided promptly without hassle within a few working days . On that basis it installs confidence in this company and will potentially buy products in the future .

What a cool device?! Absolutely love it

Such a fun way to learn piano. I was really impressed with all the videos and games and how well they're made. The instructional videos are fun and helpful. They're not too long. They really thought of all the ways to teach you how to play and make it fun and not burden. Little bit of watching and little bit of playing until you get the hang of it. There are truly beginner workouts and some advanced stuff. But those are more like guitar hero advanced though. Not so much piano and how well you play it. There are so many things you can do with this. You can compose your own music. You can loop and play many instruments to compose. My only complaint is that when playing drums, it doesn't let you hit 2 keys at the same time. Such as playing the hi-hat for time, then adding bass and snare drums on it, it inevitably play together. Making you hit 2 at the same time. But it only picks up one. I had to do Hi hat only, then bass only, then share only etc. The app works great. It connects to your device via Bluetooth very easily. Everything works smooth. I'm really impressed. There's no lag between the device and the the piano. Love the colors. It even lights up according to the battery level in green as you can see in one of the pictures. Awesome case. Well protected and portable.

Surprisingly Beautiful and Beginner-Friendly PopuPianoo

The PopuPiano exceeded my expectations in every way. Not only is it incredibly pretty with its design, but it's also remarkably easy for beginners. I was surprised by its quality and functionality. I highly recommend this PopuPiano to anyone starting their musical journey. It's a fantastic choice!

perfect for learning

I bought this piano as a birthday gift for my 6 year old son and he is loving it so far. He showed some interest in piano and bought it so that he can self learn. Downloading app and setting up piano is easy. App is very interactive and easy to navigate. Instructions videos are very useful and easy to follow. Piano itself is compact and it came with nice carry on bag. App goes through series of instructional videos and practices. This piano is perfect for beginner to start learning. Only downside i noticed so far is that it does not work without connecting to popumusic app.

good tiny MIDI CONTROLLER, works with GarageBand and Logic Pro

This is a cute, tiny, midi controller with color changing keys, and does NOT make any sound by itself, it's a controller that can send MIDI signals (over USB-C) to a computer or other MIDI device that will accept an external keyboard. There is a lot to like about it, both from a beginner (the lighted keys), and for stage use to add some flash if a small keyboard is needed (29 keys, 2+ octaves, range a few octaves up or down), plus it's got 7 chord keys that each have 3 variations depending on where you touch them (top/middle/bottom). Keys do not have pressure sensitivity, but do have acceleration detection. Be aware you need a -different- model to expand this kits key range, and the keys are small, not standard size.

Amazing Product!

The PopuPiano is really cool! The app has all these awesome features, like different instrument sounds, music scales, and it even works with pro music-making software like GarageBand. It’s perfect for making music and can totally handle professional-level stuff. Plus, the courses are super beginner-friendly. My kids had never played the piano before, but they were able to play and sing along with the app right away. I definitely recommend giving the "Play and Sing" function a try!

Perfect for Adult Beginner

First, I'm really grateful for the customer support team's help. They answer every single question patiently and politely.

For office workers, if for some reason you are unable to learn piano with digital piano of those famous brand, this is a good option. The popu piano app has lots of fun to explore.

But I will start with something that needs to be improved.

1. I have got some theme color for my keyboard so that the key is not the boring rainbow color all the time. However, in the freeplay mode, the theme color turns back to normal. It would be better if the theme can be kept.

2. the "xiaoxiaole" (sing with the piano), it only allows you to record 1 minute; please make it longer.

3. the price is quite expensive haha

Factors that make I love this smart piano:
1. learning mode: the section contains several modules for beginners to learn; at the end, you will be able to play "kiss the rain" with two hands.

2. freeplay: it allows you to play any music you want with different kinds of musical instruments: from piano to guitar, bass to flute, Chinese guzheng to harp. Also you can set the chord pad with different style of chord so that your music sounds great even if you are not a professional musician.

3. Xiaoxiaole (sing with piano): there are songs that already have chord, you just press the corresponding key on your chord pad (maybe the keyboard itself) and sing. You can also DIY the songs you want to sing if you have sheet music with chords.

