The Orange Nightmare
Orange has been nothing short of a nightmare. We have tried to upgrade to fiber three times, the first installer lazier than stink simply refused to run the cable necessary to do the job and left. The second guy came out, made a much bigger effort only to tell me that the connections were not gonna work Called a supervisor they couldn’t fix the problem, afterward he left. We then made another appointment for installation and this individual didn’t even show up. I then called them and told them to cancel the fiber and put me back on cable, they told me they would send the proper equipment for this which I just needed to plug-in and at least I would have cable and television. I’ve been waiting two weeks For that replacement box to arrive.
Most of the time when I call them, they don’t want to deal with the issue. They connect me to a French line, knowing full well that I’m in English speaking non-French speaking, customer, and when I do get somebody who tries to help, they tell me oh yes, it was sent. It will arrive well here we are.. If I can’t get this resolved, I’m just gonna go with Starlink no fuss no muss, buy the unit plug it in and that should be that.
Avoid Travellers eSim from this company
I've bought travel eSim from this operator and got most terrible experience I ever had.
1. The form you have to fill has no automatic recognition data from passport. Even small companies already implemented it, but no Orange.
2. The form doesn't work at all on mobile phone, it just produces error "Wrong SIM number".
3. Finally when you fill the form you got feedback that verification will take 5 days! I've bought esim for 7 days and it will start working before my departure?
Avoid such stupid company
unbelievably dreadful
a dreadful, dreadful company- impossible to get technical assistance, obstructive, obtuse and the worse customer service i have ever experienced
Great network - Bad service dpt!
After years of very good Orange consumption and a short stay at another provider.... With reconnect to Orange, the contract could not be finished due to open payments. There was NO open payments according to me. And also no open payments according to the collect company Intrum that Orange forwarded me to. The information is been sent so many times to Orange, So many phone calls ... and NOTHING. I can understand there a glitch in this data, but please, 2 weeks to solve this??? The customer service was very friendly, but they can only open case after case, it is the accountancy department who does the FAIL.
Unbelievably rude customer service in…
Unbelievably rude customer service in Saumur and Angers. The customer is NEVER right. We were shouted at and left traumatised. Do not use Orange. Go to SFR whom are amazing.
Seems only fair that I should also…
Seems only fair that I should also share my pitiful experience with Orange. To add to the thousands of other discontented folk who have had the misfortune of using this dreadful company.
It all began when a pleasant young man arrived one day at our door offering a very good deal for the new Fibre that had finally arrived at out rural destination. So we signed up thanks to the promise of 300 mbps of Internet speed.
The first problem was that our Livebox was delivered to the wrong house because our young man screwed up the addresses. The next problem was making special arrangements to be in for the installer who of course never turned up. Why didn't he turn up? Because he was installing our box at the neighbours house and he even managed to get them to sign our contract so we ended up paying for our neighbours Internet! Brilliant.
Then began the painful and stressful process of trying to get Orange to understand what had happened. 'But the Internet is working fine' they kept saying! 'Yes, but not at this house!' Eventually we got the contract shut down and started again. Some weeks later an Installer came and did indeed install the fibre to the house and it even worked. Sort of.
On wifi we were getting anything from 12 to 30 mbps which isn't much better than our mobile phones which we have been using for Internet so that was a bit of a let down after all the hype about lightning fast connections etc.
So I thought, maybe it will be faster with the Ethernet cable so I plugged that in and you probably won't be surprised to hear that nothing happened.
The trouble with Orange is that they are shockingly incompetent and leave the customer to do all the work for all the problems that they have caused.
So here we are months later paying twice as much as we did before for basically the same service. So unless Orange can speed things up and get the Ethernet working we are going to exercise our right of retraction and Orange can stuff their fibre where the sun don't shine as far as we are concerned. All that hassle, stress and inconvenience for nothing. Technology is supposed to make your life better. It is not supposed to raise your blood pressure and make you lose faith in humanity. All in all a complete SNAFU. It amazes me that this company stays in business. Just look at their lamentable score of just 1.2 stars and you can be sure it would be much less if only trust pilot would let us choose zero stars. It must rank as one of the worst companies on Trustpilot. A truly shameful service.

Their iPhone instructions totally wrong
If you have an iPhone, forget it! Their installation instructions are not only confusing, but downright wrong! I had two aborted install attempts before I had to do it with a chat adviser following me at every step. Their instruction mistakes were clearly revealed and the adviser said she would refer that to the “appropriate department.” Then, at my destination, cellular data stopped working after 5 days on a 14-day plan. Will never buy from these people again.
I wish i could give them 0 stars
I wish i could give them 0 stars
. They took over 6 months to cancel my contract until i had to leave the country without the situation fixed, meanwhile charging me double . Customer service is unhelpful and they tell you contradicting info. For your peace of mind, kindly stay away from orange (romania)
Faulty internet, never showing up to fix it.
Someone was supposed to come fix my internet, but this person did not come. No communication about it while they have my phone number. Just two days spent inside my apartment with beautiful weather outside waiting for mystery person to show up.
