I can stay home and get yelled at for free

I have dealt with Petbarn for years. I recently had an experience that was so negative, that any goodwill has evaporated.
I decided to buy my very large (French Mastiff) dog an additional comfy bed. Very large dogs take careful consideration of bed sizes. I researched my choice and placed for (and paid for) my selection as a click and collect on the Petbarn website. I received an email that said my order was ready to collect. I drove into town (about half an hour) and when I tried to collect a teenager told me that "his" store did not carry that brand. The Petbarn website confirmed that the item was stocked at that store and the email said it was ready to collect. The only answer I could get to the discrepancy was that customer service would have called me, but they were very busy. I asked him to give me a refund or a credit I could use to purchase an alternate product. He told me that the online website was a different company (somehow also named pet barn) and I would have to call them to get a refund. I asked if he could arrange to have the product shipped to me. He said he was too busy. I asked if I could speak with the manager. He told me that he was the manager and everything he said was final. I thought speaking to an adult might have led to a resolution. He started shouting that I was wasting his time.

It took me about half an hour to drive to the store, half an hour to drive home and about another half hour to get customer service on the phone. I wasted an hour and a half of my time. I am 68 years old and was yelled at in an abusive and threatening manner by a teenager. This is a textbook case in poor customer service and has cast a shadow over any previous positive experience with the customer. I still do not have my money back.

Disappointing PetBarn to your once loyal customers

I have shopped with PetBarn for 5 years. I recently had to go to shopping on the online rather than store due to a medical condition . This is where you have lost me PetBarn . Your site is so hard to navigate I have to scroll down so many pages because your searches aren’t working most of the time when I’m looking for my products. You waste so much time to only be told after trying hard to find your items you are told right at the end it’s out of stock!!! It’s so frustrating and not a normal site for this day in age. Three times I have had to call your help centre when my online account was not working and another one time when it charged me twice for goods. Your customer service team told me to try repeat delivery when I called with all the problems which I have tried - half the time I don’t receive my stock the last one I got 2 deliveries 2 days apart because the first was so delayed!!. The prices I’m charged are not the correct price with discount and I’m now having to waste more time in disputing and being told no it’s correct price. You seem to be ripping off customers the online price is far less in stores people need to be aware. But don’t try and buy anything on line because it will take you an hour and then when you get to check out it’s not in stock.
after so much errors I have now gone to petcircle easier to navigate the site remembers my last order which is great and I get my items on time and it’s actually cheaper than all the gimmicks PetBarn play. There are also hiding vouchers from customers with a loyalty program that makes no sense and you have to apparently ‘activate’ on your account, how convenient PetBarn you don’t make it easy and it’s right at the bottom of the page to activate the voucher which no one would even see! PetBarn you lost me why do you make it all so hard??? In this day in age in all websites vouchers and discounts are automatic to reward your loyal customers not hide them and be sneaky like PetBarn does. The store manager where I used to shop and was at my wits end when I called (because your help centre was no help at all and he sounded like he couldn’t give any regard to any feedback or to actually help a valuable customer ) said yep we hear about this all the time from customers but head office don’t listen to us or bother fixing any problems, her suggestion came back and shop in store it’s much easier. Well unfortunately I can’t but I did find a better solution - petcircle
Maybe listen to your staff and try and shop on your own site to see the problems and try to keep track of a program that pretends to award vouchers and discounts but hides it from their customers. To have one price for store and another for online. There are hundreds of reviews outlining the same!!! Dishonest PetBarn

PetBarn has not kept up with market and it shows and shown any loyalty to your loyalty customers with clumsy systems and programs that they don’t actually want you to use any of the rewards because it’s not automatic-

Predatory pricing behaviour

The dog food I buy is $175 in store and $100 on your website. This price difference is commonplace from your store and a poor example of how you are clearly taking advantage of the customers who do not know to ask for a the cheaper price. This is not the kind of predatory behaviour i would expect from a major retailer. I have raised with your retail staff a number of times who receive the same complaint on a daily basis. Their response was that 'Head office don't listen to us' and for me to leave an online review. So here it is Head office - stop being an ar5ehole with your pricing. I'll be buying from Pet Circle going forward.

Awful customer service

I have ordered from petbarn a few times now and had no issue. Until one time their Uber delivery person lied about delivering the product and I never received it. I called the store and customer service and was connected to someone name Sophie, who claimed to be the store manager but isn't. They were reluctant to provide any assistance with a very "not my problem" attitude. Absolutely disgusting and I'm never shopping there again.

