I had a deeply disappointing experience with this agency, particularly in how my tenancy was handled by Gitit Taylor.
When I moved into the flat, it appeared superficially clean — but in reality, it wasn’t. Under the bed I found cigarette butts and used pregnancy tests (I have photos). The carpet was extremely dirty and stained. I had to clean it every day using a carpet washer, which eventually broke from overuse. The water came out black at first and remained yellow even after dozens of washes.
The kitchen and living room floors were dusty, the utility cupboard had accumulated grime, the electric hob was encrusted with dirt (which I had to scrape off myself), and the sink drain was blocked — I had to dismantle it to get it working. Several drawers were also broken.
I later found out the previous tenant had reportedly been involved in criminal activity. That may not be the agency’s fault, but the lack of a proper inspection or professional cleaning before my move-in is hard to overlook.
A picture frame that hadn’t been secured to the wall fell on my daughter. I was also not provided with a key to lock the 12th-floor balcony door — a serious safety concern, especially with two small children in the home.
I reported these issues immediately, but almost four months passed without action. Only after mentioning the possibility of a refund did I receive a response.
When I explained that my carpet washer had broken while cleaning the flat, I asked if the agency could help, even just by covering a professional clean. Ms. Taylor told me to rent one myself. When I explained I didn’t have a car and couldn’t transport it, I received no further reply.
Throughout the tenancy, I often felt that my concerns were dismissed. Some comments made to me included:
– “The carpet was cleaner before you moved in”
– “I know you use ChatGPT to write your emails”
– “Don’t worry, I see everything,” referring to a small mark on the wall
She also claimed to “remember everything” about the flat, yet often seemed unfamiliar with key details. This contradiction was frustrating and made communication difficult.
During one conversation, comments were made about a conflict in the Middle East that I found unsettling and out of place in a professional context.
At the end of the tenancy, I requested the official documentation and reference number required to dispute my deposit, but did not receive them despite repeated follow-ups.
And just to address one of the above remarks — yes, I do use ChatGPT to write emails. As a non-native English speaker, I use it to ensure I communicate clearly and respectfully. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, and I found it unprofessional to be mocked for it.
Overall, I felt unsupported and blamed for problems I did not cause.
I would not recommend this agent based on my experience.
