Great product.
My daughter has just received her Osper card. She was really excited to receive the card, we also like the packaging the card arrived in. The sign up process was also really simple and hassle free. It is a great product and as a parent offers good control over my child's spending. You can also set up an automatic allowance to be given on a weekly or monthly basis. I am looking forward to seeing my daughter use this product and learn about financial management with it.

Fantastic way to help your child to manage money
Dear Osper team
We got this card for our 9 year old 2 years ago as it was the only card we researched that gave all the flexibility & monitoring.
The application was simple to do & the card was delivered to us in a very timely manner - we have not experienced any problems to date.
Our daughter feels like she has ownership over her own money. She can see who has sent her money (apart from ourselves birthday money from Grandparents) & where she has spent it plus a target savings plan for larger items.
We as parents are re-assured as we can see where the expenditure was & can monitor the balances via the Osper App - simple & clear to understand.
The beauty about this card is our daughter can take this out with her & can use it anywhere - we can load more funds if needed easily via the app.
The funds are segregated in a client account So is protected & further assurance.
Great product & would highly recommend
Well done team!

I recently bought an Osper card for my niece's birthday. She loves it and now feels quite grown up, she is enjoying having her own card and a PIN. She has even started saving some money on the app. Brilliant gift !

We bought cards 3.5 years ago for our two girls and would not consider parting with them now. When they were 8 and 10 years old respectively we put pocket money on them and they would spend it in shops while we were there. It helped to teach them how banks work, what cards were and why it was safer to carry around a card than cash. Now they are at senior school they use them all the time. They keep the cards with their phones and when plans change and they unexpectedly need me to send them money I can give them it in less than a minute. We have never had a problem with the cards, they are cheaper and safer than any alternative and I can see where they have spent their pocket money! I wouldn´t ever go back to cash.

Great card and process
Great card and process. My children all enjoy having the freedom of controlling their own money in a modern and easy way.
Very good for parents and children alike :-)

Please avoid this company
Please avoid this company! Registered in December and set up the direct debit into my child's account. Could never activate my child's account having downloaded the app as it would not accept the password we had created. Password resets didn't work and the account was locked on my child's handset.
Tried to get through to Osper - tried the "Contact Us" number and sat on hold for approx 30 mins, only to be told that it is a Lost and Stolen card number only, and that I needed to email if I was to receive customer service. Emailed and no reply after 4 business days. Rang them again and got through to Lost and Stolen again; allegedly that is the "overflow" dept from Customer Service but they are unable to put calls through to Customer Service, only take a message and pass it on. Again, no response. Exasperated I did manage to reset my own password, access the app and send a message via the app chat. Got a response and asked them to call me directly. The Customer Service agent was v. nice and sent me a password reset for my child's account. The app was still locked. At this point I said I wanted to close my account and have a full refund, which he duly did.
The point of paying a monthly subscription for this service is to receive customer service - otherwise there is little point to it as mainstream banks offer the same apps and ability to transfer money between accounts.
Osper simply isn't delivering; the technology doesn't work and there is zero customer service. I would not advise opening an account with them.

Osper now in Administration.
Have been waiting for a replacement Card for some time after having a not insignificant balance on the card for my son. I've not heard back from anyone for weeks.
Today I've just found out that they have gone into administration!
AVOID!

Missing card, zero customer support received
I ordered my son an osper card in January and received regular updates by email to advise that his card was being printed and his card had been issued, reminders by email to register my debit card to their app and activate the osper card.
However I never received the osper card through the post, and thank goodness I didn't register my card details via the app as I'm pretty sure I would have started to receive charges for a product I haven't received.
I called lost and stolen cards to report the card lost. The young lady stated she'd take my details and pass them on to the right department to get my card reissued. A few days later I moved house and needed to update my address, so tried to call again. I couldn't get through so sent an email.
I've received a reply stating that they could update my address and to send the account number details on the card.... Bit tricky as I haven't received the card still!!
I'm going to give up on osper as a bad job and take my business elsewhere. It sounds like a great concept but it is let down by poor operation.

