My experience with oxio was frustrated

My experience with oxio was frustrated. During my planification to go oversea for a military mission for 6 months with a extension. They waited extra 3 days to proceed my temporary cancellation to get a other monthly payment in. When i moved back to Canada, my new place had already internet. I followed the instruction and sent back the router to the address they indicated. I kept my canada post receipt for 2 months. 4 months later oxio, are charging me 179$ for not returning the equipment. Of course, after 2 months , i did throw away the receipts. Also , as i m very busy, i been trying to talk to someone from the company and it is hard by email chat. Because if you dont answer in 24h . They delete the conversation. I had to explain myself to 4 different persons with no evident follow up or notes down on your file. They dont care about you, unless you give them money.

Switched from Big Telecom to Oxio and it has been a positive experience. Try it free for a month with the following code RDBJCBE . The only piece that might be a slight hassle is getting set up is a bit of a chore but once you are running you are golden.

Oxio is the worst

I have used oxio for a couple of years now. The internet connection is poor, I have had many issues with them. Their customer service is very unhelpful and typically leaves me to try to resolve the issues on my own and takes a very long time to get back to me with the advice to just reset the modem. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

By far the worst ISP I've dealt with…

By far the worst ISP I've dealt with (including Bell and Rogers). Oxio is predatory and part of the cash grab startups that pretend like they're passing on cheap rates to customers because of their lack of marketing / "we aren't that big", but they're actually just renting the old coax lines that aren't the main money makers anymore for bigger ISPs. They're using the PE model to prey on folks that are tired of expensive bills, but they are cutting corners, using terrible customer service, and simply aren't worth it.

I would much rather try to negotiate with one of the big ones, or try to go with Fido, Cogeco, or a different player.

Zero stars if possible.

Zero stars if possible.
Dont bother with this company, a total joke. If you like texting with Ai for 20 minutes till you get an agent to text you back and still texting another half hour and nothing gets resolved.
I got fed up canceled my service that was scheduled to start, sent back the modem and router, they said upon receiving it they would credit my mastercard, they did not, reached out tidiously today and now said takes 7 to 10 days for their team to scan the shipment, what kind of BS is that... Well today being the 22 of January makes 10 days according to them. And no refund, no response from them. This company is very very shady and needs to be investigated.
Dont waste your time and your health

Worst internet provider I have ever…

Worst internet provider I have ever used. Everyday I have to reset my network, everyday my connection drops. And all the tech support tells me to do, is unplug my modem for 60 seconds.

I definitely do not recommend this company to anyone.

Waste of time

Waste of time. Instructions to set up not clear, eased three hours trying to figure out. Waited hours for tech support didn't hear from them for three hours and then it wasn't clear what they were trying to suggest. They have to send out technician but it will take days yo even confirm when. So I cancelled and then even that was annoying. I cannot imagine having to deal with their terrible support services if something went wrong

unhelpful and a waste of time

oxio has a cute website that seems inviting and friendly, and geared to technologically nimble users. but I would suggest that those who value care and attention to their customers should look elsewhere among this very competitive field of ISPs. After dealing with Rogers/Shaw for 10+ years, which was a nightmare in itself, I can say that now I have actually encountered truly abysmal customer service - modem delivery to BC was held up after 10 days of ground delivery, and, rather than offering any solution (such as airmailing a replacement--why not?? ), they simply told us, over a silly text-message thread that made us feel like teenagers, "we have no control over the package once it's in the courier's hands". a reply that is both dismissive and a waste of time for the discerning customer. good bye oxio.

Appalling Customer Service

I was with Cogeco for 30+ years, but their rates just spiralled out of sight. I switched to Oxio because of their competitive rates, a new router and modem, and supposedly, stellar customer service.

I have been with them for a year and a half. There are constant interruptions with the internet and it keeps cutting out. While online my computer will freeze. It takes ages to load a new page.

The worst part is trying to resolve problems which has become a nightmare. Oxio has no real agents, and the only way to connect with them is through a bot via e-mail or SMS. Customer service is incapable of resolving or addressing the simplest of concerns. The whole experience is frustrating.

Fair review of OXIO after 2 years of use

It’s been 2 years since I started using OXIO. I know reviews are mixed, so here’s my honest take: the service is generally very stable. I occasionally notice TV speed delays (why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars), but computers, phones, and tablets run smoothly. I use the 75 Mbps plan—maybe higher speeds would help with occasional TV issue, but it’s not a big deal compared to the savings.
What I appreciate: no hidden fees, no contract, and easy setup (we activated it without a technician). Plus, you can get your first month free (just copy a code from my other review to get a free month).
Overall: not perfect, but a very affordable and quite reliable option.

No customer service

Been using them for a bit, my modem has failed and I’ve been trying to get help to no avail. Just a live chat with a robot and sitting waiting for an hour getting no where. I have no internet right now. If this is how their customer “service” is, I’ll be switching providers and telling everyone to steer clear. This is absolutely ridiculous!

