Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 35 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people encountered significant problems with trade-in assessments, often having their devices rejected or devalued for alleged damage or claims of not being factory reset. Reviewers expressed frustration and a sense of unfairness, particularly when devices they believed were in excellent condition were given zero value, despite careful preparation and documentation. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with the refund process. A few people reported receiving the full estimated trade-in value and their refunds were processed quickly. These individuals found the process to be straightforward when their device valuation matched the initial estimate.

Complete SCAM of a company

Complete SCAM of a company. Please trust these 1 star reviews and do not use. This company is a disgrace. I purchased a phone from Google specifically with the understanding that the trade-in program was a legitimate and transparent process. PCS wireless are dishonest falsely claiming phones are damaged to devalue trade-ins. This raises serious concerns about the integrity of the google trade-in service.

I traded in my pixel watch 2

I traded in my pixel watch 2 without looking at reviews and while waiting I stumbled on reviews here and it made me very anxious and also to regret my decision. However today I got an email that a refund for full estimated value is approved. So contrary to most of the reviews mine was positive just that it took them more than 5 business days to review and issue the refund(reason could the be black Friday rush). I hope everyone has same experience.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience, traded in perfect condition Pixel 8 Pro, did the factory reset as required and 10 days later PCS Wireless said value is zero as it was not reset. Google say decision is final and I cannot return new phone for refund. Won't be using either again.

Appalling company

Appalling company. Sent in an apple iPhone in absolutely pristine condition as a trade-in for a new Google pixel (on their official site). Have been informed that it has been sent back due to excessive body damage. This seems like a common complaint, so l can safely assume that the damage wasn't caused in transit. Wish l had checked trustpilot before sending but assumed that anything through the Google site would be legit. Will be instigating legal action but in the meantime am informing anyone DO NOT use this company, absolute scam artists!

Terrible Experience

Mixed Experience.

Once a Trade it went without any issues.

Few weeks later I sent in Pixel 6 for Promotional Trade In. Phone valued at £89 + £200 promotional trade it. Clearly declared that the phone is cracked which complies with their Terms and Conditions.

2 Weeks later (after the Window I could return newly purchased headset of course) I get an email that phone was valued at £0 because it has cracks.
Well, yes it does, as reported for the valuation.

I'd understand a decrease in valuation, but this feel like deliberate act of not paying up for the promotional trade in.

Think twice before using Google's promotions...

UPDATE
Reducing to 0 starts after receiving my phone back. I sent it 100% working with screen protector on in an original box with all adaptors. Got phone back in a cardboard box, zero padding on it and a broken SIM Tray... No recourse.

Don't be put off by negative reviews

Just wanted to leave a review of my experience as I was initially a bit worried reading all these reviews, but I've just received confirmation that PCS have inspected the phone and will pay the full quote of £460 for trading in an old iPhone 12 pro. Sent the phone off last week on Monday and received confirmation today, the following Monday, so the whole process has taken 7 days. They were very quick with dispatching the trade in kit too. I will add the phone wasn't in pristine condition, there were a few grazes here and there, although no cracks. Battery health was also below 80% which most companies like Mazuma won't even pay peanuts for. As long as you are honest and accurate with the condition of the phone I don't think will be disappointed. I see a few of these bad reviews stating their phone is in perfect condition, yet Google won't pay them anything for the trade in. I think a few issues with phones can be internal things like LCD screen bruising you wouldn't ordinarily spot yourself until it's given a full inspection, so if you have an older phone it might be worth getting a diagnostic test done first before sending off to PCS. It's definitely worth taking pictures and a video before sending off to prove the condition of the phone before sending incase anything were to happen in transit. Please don't be put off by the bad reviews like I nearly was, it's worth a go for the potential gains. Especially as my phone was only worth about £200 on eBay, £460 can sit nicely in my pocket now thanks to the boosted trade in quote from Google. I will happily use this service again in the future.

I felt it necessary to write this…

I felt it necessary to write this review as there is lots of negativity surrounding this company. My experience has been absolutely fantastic and I cannot fault it whatsoever. Sent off my Pixel 7 as instructed, they inspected it within the timeframe and the money was back in my account the very same day once they had confirmed their evaluation. As another recent customer has said my phone was in good condition also and I was refunded the full valuation of £435.