We had an account
We had an account, which was OK, but then stopped using for various reasons. I have spent a whole week trying to reactivate the account with no success, being passed from pillar to post and/or ignored. No one is ever available on the 'chat' regardless of time of day, emails are not responsed to etc etc. I have gone to a competitor, clearly Osper don't want the business.

Osper owe me money
Getting hold of Osper is impossible. I cancelled my sons card and subsequently he received a refund for a previous purchase. Can I find out where that money went? No. Can I ring and talk to anyone? No. There is a number pretending to be customer services but its only for lost and stolen cards. No one replies to my emails. It looks like my son has lost his money.

Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service. Daughter's new card won't activate and that has locked my app and her app from doing anything else. So no access to her money, no access to the support chat function or anything. Emailed customer service. They eventually replied asking for the card number. I immediately replied. No response for 7 hours. So I called the number for Customer Services on their email. It goes straight to Lost & Stolen Cards only. I tried 22 times. I think they are pretending that you can call them because you actually can't! I eventually complained to the Lost & Stolen Cards team who kindly took a message that they would pass on. The same person from the morning emailed me just asking again for the card number. I replied immediately AGAIN and since then NO RESPONSE again. I have tried to call this evening another 7 times. Same message. We are busy so you can only speak to the Lost & Stolen Cards team. TERRIBLE COMPANY. They have my daughter's money and she has ZERO access to it and neither do I. She has no card, she has no app that works. I can see from the other complaints on here that this is far from an isolated experience. If we ever get my daughter's money out of this lousy company we'll be closing the card account and trying another card issuer instead.

Non existent customer service when things go wrong (which they will)
The concept is great and the first few uses have worked well. However now the card won't load into our sons account (even though we have cash in the parent balance) and there is NO customer service. I have tried several times through the in app chat function, via email, facebook and by phone.... no answer on any of these. What a dreadful experience.

Great Card, Features and Parental Controls
The Osper card is a great debit card for teens. It has all the features of an adult debit card along with a fantastic app that allows parents to control allowances and settings and send money over from their own card whenever they want. It is cheap too - only £2.50 per month. Parents have the option of enabling contactless and online spending and can always lock the card if it is stolen or lost. However, there is one drawback: Every time the parent wants to transfer money from their card to the child’s card it costs 50p. This doesn’t apply if an allowance is set though. I would recommend this card to all teens that want to establish some independence and have an easier way to manage their allowance.
A great concept
A great concept and as we have had the card 3 years it costs £10 a year. Not sure I would pay £24 a year though. My teenage son loves it as he can spend online and save up for things he wants to buy. It has really helped him realise the value of money and how to manage it. The company has been great over the past 3 years.
Refuse to refund £74 on daughters card after cancelling a month ago
Abysmal service. Can never get hold of them. They dont respond to emails or IM.
I cancelled my daughters card on 9th April and the card holds £74. They still haven't refunded me although on 10th May they wrote and said I would have it in 72hrs. 8 days later and nothing and no response again to requests via email

Unreliable Osper card puts your kids and money in danger
I got an Osper card for my daughter as she was too young to get a bank account. Unfortunately whilst the concept of OSPER is good, in practice it has left my daughters money and her own safety in danger.
Firstly Osper had released her money to Amazon.com who withdrew one year subscription from her account ( this was 2 months of her savings). Amazon subscription is eligible only for over 18s. Although Osper said she could get it back, Amazon has made it very difficult to refund her money.
Several times, including today, she had been denied access to her money from a cash point or shop - as the servers have been down. Placing these kids in danger - stranded with no money for lunch / bus fares.
I have already complained to OSPER- with limited success.
Non existent customer service
Card's fine but if you need anything then be ready for non-existent customer service. I've called nine times over last three days but no one ever answers. Hard to explain to a child who want their card to work. Seriously more hassle than its worth.