Internet was fine then suddenly became…

Internet was fine then suddenly became bad on all platforms and devices I had, I am a technical person, I tried to debug and troubleshoot as much as I can from my end but to no avail, asked for help from Oxio, took them 3 days to respond to my message. They, after 2 weeks of waiting eventually send a technician out, the technician comes, replaces a wire or two, and then just disappears without a word. I get no feedback back from Oxio no nothing. The issue is still here and I am still suffering.

Charged for services I did not receive

I tried to switch my sisters internet to Oxio about a month ago. It was easy to fill out the forms online. The problem I had with them was that they were charging me for service when my equipment wasn’t even installed yet. My sister is special needs and lives in another city so I manage everything for her. They sent the equipment quickly which was great but I didn’t have time to go to my sisters to install right away. When I got my first invoice charging me for the service that we haven’t been receiving, they emailed back saying that they charge upfront for service due to “sending expensive” equipment but that they would not charge until my account was activated which I assumed meant installation and activation on my end. I was fine with this. Then a couple weeks later, they sent me a second invoice for service that I haven’t received. I explained to them my situation and they informed me that they activated my account on their end even though I haven’t installed the equipment yet. I informed the CSR that, in a previous email, I was told I wasn’t going to get charged until activation. This is when this CSR told me that it had been activated on their end and that they were charging me for the service that I did not receive. This CSR then stated that they can put a hold on my account so that I wouldn’t get charged for services I wasn’t receiving until I have my equipment installed and was actually able to use their internet. Why wouldn’t they have done that the first time I informed informed them of my situation??? So they knowingly charged me for services that I wasn’t receiving. Anyhow, I’ve canceled the service before I even got it up and running seeing how they just charged me for two months of unreceived services. I’d go with another, more trustworthy company.

Sent tech to wrong address no help from support

I ordered Oxio, but they shipped the router late, so I needed to purchase a new one before the tech arrives, otherwise I wouldn't have internet. When the tech showed up, the address was incorrect, so he refused to install at the correct address. Now I'm without internet for over two weeks with no support response, for over 3 hours since they have no call line, only email and chat. I have no idea when I'm getting internet or when they will fix the issue, all while they have already charged me.

Am trying to move into a new home

Am trying to move into a new home, and chose Oxio for my internet. It has been 2 weeks, and I have yet to get on line.
I am moving from Vancouver to the Island, and am in the process of bringing my things from the mainland to the island.
I received the modem and router prior to going to the island, and was unable to get any signal thru the modem. I tried to contact Oxio support, and was faced with BOTS and Ai, asking for information and telling me they would get back to me.
4 hours later, I received a response, while I was on the ferry returning to the mainland. Got the usual written script, about plugging and unplugging units while watching the blinking lights. Not my first rodeo. Worked in a building where I had 300 units I used to deal with. I tried to explain that I wasn't at the property, and was unable to go thru their process. The cable feed into the property isn't working.
Apparently tech support doesn't bother to read anything you post on the chat. They couldn't comprehend that I'm not at the property, and I was communicating with the data on my phone. Long story short I asked how and where I could return their modem and router and have yet to hear from anyone. Only took a few minutes to sign on! Don't waste your time and patience trying to deal with this company.

Don't get Oxio

I’ve been a customer for two years, but since moving, the setup process was awful. I was passed between 7 different customer service agents over 9 days with no resolution, no one to call, just over an email stream.

I scheduled a technician appointment, but no one showed up. I was then back with a 4th agent who told me I no longer needed an agent. A technician arrived a couple of days later without any notice or confirmed appointment at 8 pm, but I was not home. I am now on my 7th agent, 9 days later, with no internet.

I’m currently paying for the service I don't have, and no way to get a refund. Do not get this, it is not worth the $5 less than a normal provider a month. Unfortunately, I believe they were bought out recently, and I have never felt so let down.

Oxio

Oxio. This past week I’ve had to deal with your horrible costumer service! On TWO accounts I was supposed to have my internet set up. I planned my days accordingly and left work early to wait the first time within a 4 hour window and NO ONE SHOWED UP. When I spoke to someone (which you can only speak to someone via text to voice any concerns) they said they would rebook me. The communication was not only poor but incredibly slow and inaccessible. There was NO accountability taken and no incentive to this huge inconvenience. They second rebooking they booked with me even consenting to the day. How could they know I was even available? Even still I had asked my brother who does not live by me to stay at my place to wait for a technician. They had again given me a 4 hour window (4-8) I asked them to give the technician my brothers number as I had to be at work and won’t have access to my phone. They said they would do so. At around 6:30pm at work I noticed a missed call around 5:45. I called back and this technician had let me know that they only work until 6!? How was I promised a window from 4-8 if they only work til 6? On top of that they say there is no way to get in contact with any service technician?