Easy and quick service

Amazing experience trading in my old Samsung galaxy, 3 years use, for the new Pixel. I was a bit nervous after reading the reviews, but decided to give it a try. Easy and quick process, received my quoted refund in 1 week, definitely recommend!

High BP moment, All is well

Traded in my almost 2 year old pixel 7 for a 9pro. 435£ quoted with Google enhanced trade in.

Took all photos and videos of old phone until packaging done with trade-in kit. Effect of reading all negative reviews here😅.

7 days after phone was posted (5 working days) later got a confirmation today that full trade in value is accepted.

Waiting time was a nightmare. Especially after going through negative reviews. Glad it all worked out for me.

Note: My phone condition was good. Not immaculate.

I worked here two years

I worked here two years the company was terribly manned by an ex police officer who would lie and do anything to manipulate you to get what he wanted out of you and would not stop telling you daily that he was ex police. Very shady trade in process cant go into specifics. woman running google has childish tantrums and meltdowns over nuffing and talks about her colleagues behind there back.

Great experience. FULL payment made as quoted. An easy process from start to finish.

I traded in my pristine condition Pixel 7 Pro (kept in a well protective case, with a screen protector applied from day one). I was offered £540 trade-in value against the purchase of the new Pixel 9 Pro for £999 on 4th November 2024.

When I placing the order, PCS Wireless state that depending on the condition they believe the trade-in is after their assessment...they may offer as low as 75% of the price quoted, in my case that was £405.

The trade-in kit (which arrived a day after my new Pixel 9 Pro was delivered) had step-by-step instructions on how to prepare my Pixel 7 Pro for trade-in.

I sent my Pixel 7 Pro on 6th November 2024, they acknowledged recipient on 8th November 2024. They then confirmed that they would accept my phone for the FULL £540 trade-in value on the 12th November 2024. Payment already showing in my bank account today 13th November 2024, even though they said that it can take up to 15 days.

Great communication from PCS Wireless throughout via email to keep me updated with my trade-in.

Amazing service, I had no problems whatsoever. Very happy experience personally. I'll definitely be using this service again in the future when I buy my next Pixel.

Pristine trade in pixel phone sent back broken by PCS

Was quoted £300+ for my pristine pixel 6 pro. Sent it in as trade in against a new Pixel 9 Pro XL.
Was then told they valued it less than 75% the quoted value so sent it back.
Was broken when it came back, would not turn on no matter what I did.
Google would not help, got some awful call centre worker who just repeated herself for over 40mins and wouldn't put me through to anyone else.
Seems like a scam to sell the phones under the illusion you might get money for your old phone. Really not impressed. Used to get good service from Google. No more it seems.

Appreciate others had a poor experience.
Was expecting my phone to get knocked back due to some technicality but amazed to get the full value as quoted in the Google store, maybe Google are keen for iPhone users to migrate.
All in it took less than a week from posting the phone back to having the tradein visible on my credit card.

Google store scam

I recently bought a Pixel 9 through the Google Store and was sceptical of the high trade-in price offered. I was right to be. After sending off my S22 Samsung in near-mint condition, I was alerted that it was rejected due to 'LCD major damage'. This is not a reflection of the phone I sent at all.

It seems that the whole thing is a scam to boost sales on the Google store, and Google is perfectly fine with that.

Thankfully, I was not reliant on the trade-in value, but if you are to afford your new phone, avoid this scam.

Pleasantly surprised!

Decided to trade in my phone with a cracked screen through Google, as they were offering a very decent value for a "broken" phone, including a £200 bonus (£281 total).

I didn't think much of it, and I thought my trade-in might even be rejected, after reading about so many people's negative experiences with PCS Wireless on Reddit and Trustpilot.

I just received the full credit for my old phone, and it took them about 10-12 days in total to assess and refund. They also sent me an email when they received it, and there was a fairly basic tracking service to track my phone's journey through PCS Wireless's system.

Pleasantly surprised!

Google scam

I logged out and factory reset device twice before sending off and PCS claim the device is not factory reset.. and now rejected my claim.

Wary but pleasantly surprised

I was hesitant to send in my phone since reading all the negative responses here. Expecting the worst, I recorded full diagnostic checks on the phone before packing it showing all components functional.
However, it worked out fine and I got the estimated value for my old pixel 6. Pleasantly surprised.
