Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 128 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Customers frequently complain about extremely slow response times, endless automated chat bots, and completely unhelpful customer support representatives who fail to resolve technical issues. Many users also report terribly unreliable internet service, constantly missed technician appointments, and unexpected billing charges that deeply add to their overall dissatisfaction. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the affordable pricing models and efficient installation processes offered by the provider. Some reviewers were happy with the stable connection speeds and the helpful support team who assisted them during their initial setup phase.

Seems good on paper

Seems good on paper, customer service is lacking. Provided details 2 weeks before move, got the hardware. Didn't work at the time when hooking everything up! Got in touch with customer service and was advised tech will come in the afternoon the following day. Never happened, got a message that the tech is now scheduled to come 3 days from today. Don't waste your time call bell and get a price match. These guys are not reliable.

Customer service is good but with no actual internet and two no show technicians, huge ways of time. Do not get this internet in British Columbia and throughout Canada. Waiting on refund.

When you don't get what you pay for.

The internet service drops for no reason and it can take a few hours before it is restored. When I do a speed test it comes up far below the advertised speeds I am paying for. It's impossible to contact them by internet when my services are down.

The internet was good but what stood out for me was being able to simply reply to a email or text and get a real person. They seem to have a great culture and it's refreshing to get outstanding customer service for a change. Give them a try!!

Excellent service for Niagara region.

My line was connected through their line providers in my area (which is cogeco) and its been excellent service the entire 6 months. I had issues with my finances recently and was late paying and the customer service was extremely helpful and worked things out with me through the chat support.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service, avoid this company. Worth the extra $25 to go with a normal company. Constant service interruptions, customer service is non existent to help. Passive aggressive and no resolutions.

Ok Internet, Garbage Service

Internet is ok for the price. The service however renders this company unusable… They are passive aggressive with no intention to resolve issues or keep loyal customers. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I recently changed to Oxio from Shaw

I recently changed to Oxio from Shaw/Rogers and am more than happy. The service is reliable, fast and easy to set up and use. I had one minor problem which was quickly resolved but their customer service team, so I am happy.

If I could I would rate 0 stars

If I could I would rate 0 stars. I live downtown Calgary and the internet is in and out for hours on end. Currently, it has been 3 hours without internet. They don’t have customer service support that you can call, you have to text. I texted them after an hour that my internet has been out and I still haven’t received a response, after 3 hours. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY, it has been the biggest headache of my life. Every morning around 7:45am, the internet goes out for about 4 hours as well. What am I paying for?? Anyways, long story short, the worst company to deal with, they will not respond to you.

Awful connection, inadequate equipment

Sign up was easy, they shipped the hardware fast, soon after receiving the hardware I got a message says ng they were ready to go so I hooked everything up and it didn't work. Connection was constantly going down, contacted support to tell them something is wrong and they insist it's the line... The line that my current shaw connection also uses and has zero issues.

Secondly they supplied a terrible router. I signed up for a gigabit connection and they give me a router that has one LAN port and outputs wifi at 150-200 megabit speeds max. I pointed this out to them and they brushed it off. All this happened a week before my contract with Shaw was set to expire so I sent it all back and stuck with my Shaw service which is a 500 megabit service and the supplied router typically outputs 520 megabit speeds over wifi.

The worst internet provider in Canada is oxio.

Sad to report that oxio has terrible internet connection, they had dozens of internet disconnections per day )

And they have the worst customer service, especially jayden he intentionally made answering the most basic of questions as painful as he or she possibly could.

Also, they really complicate their billing, including the hook up fees ( which are hidden by the way, they hide the fact that you actually are dinged quite severely for a hookup charge, when they say that their hookup has no fee )

they charged me for service that i never received and they won't refund me.

i wanted to go with a provider with no contract so oxio seemed like a good choice but it was not. don't let their marketing fool you. they took so long to ship the kit, meanwhile they activated my connection which means they started charging me when i haven't even received the router. turns out they didn't have connection in my area which is a relatively newly developed community. they charged me for service that i never received and they won't refund me. they said they don't refund regardless of no usage.

The WORST service (non existent)

Just don't do it, waited 30days to be connected, let them know the whole time (no one cared) amazingly on day 30 after telling them to cancel I was suddenly connected. Too late, I've already contacted another company! Oxio is the worst company ever, just don't do it.

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE!

Do not get oxio! They accidentally canceled our wifi shortly after we set it up and it has been over a week and we still do not have our wifi back up yet. Plus they are making us pay for the time we have not had wifi. They just took $48 out of my account while I am having to pay to use my phone data to message them on email since they have no phone number.

DO NOT USE!

Over promise and under deliver!

I was hoping for a 'passable' internet service provider without a contract because we were already under contract with Telus for my husband's account (who is terminally ill living in a care facility) so eventually I will need to take over his contract when the inevitable happens.

Big mistake!! Oxio sends a 'Rogers' technician to connect my service and he decides that there is a problem with the building because it's new construction. He says that he will send a repair man to sort it out the next day, and that's the last I ever hear from him....so no internet.

Long story short I'm trying to get Oxio to cancel my account because I have not been able to get connected to their service. Simple...yes? No!! They are insisting on 'verifying my identity' through ridiculous means (sending PINs that expire in 10 minutes) but you don't get notification when this secret code is being sent so if you have a life (or in my case a dying husband) you don't see the message until it's too late. Try complaining....good luck!

No empathy. Just a snotty message from the Team Lead saying that I am refusing authenication as required. This has been a nightmare just trying to cancel their service that was never activated. Good grief!!

Don’t get Oxio

Don’t get Oxio! Customer service is terrible! It used to be good! Now it’s not! Sometimes they don’t respond which will create many challenges! So find a better provider if you can!
