Due to employment changes

Due to employment changes, I’ve had to relocate to Derby and Platinum Estates have been brilliant throughout the whole process!

They are much more helpful than most other agents I’ve dealt with and my move was easy and stress-free. My new home was thoroughly cleaned and the garden was tidy and maintained when I moved in. I also received a lovely welcome pack with wine and chocolates….very happy!!! A perfect new start for me! 👍

Review for Platinum Wills and Simpler…

Review for Platinum Wills and Simpler Law

I have been a client of Platinum Wills since 2006, entrusting them with the storage and management of my will. Recently, I requested the return of my documents and was dismayed by the lack of transparency and consistency in their fee structure. Initially, I was informed of an administration fee of £24, which was not mentioned in their written correspondence. After reluctantly paying this amount, my husband was subsequently asked to pay £35 for the same service, despite our long-term joint client status. Upon querying this discrepancy, the company apologized and adjusted the fee to £25, further highlighting their inconsistent pricing and poor communication. This experience has eroded my trust in both Platinum Wills and Simpler Law, and I cannot recommend their services based on this encounter.

Avoid renting from platinum estates

Avoid renting from platinum estates. Their communication is almost non-existent. They do not respond to emergencies in a timely manner, they really do not care about the properties at all. They will change their bank account and not tell you, then charge you a fee when the payment does not go through. They will write with less than 4 weeks notice that the rent is going up immediately- high rent increases too. They will fabricate work that needed to be done so you don't get your deposit back. They have zero interpersonal skills. I truly cannot believe people leave this estate agent in care of their properties. DO NOT rent from platinum estates. DO NOT allow them to be agents for your property. As a previous tenant I can assure you they do not respond to emergencies eg broken pipes, flooding, broken boilers like they should. They are very shady. I cannot believe they can run a business. I suspect they pass it from family member to family member and that is why the bank account changes so often. Be warned.

Criminals and Scammers: AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Platinum Lettings is not just a bad letting company—they are outright criminals. They engage in identity theft and systematic fraud, preying on unsuspecting tenants and robbing them blind.
Identity Theft: This company is a complete scam. After providing my personal information for a rental application, I discovered unauthorized transactions on my bank account. They had stolen my identity and used my details to make fraudulent charges. This is beyond unethical; it’s criminal behavior. They have no regard for the law or their victims.
Deceptive Practices: Platinum Lettings is a cesspool of lies and deceit. They lured me in with false promises and misleading advertisements. Once they had my personal information, they began a campaign of harassment and extortion. They fabricated charges and demanded payment for services never rendered.
Blatant Theft: These crooks will steal every penny they can from you. They demanded an extortionate deposit and then invented damages and fees to avoid returning it. They charged for non-existent repairs and maintenance, bleeding tenants dry without providing any actual service. Their goal is to take as much money as possible while providing nothing in return.
Unreachable and Unaccountable: Once they have your money and personal information, they disappear. Phone calls go unanswered, emails are ignored, and any attempt to get in touch is met with silence. They operate with complete impunity, knowing full well that they are beyond the reach of their victims.
Hostile and Threatening: On the rare occasion you do get a response, it’s filled with threats and intimidation. They bully tenants into paying fraudulent charges and use scare tactics to keep them quiet. They show no respect or decency, only a ruthless determination to extort as much money as possible.
A Criminal Enterprise: Platinum Lettings is not a legitimate business—they are a criminal enterprise masquerading as a letting company. They commit identity theft, fraud, and extortion on a grand scale. It’s shocking that they are still operating and not behind bars

Super dodgy letting agent!

Super dodgy letting agent!

I contacted them about a flat I had seen on RightMove. The listing already sounded dodgy as it seemed to be encouraging people to give a £400 non-refundable holding fee for the property with just a video tour to watch.
Decided to call to try get an in person viewing as it was cheap rent so felt worth a try. Took 3 calls, a phone message and 2 e-mails to eventually get to the point where I could ask for a viewing. The response I got was "We can't do any in person viewings until the end of the week but just so you know we've had interest from one or two people who are willing to pay the £400 holding fee today even without seeing it in person (don't know why they needed to add that little detail other than to try pressure me to pay), so it's a first come first serve situation". I told them I'm not comfortable paying that without seeing the place so to just get in touch if it's still available at the end of the week.

