Suspended for transferring

I bought a domain with a reseller for my company in mid-2023. Then I tried to transfer the domain out of Onamae to Namecheap because I trusted them more. We started this change on May 31st, 2024 then got a email from Namecheap ~11:30 AM saying that they had declined my request to transfer, then around 2:00 PM, I got a notification from our uptime monitoring software saying that the main site is offline, so I checked and I was sent to a "This domain is suspended" page, it is now April 6th and the only information I have is that they suspended my domain for "phishing" and provided a screenshot of the home page, the home page has no login fields to even get confused of phishing. My site was also 100% legitimate and simply the website for my registered company. They asked for proof that we were who we said we were 9 hours after suspending us and then have ignored us since (1 and a half days).

SCAM | THE ANNYOING REGISTRY WE HAVE EVER SEEN!

My account got suspended for no reason.
And I asked for stop some promote emails that sending to my email from their service a lot everyday.
and They replyed to the ticket in like two day and say "we stopped it".
but It didn't stop. I wait 12 days already but it didn't stop.
It's violating the local laws.
I WAIT TOTAL 2 WEEKS FOR STOP IT.
In Japan Laws, it says "the promote emails are should be stopable immendaly if recevier wants to."
It mean they are violating laws.

also they did a scam and some illegal things other than it.
so onamae.com is A SCAM.
I can't recommend it at all.
use cloudflare or namecheap e.g it's 100000000000000% better ways.

The biggest crap i have everseen.

The biggest crap i have everseen.

first of all, this registry doesn't have any pros at All.
secondly, this registry doing scam.
they selling .win domain for 4000 JPY THAT CAN BOUGHT AS JUST 5 DOLLARS IN CLOUDFLARE BUT THEY SAY "WE ARE CHEAPEST"! WHAT IN A HELL?

thirdly, they deleted or locked my account without any notification and I lost accss to all domains. but they keep sending fricking annoying marketing mails.

four, they ask "do you need server?" when register domain always. And If I misclick "Yes" ( They are making customers to misclick "yes" ) they wil create new invoice to require to pay money. THEY WONT LISTEN EVEN IF I SAY ITS MISCLICK.

five, they are adding records to domain wtihout my permission on newly register and inactive domains for affliate.

six, they do not stop auto-renew even account got locked. ( as I heared )

Overall, this registry is biggest crap and choice this registry is an idiot idea.

I'd happy pay all of assets to cloudflare registry, if I have to pay 0$ to this crap registry.

If you are looking for new registry,
I'll highly recommend Cloudflare. this is best registry i have ever seen.
for Japanease users, I'll recommend XDomain.

DO NOT USE ONAMAE.COM.

Payment Barrier for Global Customers

In the digital age, domain names are the cornerstone of any business's online presence. Losing control over one's domain can be catastrophic, and the process of reclaiming it should be straightforward and fair. However, when it comes to Onamae (also known as Japanese Name.com), the experience is anything but. This review aims to shed light on the company's deeply flawed and frustrating domain repurchasing process, which not only inconveniences customers but also raises questions about its adherence to ethical business practices.

The Repurchasing Nightmare:
A Case Study of AtelierHouseHospitality.com

A colleague of mine lost control over their domain, AtelierHouseHospitality.com, which was unfortunately purchased by Onamae.

The process to buy it back is a maze like ordeal involving multiple contact forms and a glitch-ridden registration process.

But the complications don't end there.

Payment Restrictions:
A Barrier to Global Customers;
For a company that claims to be global and is listed on the stock market, Onamae's payment options are shockingly limited. They only accept locally issued Visa or Mastercard credit cards, effectively locking out anyone who doesn't reside in Japan. While they do accept AMEX, DINERS, and JCB credit cards, it's unreasonable to expect customers to subscribe to a new credit card service just to hope they can reclaim their domain.

Legal and Ethical Concerns:
Such practices are not only inconvenient but also potentially in violation of consumer protection laws. According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines, businesses should provide "clear and conspicuous" terms of service, including payment options. Onamae's restrictive payment methods could be seen as a violation of these guidelines, as they limit the consumer's ability to make informed choices.

Moreover, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) guidelines for e-commerce recommend that businesses "take into account the global nature of electronic commerce and, particularly when operating in foreign markets, consider the needs and expectations of consumers in other countries." Onamae's practices seem to be in stark contrast to these international standards.

Conclusion: A Call for Immediate Reform;
Onamae's domain repurchasing process is not just flawed; it's a slap in the face to consumers everywhere. For a tech company with global aspirations, its business model is woefully outdated and possibly in violation of consumer protection laws.

It's high time that Onamae revisits its policies and aligns them with globally accepted consumer practices. Until then, I would strongly advise against engaging with this company for any domain-related services.

Needless to say, we did not get the domain back despite our willingness and ability to pay for it.

the best service "IN JAPAN"

GMO(the parent company of onamae.com) is a global company.
Their global domain registry is z.com. not a onamae.com

Onamae.com doesn't seem to be limiting the country, but it's close to local, not global.

I don't know the purpose of English-speaking people to using a Japanese registry.

The company is already providing services that are not lacking in Japan! There is no reason for local services to accommodate the needs of foreigners.

In other words, no matter how much reviews you write in english, they don't even see this.
If you really want to share the company's problems with their customers, it is better to use Japanese.

So my evaluation of onamae.com is very good for japanese users.
I love the service that offers several discount coupons via email.

This is not a good company to use

This is not a good company to use. I have not opted for auto-renewal during the 1st registration. it was only a one-time subscription. However, they are still deducting money from my credit card. This company's operation is very fishy. Even they do not have any telephone support or customer support. In addition, there is no clear information on where to contact in case of illegal charges imposed by the company. My advice is to think twice before opting for this company.
