I started a 7 day trial, but didn't find anything of quality on the topic I was interested in and tried to cut the trial short to avoid paying for something I didn't like. Unfortunately my repeated attempts have failed and the system still shows me as having an active paid plan:

"Your subscription payment will be taken on 28th Sep 2024"

This is pure fraud!!!!

buying books is easy and they will happily take the money, however getting a refund is more difficult if anyone reads or responds to the emails.

DO NOT sign up for a free trail with this company. They are a con. I was happy to subscribe for a month, then I tried to login and cancel and I am told my account doesn't exist, so I can't cancel, however they have my CC info and are billing me. I wrote to them to explain the issue and ask for my account to be cancelled and I received no response. I have now emailed them again. Again, don't sign up with this company. Also the reviews that have 5 stars on their website are for their supposed location not their company. Total crooks.

When I found out I could not use my credits during the time I had to stop my subscription because of financial problems, it made me very upset that PacktPub didn't respect all the years I had a subscription and cut me off of something I paid for. I had to start a subscription again, when I am struggling financially, just to use something I already paid for. I was very upset of this business process and lost much faith in their mission to provide great service to their customers.

EDIT: PacktPub replied to my comment here and offered to help me with the credits. However, I already started the subscription back up to use them. In the future, I will make a ticket if I lose my subscription and see if they help. I will change my score to 4 because, truly I do love PactPub products so much I pay for subscriptions when I have enough money.

Wonderful resource for someone who is either building skills or reinventing themselves. A subscription provides access to a whole library of technical applicable content for learning, an application. They provide a fully featured web interface from a PC or Mac as well as mobile devices. However, the webinar face is not fully functional for mobile in a few areas parentheses like notes and highlighting.

The company provide a separate reader app, but its utility is limited and frustrating. It is unusable for most content. Use the web interface. It meets your needs.

You can earn credits for permanent acquisition of books or videos as well as purchase them. The e-books and PDFs and code support is excellent if you want to consume the content in those ways.

The fact that you can get a 600 page book or 50 hours of video for a single small credit is amazing.

My one complaint is that sometimes resources are retired. That had been previously purchased. Access to those is removed. When retiring a resource that has been purchased, directly or credits - can we get a heads up to download before removed?

Easy to find books covering my topic of interest and create new reading lists, also super smple to find upcoming releases for topics and frameworks I already have lists for.

Subscription renewal was a breeze.

I like the great variety of books and the content and accessibility of them.
The interface works well as well as the search and AI features.

The website and the content i am reading is very good. I really like the experience and the professional knowledge i find with Packt. Please continue as you do now i am a very pleased customer.

Broad selection of material, zoom needs work

I am reading OpenShift Multi-Cluster (subscription. packtpub. com/book/cloud-and-networking/9781803235288/5) and when using PacktReader on my tablet zooming on images doesn't work very well. They're bigger -- but too big as they don't fit onscreen and not resizeable & pannable. Handling those more flexibly would be a big help.

Having multiple resources to be updated in my field is very helpful. There are many examples and ideas to explore.

For people like me, that considers learning as lifelong path, is incredible good to have access to hundreds of high quality books, very specialized in the topic that is my passion.

Bought a pack via humble bundle and i was unable to download any videos or ebooks. I was met with a one-time screen for downloading but once downloaded the files were named "134265847385.zip" so I had no idea what anything was; when I returned to name me downloads I could not for the life of me find the download links. I did however find additional "buy me" buttons on things I had already purchased.

Also you can't delete your account. It's a scam. They even blocked the word scam in the customer service chat. Now why would you have to do that? :P

I've read multiple programming books and every book was poorly written with many mistakes. The codes contained errors and had to be fixed by experienced developers. I wouldn't waste my time with content from Packt.

The "owned" section on the web won't ever finish loading, so, I cannot check the content I own which basically means, I cannot ever see any of the content I paid for.

Website is absolutely useless and pretty close to plainly be a scam.

I wanted to cancel my subscription, but the 'cancel' button was disabled. So I chose to 'pause' my subscription. After a few months, they enabled my subscription without my consent. As you can see in other reviews, this scam has been going on for years. So it's not a simple technical problem.

Content could actually be ok, but the website experience is so bad it renders it useless. Logs me out everyday, and when I try to log back in, the page just hangs. When I try refreshing or logging in in a different window, I get the same result. Totally useless and for that reason I will be cancelling my subscription after less than a month!

I actually own some of the paperback Packt books, and - sometimes - they have good and useful content. However, the editing quality is very poor, there are frequent typos and errors with code examples and they rarely seem to update.

However, with their sometimes "too good to be true" sales, and the current Humble Data Engineering Bundle, I realised now that buying their ebooks and video courses is a miserable and uancceptable experience. As other reviews have mentioned, the website is abysmal: trying to get the page to load to actually access the titles you have purchased is frequently impossible. Download these as soon as as you've bought them - if you can! Is this a scam, so as to force customers to take a subscription? Quite possibly.

Again, as other reviewers have mentioned, there are frequent drops and download issues, so actually accessing any of the videos is difficult. Their current Humble Bundle seemingly represents excellent value, but I now wish I'd never bought it, due to the terrible experience of trying to use Packt's website.

Summary: awful website, awful company, awful service - occasionally some useful content in their material but absurdly difficult to try and access your purchases. Recommend avoiding like the plague.