Next day I'm looking on RightMove again and the same flat has been relisted and the rent is now £50 more than it was before. On the previous listing (which I know has been up for at least a month already), it said the rent had been reduced on the 3rd of January.
Definitely looks like they decided to relist the property at the original rent now that they know someone is interested.

Needless to say even if they get back to me I won't be bothering with them becuase if this is how they are before I'm even a tenant then how bad are they going to be once they have my money?

EDIT: Just went to see what they've done with the original listing and it says LET AGREED. Which is clearly a lie.

Totally avoid this agency🚫⛔️

This housing agency has been the worst I've encountered. The customer service is non-existent, responses to issues are lacking, and communication is abysmal. My advice to the general public: steer clear of this profit-driven agency.

DISCRIMINATION AND RUDE

I requested to view a property in Hucknall and Derby.
Firstly I have a partner and I went to apply for the one in Derby my self it was 670 they ask about my job where I told them lead nursing practitioner & Nurse of ECT yearly 45000 roughly.

They said oh no u can't have anyone more in if u are with someone as u need to split it so I left it

Then I thought I would go for Hucknall and me and my partner will go in for it

They new about my income then I mentioned about my partner in the past used to work 48 hours as a care home manager and team leader but now he has a bad back and fibermger where he has been signed off for life on permanent high rate benefits PIP and uc where it adds up to 2800
They was like the property has gone sorry if people don't work thats not good and efficient for renting with us

This is rude disrespectful people have illnesss. So what does that mean people who work can have property's but benefits can't I will say I wait monthly for my pay on the 28th and with what my partner gets 2 twice weekly of 550 and PIP once a month also the cost of living payments it's better for renting as I have the RISK OF losing The job Or being on Sick as STRESS and Thinga we put up with

Other hand it's constantly coming in with people on that it's DISCRIMINATION TO DECLINE BENEFITS.

Manager Apologised.

Update: I have since received a phone call from the manager Amber. An apology was issued and accepted, and assurances were made around improving customer service interactions going forward.
Previous Review:
I recently had an issue with a leak that unfortunately was not able to be addressed as quickly as I hoped by Platinum Estates. While repairs were eventually completed, I believe there are some areas that could be improved in how customer service cases and communications are handled:

- Responding to customer emails so clients feel informed on the status and next steps. Even a quick note on timelines helps set expectations.

- Showing empathy and understanding when issues inevitably occur. An apology and reassurance goes a long way.

- Tracking contractor scheduling and follow-ups to ensure timely resolution.

- Having robust processes to keep customers in the loop on repair progress.

I know issues can happen in any business, and the leak was eventually fixed. However, attention to the customer service experience could be improved. It has taken a HUGE amount of effort on my part to leave constructive feedback. My experience has been underwhelming to say the least, particularly the response I got from their staff that 'there was nothing to respond to' in my emails contacting them. I provide this feedback in hopes it will lead to enhancements in communication and responsiveness by Platinum Estates, as I'm sure other clients would appreciate that as well.

Totally avoid this company …

Totally avoid this company don’t touch them with a 10foot barge pole
I was a tenant for 2 years and in that time they did nothing to a property I rented there was an old carpet the same all the way through the property which wasn’t even stuck down to the grippers which was a major trip hazard amongst other things they are very keen to take your money every month but will ignore every phone call and email you send them unless it’s something they require from you they will also find any reason to keep your bond/deposit when you leave I could go on and feel like they don’t even deserve a 1 star review DEFINITELY AVOID !!!!

Excellent service for landlords

I’ve been working with Platinum Estates for over seven years now and would recommend to all landlords looking to have their property let quickly and by professional tenants.
We recently received notice by the tenant of one of my properties and the Platinum team impressively let it in under 24 hours of it being listed on the market! The property is now occupied by two doctors who happen to work at the same hospital as me and they directly expressed to me how impressed they were with Platinum’s level of service. Platinum Estates team - thank you for your work over the years.