From the US point of view
As an American living between the US and France I have a different opinion then most here, in the EU
- the service is cheaper
- it’s way more stable, I’ve yet to experience a dropped call in 15 years
- more consumer protections
I also got my home internet and surprisingly found “orange et moi” app to be simple but very powerful - in addition to standard features I was able to diagnose and fix a connection problem with just one tap of a finger.
Yes the boutique staff can be incompetent and irritable, yes the customer support isn’t flexible if you made an error, but unlike the US things just work and you have less need for support.
Horrible experience with Orange
We paid over 100 euros at the Orange boutique in Castres to have an expert come look at our old stone house to figure out how to use a repeater or mesh system to improve the wifi. The guy who came had no repeaters with him, no ability to help, all he could do was test and say the main box worked fine. We could not get through to Orange service on the phone. The men they send out have no idea what they are being asked to do. They have no official ID or uniform. He arrived at 17h45 for an appointment set to happen between 15h and 17h. Though we were sent a way to contact him--which we tried--he never responded. He asked if he could charge his phone in our house as it was almost out of charge! What kind of a circus is this?
For more than a week i experience…
For more than a week i experience dramatically bad/intermitting connection in the Provence. Come on, it is 2024! Very much fluctuations, between no receipt at all and slow/medium speed.
Vodaphone is roaming via Orange, but the other providers perform no better. I guess France is missing the clue here.
I’m giving the service 2 stars as when…
I’m giving the service 2 stars as when it is working the service isn’t bad we have fibre. We signed up with orange as they had the English line. When we purchased the internet and two sim only mobile phones the price they quoted at the time was less than what they are charging us. Also they never told us that we had to pay over 200€ for the equipment. We returned the TV box still haven’t received our 40€ back for that. The after sales is poor. Our internet has been down for 5 weeks as the line has come down. They provided a box to assist with the internet but it’s not fit for purpose. After ringing them again today the girl states that where the line is down it belongs to another company and they can’t fix it until at least the end of the month. So 9 weeks without internet.
Obviously Orange really don’t care about what their customers think as majority of reviews on here are either 1 or 2 stars.
Positives when we have rung up the phones are answered very quickly and the customer service team do try and assist. We will be looking at other internet options.
Basically a scam at this point
Utter waste of time and money. Wanted a simple phone contract for a winter season in France. System is ridiculously complicated and requires things like a french phone number for activation - ironic because if I had one of these then I wouldn't need a new Orange sim - and further complications around addresses as well as a 16EUR joining fee. I had my sim for 4 weeks before I managed to get it active via Orange's pathetic support department. I then had it for 2 weeks before it was 'blocked due to fraudulent activity'. I messaged to unblock it, but they couldn't do this for some unknown reason - they either wouldn't or couldn't - and they also wouldn't tell me what the fraudulent activity was... so I asked them to just close the account. They closed the account, immediately cutting me off from all the account info including invoices, usage history, and support. They also refund the month's payment as agreed. I then get invoice notices up to June where they demand 70EUR for unpaid fees.. remember I can't access any invoices, even these. Support are useless.
So a simple 10EUR a month sim is actually costing me over 100EUR for two weeks' usage and a whole lot of stress.
Thanks for nothing Orange.fr
Cartel Corruption
Four years I have had the worst experience of any company in my life. Due to cartel corruption in France, landowners get to choose our fibreoptic providers - not customers. This is contrary to E.U. legislation, but will the French state do anything? Never: these gangsters are the state. My contract is with Orange, but my provider is Free and I have had Medre (they will not allow the correct word to be used) connection for four years. This is Orange's responsibility but despite taking 50€ of my money each month - just for landline and internet (no mobile) - they will do nothing to press Free to provide the service I pay for.
Free's cunning in providing a Medre (they will not allow the correct word to be used) connection goes as far as detecting when my voicemail is engaged - deducing that I am not at home (regardless of whether I am or not) and simply disconnecting my landline to make space for more digital traffic. This has happened constantly for four years as well as my regularly having 0.00007 Mbit. connectivity - of which I have proof.
These are gangsters: mafia, no different to Myer Lansky but what can you do, except leave France, because they took the country over in the 1789 coup d'etat!
Total scammers…Boycott Orange!
I regret ever signing up with Orange Mobile – they are by far the worst mobile operator I've ever encountered. All the negative reviews are absolutely true! This company is notorious for its deceptive practices and horrendous customer service.
In just a few months, they will slyly increase your plan to the maximum without any warning. If you then decide to cancel your contract, be prepared to pay for an extra month plus an outrageous 20 euros just to cancel. This kind of extortion is unacceptable and shows just how shady their business practices are.
Orange Mobile is a total scam, and it's baffling how they are allowed to operate. Companies like this should be held accountable and face legal consequences for their actions. Save yourself the frustration and financial loss – boycott Orange Mobile and look for a more reputable operator. Don't make the same mistake we did!
The worst online and telephone customer…
The worst online and telephone customer service I've ever experienced from any company. I don't usually write reviews but this is beyond a joke. Classic.
Never had troubles
As far as customer service goes in France, at least they pick up the phone. We also are very grateful they provide the option to come in person to the Orange shop down the street when we have problems to avoid customer service calls. We've only ever had very rare internet outages. Overall, a useable service that we've never had issues with.
