Ever since they've updated the app I have only been having issues, technical problems and also tons of messages from scammers

I think there is no control over scammers anymore. There are plenty of services like AFGay.com
where genuine members considerably outnumber con artists. But Planet Romeo is the complete opposite. You have to filter through at least 50-60 scammers to come across one real person. Sometimes it's difficult to say who's who, because scammers are getting pretty resourceful now that they can use AI. So don't put your money and feelings at risk and stay well clear of PR!

The percentage of real users is extremely low. The app is filled with scammers and social misfits

It is absolutely not worth the money! In fact it's not worth a cent. They are completely outplayed by AFGay.com
nowadays but for some reason they still think they have no rivals and they dare to treat paying members like sh*t. They monitor and modify messages, there is a very austere censorship, they want you to reply to all new messages. Actually they act as if they were your boss. So save your money, time and dignity and stay away from them.

PlanetRomeo is absolute trash

PlanetRomeo is absolute trash – dirty, lying scammers. The app is full of bugs, fake profiles and bots, while the admins ban whoever they want for no reason, leaving the sickest people to run wild. Their support doesn’t exist – just useless automated replies, like talking to a wall. Instead of being a place to meet people, it has turned into a circus of chaos and theft. Users lose accounts, data and time, while the company only cares about grabbing money and selling your information. PlanetRomeo is pure garbage and a total disgrace – anyone with common sense should avoid it at all costs.

Dangerous and discriminatory

This is not a dating app. This is a platform that exists solely so people can harass gay people with zero accountability. Random users with no face pics are constantly contacting you, and then PlanetRomeo has the nerve to ban YOUR profile just because they don’t believe your photo is real. What planet do they think they’re living on? Seriously, don’t waste your time with this app — it’s a complete nightmare.

Overall getting worse

#Customer Support
They blocked my profile after I self did submit an issue what I did experience with confirming my new email address.
If I pressed the link it said my email has already been verified. But if for example I like an image I get an error message I can’t because my email address is not verified.
The result after contacting support? They blocked my account. Yes I have to follow instructions to activate my account again (still have to be activated by support, so not automatically after I follows the instruction).
After this I will not continue to pay for a plus account.

#Reporting scam accounts.
They do nothing at all.

#Search and features
They have replaced the classic website with a new website. After many years it still misses many features that we had. Specially on searching. And weirdly the old and never changed iOS App has more search options then the new (WebApp) website. But the classic website has so much more search options. When do we get those back?

#summary
I’m a (planet)Romeo user for more than two decades.
But I’m getting less and less happy. I have supported many times with a paying Plus account.
But after blocking my account this was the last time.
Also did hope on the improvements, eg the features we had in the classic website to get those it back, but nope. Or that iOS app will support the groups. Still didn’t happen.

Riding on previous noteworthy which is dwindling .

They have slowly chipped away all the good features and now the scales have tipped that there aren’t enough other users to bother using it. The search filters are now so minimal that you basically just include EVERYONE. It seems to just be riding out on its previous noteworthy which is dwindling away.

Edititing is a Puzzle. The right way to eject your customers. So sad..

What an user unfriendly app to edit your profile. ! Annoying. It is so incredible old fashion and complicated to edit your profile. The way you have to edit your photos and its navigation belongs in a museum! And it works horribly different or not even half on phone iPad and web. No wonder they go down. A real pity. They are ruïning themselves while it was once the major and Number 1 gay app. Sad.

A disaster. Accomplices of crooks.

A disaster. In Hunqz you continually come across scammers who post images worthy of the Riace Bronzes and who turn out to be anything but, or individuals who just make you waste your time or even try to scam you and sometimes even succeed.
There is the possibility of leaving reviews, those who are reviewed have the possibility of deleting ratings they don't like and blocking you. Why the hell implement a review system, if then one is given the ability to keep only the positive ones (probably false)?? A farce.
The only solution? Create a second profile and leave a review again, obviously as anonimous. He'll still delete it, but not knowing who you are you'll be able to post it again and avoid getting blocked. What happens then? That the reviewed person files a complaint, and always wins since you are not allowed to have multiple profiles (but these scammers often do, for months, go figure). YOU get punished and he goes on with his "business".

In essence the site is an accomplice of these scammers and actively supports them, only for the fact that they pay the subscription.
You'd deserve to get sued. You should be closed permanently!

I am putting one star because that the…

I am putting one star because that the lowest I can go.
PlanetRomeo is an absolute disgrace when it comes to enforcing its own community guidelines. The platform claims to have rules in place to ensure a safe and respectful environment, but this is nothing more than empty marketing. My recent experience has shown that the app’s owners and moderators either don’t care about their users or are completely incompetent at managing their own platform.

I encountered nudes pics from transgenders and female prostitutes (on a gay app!!!) that blatantly violated the app’s policies. I reported these violations multiple times, expecting action to be taken as per their guidelines. To my shock, nothing was done. The content remained visible, and the offenders faced no consequences. This isn’t just negligence—it’s a complete failure of responsibility on the part of the app’s management. And they in fact blocked me from the platform because they have found my reaction disrespectful (or discriminatory) against female prostitutes using gay apps and the like!

