Courteous, knowledgeable, old fashioned customer service by real people in an actual shop and showroom. I needed some tiny replacement hinges for a bespoke cupboard that means a lot to me, and which they are sourcing specially. These people answer the phone and advise you, if you ring them and they are here helpful when you want a handful of hinges as if you were ordering fitments for a whole house. They sell the most beautiful fittings and the kind of architectural inromongery you can't find anywhere else, at least not in person. Stay for the excellent advice and personalised follow up service. Buy online if you can't get to Clerkenwell but I do highly recommend the shop as a pleasure to visit.

I popped in during the Clerkenwell Design week and had reason to call in again today. The guy was really helpful and knowledgeable.
Not just a 'posh ironmonger' (they have superb fittings that I'm sure grace many a posh Clerkenwell loft!), but also uber-helpful company and people. John went out of his way to help with a problematic lock; way above and beyond expectations, and way beyond the kind of attention to detail than I've experienced elsewhere (and I used to be a carpenter so have dealt with many in the trade!).