Very upset

Terrible experience, not only was I treated disrespectfully I will no longer shop here. I contact petbarn via email to report the incident. The only correspondence I had from them was that they requested my mobile number. No apology at all.
I returned a bag of dog food that my boy would not eat.
I was made to feel like a criminal for doing so even though they have a taste guarantee.
The manager of the store was rude, abrupt and disrespectful.

Terrible Customer Service Every Time

Really poor customer service. There's always several staff members floating around on the floor, but never one, "Can I help you at all?"

The last time we went in, we stood in the queue with no one ahead of us -yet waited for 5 mins whilst the cashier just stood there doing his own thing. Had my pets not relied on the purchased products that very day, we'd have walked out. Staff have the laziest disposition and the only message they send to their customers is, "I have no interest in being here today."

I will shop elsewhere from now on because they really don't have the audacity to be that overpriced when their customer service is so poor.

Online ordering with Delivery
I have been regularly using the Online ordering system for my cats food & occassionally other needs. I have used the "same day delivery" a few times now, and today's delivery came within hours of my order. It was left on my doorstep,( where I had asked it to be) along with a lovely note from the Bondi Team. I have also called the Help number twice amd found the people who answered were helpful and kind. I do think the prices are a little high, especially for things like feed bowls,which are widely available,but they do stock a huge variety of foods, many unavailable in supermarkets, and that keeps me returning.

Too overpriced, terrible service with no regard for the customer

Well, Petbarn in Watergardens, Taylors Lakes Victoria has, in the past, always been reliable for my dogs, however top dollar.
Yesterday at about 1.30PM, I decided to top up my dogs' dry feed and liver treats. I got my goods and waited to be service for 10 minutes, without any queue. The inexperienced staff member was chatting up a handsome young man with small-talk, and the other cashier finally services a lady who had been waiting for ages. I had a gym class at Anytime Fitness so I had to leave....I left the 2 items on the cashier's desk and left without the goods. I returned 1 hour 20 minutes later, and the 2 items were still on the cashier desk, so obviously no one had been served there.
I retrieved the goods and got the cashier to scan them...the dry food was absolute top dollar, but I was happy to pay for that. The unpriced liver treats were scaned with $27!!...there was a gasp from another customer and me...I told the inexperienced cashier that that was a terrible price....she knew nothing about prices ..How could I expect her to?....she just said " Well, go to Woolworths"...

Horrible experience!!!!!!!!

Horrible experience!!!!!!!!! the fish died in the bag and so I called the store and asked what can I do to get a refund or new fish and they said bring in the water sample that all well and good but the fish died in the bag within like 15mins after leaving the store so the water is still there water so I think its disgusting customer service we spent about $200 there and the fish that died were 2 $20 fish and no help what so ever.

Warning on repeat order online account

I have an account, where once a fortnight. Petbarn sends me my dogs food. Seems pretty simple no need to navigate their ridiculous web page, only thing is its hit and miss if you get your order, however don't fear they take your money out on time
Excuses you will be given are, A problem occurred with your account (funny the money was taken out)We font have that in stock(yet each time you call, customer service says you do) or you simple don't receive what you have paid for(complaints are never responded to) when you do get your order it is 7-10 days after money is taken from your account and yet they are advertising same day delivery

Terrible website that doesn't work.

Lost half an hour of my life trying to troubleshoot what was happening with someone else's website so I could give them money.

Apparently allowing me to purchase a product from them with money is not something they are interested in.

Other places have worse products for more money that take longer to arrive but i'll still buy from them because petbarn apparently decided a functioning website was not necessary in 2021, during a lockdown. Slow clap.

Amazing Service from Pet Barn Norwood, Adelaide.

This review and rating is my own personal opinion based on my own personal experiences. Other than being a customer I have no association with Pet Barn or their staff. I am simply taking the time to leave a review to tell others of my experience.

Pet Barn Norwood in South Australia is excellent, the assistance you get in store is fantastic. I can not speak highly enough of the care and service that you receive both in store and on the phone. It is lovely to find staff with great product knowledge and pet care knowledge. When my goldfish had babies after many many years Sharon's knowledge on goldfish fry was so helpful and valuable. Jessie seems to go out of his way to help myself and others. I have been to Pet Barn many times over the last few years and have found that the quality of service or staff friendliness has not dropped at all during those visits. I would certainly recommend Pet Barn Norwood to my friends and family.
