Buyer beware
I was told by my vet there was no fee beyond the cost of the microchip for registering my dog, but the AI loop that masqueraded as "help" made finding that impossible.
Update: despite the appearance that PetLink has reached out to help, in fact without paying the fees, there is no way to register. Go with a different company.

Verification of Microchip Number Recommendation
Thank you for the ease of placing an order. Only recommendation would be once we gave a particular pet's microchip #, it would be easier to have a link to it and just be able to confirm that the microchip number is correct. Just a suggestion especially with technology today.

When I first tried to order my pets' tags, the checkout page wouldn't let me enter the coupon code from the email. (I re-checked and re-entered it many times, changed letter case, etc. Still requested "valid" code.) More than 24 hours later, it worked as stated and I could place my order.
