DON'T TRY THE FREE TRIAL! IT'S NOT FREE! I tried to Cancel my free trial after only 2 days, but they still charged me. I tried to reach customer service to explain that I had canceled, but there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Only AI Chats. I tried to follow the steps to request a refund, but since there is no customer service I had to request it through my service provider because they confirmed that the subscription was canceled several days earlier and I had proof. Now I have to wait for a refund and hope that another false charge doesn't happen next week because there is nobody to fix the error on the app to ensure that it cancels correctly this time.
Do not use this app gone from brilliant to appalling
My subscription has disappeared and cannot now use the app. Following the instructions to reinstall is impossible. No way of contacting support just canned AL responses.

Awful. Parts of my app have been broken over a month. I've tried so many times to message support but it's just a loop of them asking what's wrong and me sending the video of the issue. Will be looking for a new app once my subscription is done

Not recommended, After over 3 years of satisfactory service, I renewed for a full year in August, then in October they inform me that with my Pro Account, I am only allowed to edit 500 photos now. That is not what I signed up for, they say that I am not entitled to refund any longer and I only had two weeks to do so for a refund. YET THEY change our legal agreement to the services which were to be provided 2 months into the 1 year contracted agreement. Said my only option was to upgrade and pay an additional $150 to Max. Absolutely do not recommend you use them for anything more than the free subscription, to many other quality AI platforms out there now to allow for this company outside of the U.S. to tell me that it is okay to change our contracted agreement. The customer service is no better, if you are ever able to get past the BOT, all each of the actual agents do is kick the can down the road for the next person. Horribly company, they will end up going out of business at this rate.

Worst billing system ever. they have made it so complex i dont understand pro, max and what not. subscribed for something else and when saw invoice it was too much. there customer support makes u wait long enough that u dont need to solve the problem anymore.

Used to be the best photo editing app.. now greed has got the better of them and I feel I've been massively scammed! Having paid for the pro subscription for some time without any warning at all they have totally changed things. You only get 20 picture edits and have to pay over £200 to be able to edit more than this. Such a shame they had to let greed get the better of them. I will be boycotting this app and suggest others do the same. Hopefully the app developers will come to their senses!
Photoroom has NO customer support
My Photoroom Pro subscription has suddenly gone belly up.
1. the edited photo deletes the original photo when downloaded
2. when templates are dropped behind the photographed item the item distorts and cannot be put back to original size.
3. I cannot use the "batch" option despite being a PRO subscriber
4. I have attempted to contacted Photoroom via Chat Help Desk for 5 days in a row and have not received any help to resolve these issues.
5. Therefore I unable to use Photoroom despite having paid a year's subscription and only used it for 4 months.

Quality Decline
The app started off great, but slowly it destroyed the quality of its own features and without notice or offering refunds- they changed the tiers and put "better" options into this new tier with a larger paywall. Sad because the app was once fantastic, I lost trust and faith in the company. With every update, it becomes worse.

Used to be a great app for editing photos for selling online but now without warning I am only allowed a few downloads a week despite paying for a PRO version. I can not run a business having to wait for my allowance to reset! Absolute waste of money now, you have basically taken my money and changed the terms and conditions afterwards without even bothering to tell me. Speechless!

When I paid for the subscription I paid for unlimited exports. Now it has exports limit. This is a hard deal breaking...

What have they done? A once great app ruined by greed and ill thought out 'updates'. The AI background downloads are now limited (but what those limits are is anyone's guess, since they refuse to tell us). Even on the PRO plan you get a weekly limit. All I use this app for is removing backgrounds and replacing with AI. I'm happy to pay for this privilege if they could just be transparent about what I would be paying for. Their customer service is null and void.

I have been a yearly subscriber for several years. Although I have been experiencing more issues with it crashing and performing very poorly with AI prompts such as misspelling and not correcting when prompted as well as adding a photoroom handle to the end of each file name even when opted out. Customer service is basically non existent and is probably run by their crappy AI so do not expect any real help unless you are looking for a new robot friend. My pro plan auto-renewed less than a month ago, and now I am blocked with no warning from access to features that I have always had included and have to pay extra for each generation performed sometimes it take 100 tries to get a usable generation. Greed has destroyed Photoroom. It is unethical to sell a yearly subscription and then change to pay per play (even if they are not usable) AFTER you have already been paid. I would contact support but they obviously don't care about customers after they have your money. Save yourself alot of frustration and avoid Photoroom! I suspect there is a class action suit waiting to happen with these sales tactics. The reviews are accurate this is a bait and switch scam. Not addressing paying customers legitimate complaints is exactly how you get yourself cancelled. It will be hard to attract new customers when they can see all these reviews from long term paying customers that are rightfully angry. Work on customer retention and making the product work properly first, this has to be the most poorly planned model shift ever attempted. Did they really think nobody would say anything. Maybe ask AI how to stop all the bad reviews and then listen to it's advice.

Awful! Paid for the year for Pro version with unlimited downloads now they placed a limit of ridiculous 20 downloads a week! Forcing you to pay extra for a better version. What a sneaky move! Stay away if you can.

Bait and switch! I paid in advance for a year of unlimited editing and downloads (pro version), and now without warning they have a pathetic limit of 20 downloads a week. The AI background generation is mediocre and often often adds body parts and strange outlines to the subject. This app used to be easy and quick, making great new backgrounds in little time. Now I find myself having to spend half an hour just to get one good background for my photo- it's a huge time waster and not worth what they now charge.

Possibly the worst customer service experience ever. No live on line support only robots, takes at least a day to reply ,if you get a reply!. Continuous problems with billing and subscription levels. If you do get a reply, the customer service staff do not know how to solve the problem and you are back to square 1 again. This has been over 1 month and still not resolved! The web app knows im in indonesia at the Pro max plan is 999,000IDR it will not let me upgrade to pro or pro max, the iphone app is wanting to charge me $349 and im living and working in indonesia and not using a VPN. Worst service ever... Anyone know a work around like an alternative app ?

I paid for PhotoRoom specifically to use features like the Virtual Model and Product Staging. These tools were clearly advertised and essential for my work.
Shortly after subscribing, these features were silently removed from my account — no notice, no option to opt back in, and no refund. Support just says they’re “testing availability,” but I paid for full access.
This is extremely misleading and unacceptable. I paid for functionality that was intentionally taken away. If features are unstable or limited, that should be clear before payment — not after.
I do not recommend paying for this app unless you’re okay with losing access to what you already paid for.
