Open Read: A Predatory Platform - AVOID at All Costs
I urge everyone to stay away from Open Read. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, filled with deceptive practices, blatant disregard for consumer rights, and an alarming lack of transparency.
Misleading Information and Bait-and-Switch Tactics:
I initially signed up for their free trial, but quickly encountered issues with the quality and accuracy of the information provided. Hoping for improvement, I foolishly upgraded to their most expensive plan. Unfortunately, the problems persisted.
Refusal to Honour Refund Policy and Intimidation:
When I requested a refund within their stated 24-hour window, they refused, citing contradictory and ever-changing reasons. They first accused me of fraudulent activity, then claimed my upgrade negated my right to a refund, and finally cited a policy that conveniently excluded refunds for dissatisfaction with quality.
To add insult to injury, they threatened to terminate my account and blacklist me if I dared to dispute the charge with my bank. Their intimidation tactics were shocking and unacceptable.
Lack of Transparency and Potential Harm:
Their claim of having a physical office in San Francisco turned out to be a mere virtual mailbox, raising serious doubts about their legitimacy.
Most concerning is the potential harm their misleading information, especially on health and medical topics, could cause to unsuspecting users. This is simply unethical and potentially dangerous.
Conclusion:
Open Read's business practices are predatory and demonstrate a complete disregard for consumer rights and ethical standards. I have filed complaints with consumer protection agencies and my credit card company, but I urge everyone to avoid this platform altogether.
Don't fall for their promises and deceptive tactics. There are plenty of other reputable research platforms out there that actually value their customers and provide accurate, reliable information.
