Oxfam America Reviews 

I selected Oxfam as a charity to support for the long term, after careful research. As a social worker myself, I was looking for a non-sectarian organization that empowers people to achieve self-sufficiency by providing culturally appropriate tools and education, and by advocating for systemic changes that attack the causes of poverty at their root. Oxfam does all that, in addition to addressing emergency needs when disaster strikes in some of the poorest regions of the world. Their special focus on women and girls ensures that funds will build whole communities far into the future. I appreciated their transparency in correcting their own internal failures in the past, and their ongoing invitation to be as involved as I would like, as a donor, in setting the direction of the organization.

I trust Oxfam America. I like its purpose and support the help for the causes.

I support Oxfam America because it is a non-govermental organization that works at the local level. Oxfam provides funding and technical assistance to help people solve their own problems.

I trust Oxfam because they do such great humanitarian work. Helping others is a very important thing for me. I also trust them to protect my back account, so that bad people don't get it because it hasn't happened to others that use this charity.

I have never had a problem in my experiences with Oxfam. It is a pleasure to be part of what they do.

I have stopped donating to OXfam in the pass three months. I find distasteful the actions of staff involved during another crisis in Haiti. I also find the inability of the governing board to bring faster action on the matter even more disturbing. I now wonder how many other actions have occurred in the past that have not been reported to the public.

I started giving to Oxfam, instead of the American Red Cross, for emergency relief contributions. The Red Cross has too high of an overhead, and more of my relief dollars go towards direct aid with Oxfam.

The pecentage of funds spent on administrative expenses is very low compared with other not for profit organisations .

Oxfam gets the job done, providing health care, screenings, and emergency help in the most dire circumstances and supporting the poor around the world. They work to improve agricultural and environmental practices to combat the destruction of climate change. They have deep knowledge and history working in the world's trouble spots and poorest areas and people. They are nimble and move where the need is while supporting multi-year efforts to improve lives. I have supported their work for many years and will continue to do so.

Oxfam US and its international parent is one of the truly great organizations, and puts its money where its mouth is. I don't have a lot of money to give, but I support the work of Oxfam because it makes a difference in the world without a lot of fuss, and without the tools of other organizations, eg "free tote bags" etc to attempt to make you feel guilty enough to give.

Oxfam has always been my favorite charity and I have 100% trust in its work.

I am a long-time supporter of Oxfam and firmly believe in the human healing at the basic level. I have no doubt that I will continue to support this organization and its programs.
