not knowing in advance how pet chips…

not knowing in advance how pet chips work, I was put on this site to call and get my new 5 yr old dog recorded. Guess what - my dog's chip was already in the national database. These people never verified the phone number with the original phone numbers about the dog. The original owner was known to me, and he was upset that he did not get a phone alert from this company nor from the vet facility I took the dog to. no one Called the original owner. Shame on all of them. This is a fake industry, super fake. good luck finding trust.

Awful experience

Awful experience. Signed up for insurance and received it on 01/01/26. Took my cat in for an endoscopy on 01/05/26 because he had been vomiting for almost a week. Pet Partners tells me they won't cover it because he started exhibiting symptoms 12/31/25. Incredibly scummy move. I wish this company nothing but the worst.

Delaying Tactics for payment and final denial of claim

Signed up for Pet Insurance through my Employer. I choose Accident and Illnes Insurance. My dog had a anal glanz infection and later Breast cancer for a total of like $800 dollars. After months of delaying tactics and constantly asking for medical records even when i gave the the Animal Hospital address and detailed bill they finally denied the claim saying the Anal glanz is an exception to there policy and the breast cancer must have been there before i got thew insurance. I involved HR Department from my company and there have been several incidents with delaying until the consumer gives up bothering. This insurance is not worth the time and or money. Bad Insurance.

Muddy Paws review

I took my shitzoo for a bath today. I had been there before with no issues other than our dated equipment, but only $5 which is reasonable. I was the only one in line for bath station. I put my puppy in the tub and tried to adjust the water temperature for over 5 to 10 minutes which i learned later was not adjustable. I felt the water was too hot for my pup and she was very uncomfortable. I brought my own shampoo as the shampoo I used last time was so watered down it would not lather. The dryer was so ancient could not get my pup dry due to the thickness of her coat. In the meantime a couple came in with Two huge dogs. I was trying desperately to finish up cause comments were being made by the couple try to calm their big dogs. I doubt I had been there 20 minutes before a man who was an employee came in and very sternly said what's the problem? He continues to stare me down which made me very uncomfortable. I gathered my stuff and took my wet dog out to pay. The huge dogs waiting were growling and try to break free to get at my dog who was scared to death. I see why they call it muddy Paws, I would just as soon wash my dog in a mud puddle. I will not return. The girl employee was very nice and polite.

Concerned for the Future of PetPartners

I would have given PetPartners 10 stars a few months ago but it would seem they are making some changes that make me a lot less excited to tell my friends to get a policy.

They no longer cover illness for dogs insured after 5yrs of age.

They no longer let you increase coverage should the need arise or should you be able to afford better coverage.

Who knows what other changes have been made. I’m extremely disappointed though because PetPartners was a standout among other heartless pet insurance companies and it seems they are moving towards joining the pack.

What I will say is how thankful I was to have a policy when my dog was diagnosed with Lymphoma.

That said, when I put her SupportCare claim in after she passed they tried to charge me a coinsurance- this does not apply on these claims. It was easily addressed via email but frustrating to deal with while grieving the loss of my sweet girl.

Both of my dogs policies also increased in cost upon renewal. Understandable with our girl with lymphoma, treatments are expensive; but for our other dog, if I put in his same details in the quote tool or act like I am going to make a change in the online portal it shows that his monthly should be less. I feel like I have been penalized for using their insurance.

All that to say, I’m not sure if there is a more customizable/better option on the market currently but I sure hope they don’t continue making negative changes. I am almost feeling guilty for all of the people who signed up based on my positive reviews because it was based on something that no longer exists.

Worst grooming experience ever

ON December 29, 2023, I took my Yorkie Terrier to be groomed. This is the 3rd time each time my puppy come back not looking like my puppy. She very soft and fluffy although she was quite matted I expected them as professionals to try to save as much of her fur as possible, each time she came back with hardly any fur at all. I dont even know that she's my puppy. I give instructions before they take her back and they never follow through. This time was the last straw my puppy is now very sad she's shivering and is not her self. Also each time they charge me at least $30.00 more than the last time. I will NEVER TAKE MY PUPPIES TO THEM FOR GROOMING EVER AGAIN. I wish that I could show you before and after Pictures. I will be going in today to speak to the manager and request a partical refund.

Hi, Gisele - We are sorry that you were unhappy with the AKC grooming experience, however this review platform is for AKC Pet Insurance, a separate company from the AKC. We believe that you contacted AKC customer service and not our company's customer care team and as we have no control over the handling of AKC registration, we unfortunately cannot assist you with your concerns.

Don't bother, they won't cover

Called to initiate coverage after adopting a puppy. CS agent was very rude, telling me that my coverage would not cover any pre existing condition in the puppy. I said I just wanted to start because I was taking her to the vet the next day for a wellness check and wanted to make sure the coverage started (this coverage came "free" with the adoption). She said it would in 24 hours. They actually didn't start it for 48 hours and my puppy ended up having an intestinal parasite, then developing kennel cough, then passing away within a month. They said that because the coverage started "after symptoms" she wouldn't be covered. Such an awful experience for our whole family. This is just another insurance company like US health insurance where their goal is to collect premiums and then deny as much as possible.

Angela is the best

Angela was absolutely amazing. She deserves a raise. She identified a plan that would work perfectly for my dog. She answered every question with a positive and precise response. I have dealt with many customer service representatives and very few compare to her. This experience was one of the best that I have had through a phone call. Thank you so much, Angela.

Top Notch Customer Service

Sydney was wonderful, so polite and professional and an absolute pleasure to speak with. She answered all my questions and provided literally the best customer service I have received in a decade. It is very clear that Petpartners and Sydney are focused on the people they serve.

PetPartners is always there for us

For the second time PetPartners came through in record time with pain-free reimbursement of an expensive medical procedure for Bogie. It is reassuring to know we don't have the extra stress of "can we afford it?" if something happens to our girl.

Caring for a pet with cancer

Pet Partners is truly the best pet insurer you can find. Our Cairn Puppy Mill Rescue girl was recently diagnosed with cancer and we have and will continue to incur significant expenses for her care. Pet Partners has been compassionate, transparent, highly responsive, and true to their word. Each claim was completed and reimbursed within a week of submission. Knowing they will be there to help us through this difficult time is an enormous comfort and will enable us to give her the best possible chance at survival.

I've had policies with two other insurers in the past. In the few instances where I had to submit claims, they were always challenged or denied on the first attempt, required additional information, and took months to resolve. I felt their cumbersome procedures were intentionally designed so that claimants would give up and not pursue reimbursement.