It’s clear that PlanetRomeo prioritizes profit over principles. They are more than happy to turn a blind eye to violations if it means keeping users on their platform, no matter how disrespectful or inappropriate their behavior is. This lack of accountability is shameful and shows a total disregard for the trust users place in them.

If the app’s owners have any integrity left, they should be ashamed of themselves for creating a platform where rules mean nothing and user concerns are ignored. Until they take real steps to enforce their policies and address these issues, I strongly advise everyone to avoid this app entirely. There are far better alternatives out there that actually respect their users and uphold basic standards of decency, and common sense!

good evening yesterday from there to…

good evening yesterday from there to you on planetromeo he is a racist named tristan he uploads and deletes my profile without anything happening he has some obsession with me he is very bad and builds me without any because my profile respects all terms and conditions i have not nothing and if my profile is not restored i will move to other agencies and i will tell you that in planetromeo there is someone named tristian who in 2 days uploads and downloads my profile for no reason. I would ask that someone check this person so that they don't do whatever they want with people's profiles. Also if there is no solution to all of this I will inform some friends with many friends on social media and tell about the racism that exists on this particular platform and inform as many people as I can that I will not let all this injustice from tristan play with me the people here at planetromeo. Also yesterday Enrico helped me reset my profile by asking me to take a selfie and write some numbers and so I did. But tristan is obsessed with me sorry but you're going to lose a lot of people and get a lot of downvotes so you're going to let him do what he wants there.

It used to be so good, but now...

I have been a paying member of Romeo almost from the beginning. I still am. It used to be a, feature rich, great site. Then they voluntarily ruined it, for no obvious benefit. As a, now retired, software engineer and IT analyst who has spent a lifetime in IT, I have a pretty good idea how these services work. It is a database. When you create a profile you tick many boxes, or not. All this gets added to the database and is, technically, searchable. You also enter free text and they scan that text and pick out keywords that can also be searched on. For example 'vegetarian'.

The search used to be very good. One of the most useful elements of the search, for me and many others, was the location search. I live in the Netherlands. I would like to find someone for a relationship who is also living in the Netherlands. That is no longer possible. The search works on a radius of 'up to' 100km from where I am based. Then it jumps to 'global'. I live near to Amsterdam. The eastern border of the Netherlands is about 150km from here. So I cannot search the whole of the Netherlands. Even if I could enter 150km, that would also include large parts of the UK. When it jumps to the 'global' setting I get people from all over the world. I am not interested in people living in America or Africa. It used to be possible to search on country and also city. That was dropped a few years ago, with the new style of service. They also present the search results as a single page of randomly arranged profile summaries. There is no option to sort them on any criteria. They also limit the number of search results. Initially it is a small number. Then they tell you to search again for another, overlapping set of results. But if you scroll down the initial results page very quickly, it keeps expanding the list for a while. So you can get a lot more results if you scroll quickly. But once you close the page there is no way to return to that set of results. The location details are optionally entered into your profile. They are stored in the database and can easily be searched on. There is no technical reason why they could not offer a choice of a search based on radius OR a search based on location. They had that search functionality before. So to put that back in would be a fairly simple software change. The only work around is to keep changing my location in my profile so the search radius if based on different points. But this is making ME do the work of the software. Computers are supposed to make life easy. This current design makes me do the work manually. That is a very poorly designed service.

Then there is the message deletion issue. All messages sent and received, once read, are deleted after 7 days. Suppose you message someone today, then they reply after 2 weeks. Your copy of the message you sent has already been deleted. If you have messaged several people, you can be left wondering if you messaged this person some time ago, if so what did you say, or have they just messaged you out of the blue? A 7 day deletion period is just useless. Of course you can choose to email the message history to yourself. But that has two downsides. First of all the service is making me do the work again manually that the software should do for me. Secondly the message history with one person is split over multiple emails. That is a real pain to look back on.

When they redesigned the service a few years ago it seems they tried to create a web based version of grindr. The whole philosophy now seems to be based around instant hookups with local people. Some people only want that. That is great, but they can use grindr. Some people, like myself, actually want to meet someone for a lasting relationship. Romeo no longer caters for us. If and when it happens, it is more by luck than system design or philosophy. I understand the mentality of copying the grindr concept. It is a successful model. But it already exists. If Romeo had simply added that type of service to what they already had, that would have been fine. But they trashed what they had and went all out for local and now....and mostly targeting the young.

I used to love this service. Now it is extremely limited and probably not worth paying for. As you get older it gets harder to meet genuine people. At 67 I don't look for people in their 20s and 30s any more. But even people in their 50s and 60s on Romeo are mostly still looking for younger people. The whole system is based around youth. Once you have moved on from that period of your life, there is not much on Romeo to interest you. The more restrictions they put on how you can use the service, the harder it gets to meet anyone.

Another sad aspect is that they don't listen to feedback from long standing, paying customers. They have decided the market is in instant, local and young. All my comments above will be completely ignored.

This used to be a good site for in…

This used to be a good site for in continental Europe (mainly Germany/Austria/Netherlands) but now it's kind of lost its way. Profile got blocked (or in romeospeak 'rejected') for no apparent reason. Then they make you jump thru hoops to reactivate it. Have also heard dodgy things about what they do with your data... like Booking.com this is a Dutch-based company and they will bilk as much free stuff out of you and then ditch you when not needed. Thumbs down.