Perfect for traveling musicians not interested in the app

The thing I was most concerned about was that I had to use their app. I’ve never once installed it and have full control of the keyboard through GarageBand. I split the screen to read music in a different window. It also can be used with ForScore for basic practice but doesn’t sound as nice. I can’t wait to use it with Ableton. I haven’t tried it yet but my guess is that it will work wonderfully.
The keys feel somewhat small but perfect for on the go. They feel about the same quality as a Yamaha keyboard. Doesn’t feel weighted but will do the job for its size.
It comes with USB to USB-C AND a USB-C to USB-C cord. I thought it was just the one in my video that I recorded but found the other in the box that the speaker came in.

Amazing Product

I really enjoy this little keyboard so much. very fun and easy to use, cute design (how cool is that rainbow color design!! I am so amazed, and when you push the keys down the colors change!!), wifi connects super well, the garage band works well with this MIDI keyboard, and it is so portable and light to carry with (I love the bag/box design too! very fancy and cute)! It is great for adding some flavors to friends' gatherings and any other casual social events. It is good for making music with iPad Garage Band, and I like the songs in their app! In total, I give 10/10! I am in love with it. It is worth the price!

Such a cool MIDI keyboard!! Perfect for me!

I have been looking for a portable MIDI keyboard to bring with me outdoors for almost a year. I tried foldable keyboards and other stuff, and then I found this one! It is the PERFECT one for me! It comes with a small bag, is lightweight, and is so easy to take it anywhere! The coolest part is this one comes with 2 parts of keyboard, you can use either one or two depends on how you want. It is so easy to connect with my macbook music software apps like Mainstage (just use type c cable to connect). It also comes with a good sound quality portable speaker which makes outdoor friends hangout even easier and more fun! It also has all the rainbow colors and it comes with a cool app that everyone can use it to learn how to play a keyboard/piano or even make some music!

Newly favourite

I’ve had this keyboard for a few days now, and it’s become my favourite way to chill. The light-up keys make it ridiculously easy to follow along, even on songs I thought I’d never be able to play. The app connects quickly for me, and I haven’t had any lag worth noticing—everything stays in sync so it actually feels fun to practice.

The volume isn’t super loud, but for home use it’s just right. And when I want it bigger, I plug in my little speaker and it fills the room perfectly. I also like that it’s lightweight enough to move from my desk to the coffee table without any fuss.

At first I thought, “Hmm, kinda pricey,” but I use it all the time now and it’s been so worth it, this is such a chill, low-pressure way to learn.Maybe one day I can play in a family band.

Updated: nice instrument/toy

Updated review: I had some issues with the order and communication with support, but they were resolved.

Pros of the instrument and app (have piano, didn't receive ukulele yet):
- Fun and engaging toy, suitable for busy adults/children who want to relax and play
- Didn't see any paid songs so far in the app, which is a massive plus for me
- The library of songs is okay, most songs have 3 variations (easy/medium/hard) + there's a practice mode which just works for any level

Cons:
- App just freezes sometimes when choosing a song, happens for me every 5-6 songs, so I have to restart the app from time to time
- The library is okay, but don't expect to find most of your favorite songs.
- Support is based in Hong Kong (if I remember correctly), and there's literally no one on-call when you have some issues with payment/order/etc. They send from the US through Amazon, which operates in a different timezone. So, if there is a mistake or you want to make a refund, support can be offline, and Amazon will send you an order before support goes back online. That's my biggest issue with them, so I removed 1 star for that.

Smart instruments with only stupid email support

This company makes smart instruments to aid learning.
I purchased their PopuMusic Populele U1 Smart Ukulele.
The PROBLEM is that this company is located in China, and has NO USA based support.
Their phone number and address are in China, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to SPEAK to any representative; worse, they us AI Bots for Chat, so you are UNABLE to communicate with the company.
I needed a Verification Code to use the instrument, and there was NONE provided, it took about a week, using multiple different stores' "contact seller" emails to get a reply.
With the volume of products they are selling in the United States, it is ridiculous that they do NOT have any US based support contact.
