Inexistent support
Inexistent support.
This was the first time I had a question about my employment via Oyster. I called on support and the support person had the guts to close the chat without any answer. 3 days later, no answer even via email.
I am already in talks with my company to switch to a different service.
Apart from the very irregular pay dates, inexistent FAQ, this is very concerning.
Now imagine if this was an emergency or a time sensitiver matter?
If you are a remote worker, with Oyster you are not safe.

Welcoming and Supportive
From the initial contact to the final stages, everyone I interacted with was welcoming and supportive. This created a positive first impression and reinforced my excitement about joining the team.
There were only minor issues
There were no issues, apart from difficulty communicating in initial steps. Other than that it was fine.
Overall
Overall, I got really nothing to complain about except from benefits. I think lower tiers employees should have much better packages for insurances. Instead you are giving them bad packages. With MultiSport its the same. Definitely you could have done much better business model.

very bad explaination about the new healtcare insurance and the reason why we need to change?
Terribly organised company, poor structure and processes
The employee experience has been terrible. As an employee, you expect a HR team to be easily accessible and prompt with answering any questions or requests. There are no specific people as points of contact, you are forced to make a ticket in their "Help Center" for any issue, question or request (big or small). After waiting 2 days, only then someone is assigned your request, who then forwards the request to a relevant 'specialist', wasting another 1 or 2 days. Then any follow up questions related to the initial question take ages again to be answered. Even though I am a full time permanent employee, I felt like a neglected external contractor.
I had a simple question about a bonus clause mentioned in my employment contract, which I received a reply 3 days later: "our opinion is [...], but please clarify this with your lawyers and get the neccessary legal opinion". Oyster is a HR company and wrote and confirmed my employment contract - but they couldn't give me a concrete answer on a simple question about a clause in a contract they wrote!

All was great !!
Just no.
I am writing this review to express my deep frustration regarding the company, support team and ongoing payment issues. It is unacceptable that payments are constantly delayed and that the process does not initiate unless we submit a ticket. Additionally, we have been double-charged on the employee fee even after termination.
We had a meeting with a supposedly high-ranking person and a customer success manager, but instead of addressing the issues with payments, fraud, and refunds, they abruptly decided to cut ties with us. This left us with employees who expected their pay, unresolved issues, pending refunds, and poor, unprofessional replies from your their support team.
We have requested a response explaining their reasoning for this decision, but they have gone radio silent. After so many emails and over a month gone by, they did nothing to resolve it. Their only reply was 'We are looking into the matter and will follow up as soon as we can.' We had to communicate with our bank for help on the chargebacks. DO NOT RECCOMEND.
Feb/27/2025 We are still owed money from this company. Its been months.

Mixed Experience
Strengths
- Provides valuable opportunities for global employment connections
- Enables companies to hire talent internationally
- Handles basic employment operations effectively
Areas for Improvement
- Reliance on local partners in certain countries creates operational complexity
- The four-way communication flow between Oyster, employees, employers, and local partners is often inefficient
- Multi-timezone coordination results in delayed responses and prolonged processes
- Benefits are not accessible
Bottom Line
Despite offering a valuable service in the global employment space, Oyster's communication infrastructure needs significant improvement to deliver a seamless experience for all parties involved.
everything was very easy and quick
Pleasant experience
So far I've had a pleasant experience with Oyster from the employee side. I can't really put my finger on anything that didn't work out nicely.
