Good maps from Ordnance Survey and delivered on time!

This map service is outstanding as it always has been, so nice to it moving with the times yet not losing its original high standards.

The usefulness of having every OS map on my big screen is amazing. I wouldn't be without it.

Used for about 4 years. Only gripe is occasionally downloaded maps dont work correctly. Only happens when you really really need them to work.

Excellent once again and an excellent app.

fast and reliable service

Purchased this for my son who is doing ten tors training. The lamination on the map has not even lasted until the end of his 6 month training and the map is now illegible in many areas as it has peeled away from the paper. When I raised this with ordnance survey they stated they could not replace due to wear and tear and do not do refunds after 14 days, and did not consider it an issue that the map barely lasted over 6 months. I do not recommend anyone pays the extra for the lamination unless they will always be walking in dry weather as it clearly cannot withstand the type of weather that you may find on moorlands.

Recipient of gift token is still trying to work out how to use it. 10 characters instead of 12 needed? And the price to diy joiners is lower than voucher purchases. Good product spoilt by barriers to access and mixed value proposition.

The renewal was quick, easy and no effort for me to do. Notified in advance.

I have been a user of the Ordnance Survey maps for about 60 years and the App and online mapping for about 12 years.
Overall, it is a wonderful institution, the maps are great, and the online and in-app mapping is great. Having a digital map on your phone with GPS location is reassuring as a backup to a paper map, whether the full-size variety or a printout from the website.
But it's not perfect. Using the app to quickly check the location should be simple. But even leaving the app open on the correct route can still be problematic. Touching the location icon causes the map to zoom out and then zoom back in again, when all I want is to see my location. Working on the desktop version can have a similar effect when I drag the map around with my Apple mouse. Not major issues, definitely not a deal breaker when it comes to renewal time, but something to be aware of when I'm using it.
But the maps are great; being able to print A4 or A3-sized maps at 1:50000, 1:40,000, and 1:25000 is a massive bonus.
The biggest plus is that the maps are always up to date, unlike some mapping systems on the market using OS Maps under licence.
So, why only three stars?
Given the time the developers have had, I suggest it should be glitch-free across versions and platforms.

I use OS app 3/4 times a week. I create the routes on my laptop upload them onto my phone and follow the route using my phone.
All the superb mapping features from OS maps coupled with accurate location capability that enables both following a route and recording the actual route on your phone.

I've been signed up for the OS App at least five years now - it's good to know I've got a map a phone or iPad wherever I go for walking, cycling, etc. They're good value when compared with paper maps and useful in rainy weather! I do miss paper copies a bit though and the having to pay when the IGN provide a similar service with more layers for France is irritating, but funding is not in the hands of the OS who are otherwise excellent.

Great app to use
Just requires a few little improvements

Since the last "improvement" the map keeps spinning round in what appears to be a random fashion. I then have to tap the Northing icon to get it back to see where I'm going but within seconds it is spinning round again. Deleting and re installing don't help. If it could stop spinning it would be ok.
