Females - Be aware of your safety on this property

Please make sure you use your top safety lock when staying at this hotel.

One of my coworkers had a man attempt to enter her room at 6:00 AM. When she asked who he was, he identified himself as “security,” but he was actually maintenance. Thankfully, she did not let him in.

What’s especially concerning is everything that followed:

* Why did he misidentify himself as security?
* Why didn’t he knock or properly announce himself?
* Why didn’t the front desk call ahead before attempting to enter an occupied room—especially a solo female guest?
* And why was there zero accountability from management afterward?

To make matters worse, valet also “lost” my keys and told me they had somehow ended up at a gas station. I had to wait 30 minutes for them to retrieve my keys and bring my car back. Completely unacceptable.

Our experience with Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate management was extremely disappointing. The situation was dismissed, and our safety concerns were not taken seriously. We were also told there was no surveillance available to review what happened.

This was a frightening experience, and it ultimately led our entire team to leave a day early because we did not feel safe staying.

This lack of accountability is unacceptable. Guests—especially women traveling alone—should be aware.

Great Customer Service

This was not our initial hotel reservation. However, after arriving at the hotel we were originally booked at, the conditions were so poor that we rushed around, looking for another hotel with available rooms. I’m so glad we found The Omni! It was not only a beautiful, historical, ornate building filled with great staff hospitality, but the location was also perfect. I was stuck in one of their elevators for a total of 4 minutes, while heading to meet the DoorDash guy. Some pretty strange events took place during those 4 minutes on my cellphone, unbeknownst to me at that time via video. The conversation I had with my husband while stuck on the elevator was apparently being recorded by accident via video, but only my side of the conversation was recorded and my husband could not be heard, although we were speaking through the speaker because the phone was recording the floor and ceiling, as well as the flashing 5/6. The staff (Manager and Security Office) both made immediate contact with me following the incident. They were both, genuinely concerned about my safety and wellbeing. I assured them that the short time I was unable to leave the elevator had not caused me any physical or mental damage. I was panicked for no good reason. Yes! I panicked as if it was longer than the actual 4 minutes that it was, but escaped the elevator without any impact on my ability to breathe or function. It just decided to open on its own after flash 5/6 over and over. I had messaged the DD driver to go for help and called my husband at the room. I later learned that the hotel staff did not open the elevator, but were in the process of getting me assistance. I rang the emergency button over and over, while hearing people talking around me, but I was alone. It wasn’t until our drive home when my husband decided to share the legendary tales behind the Omni Hotel with me. He knew I would flip out if he had told me there. I Googled it to see if he was pulling my leg and it happened to be right there in black and white. Well, I’m a true skeptic, but for those who aren’t, it’s an extra bonus to the already amazing place. The staff go above and beyond. Anything we needed from day one, the staff made sure we had it. I’ve never stayed anywhere so friendly. The waffles are the BEST at the cafeteria for breakfast and I get freshly squeezed juice. Love it! Unfortunately, our stay had to end one day short due to me waking up at 3 am very sick, but once we were 15 miles out of town I was better. If we hadn’t had checked out already I would have returned. We will most definitely return to The Omni.

Standards slipping ….. sorry to have to write a negatives…

I’m sorry to have to write a negative review for the Omni resorts as we have enjoyed them for so many years. The Omni Royal Orleans in New Orleans is simply falling apart. We stayed in the penthouse suite last year and not only was well. The furniture was so shabby and for the amount of money that we paid for the week there I would say my partner was really disappointed, only, the door to the pool was slamming since starting at like 5 o’clock in the morning and waking us up and when I complained several times I was told something would be done about that door, waking us up every morning and of course, nothing was ever done. That was last year and we were told that there was gonna be an upgrade there no pillows at the pool anymore there no umbrellas and here’s the best part this past week we stayed and , I love staying at the hotel because it really is just the best pool so not thinking and trusting that the pool is going to be at least up to the same quality of cleanliness when I stepped into the pool I really busted my butt hurt my knee slammed into the wall, slipped on the stairs hit my back The pool was green and slimy green and slimy. I called maintenance. I called the front desk. I complained I don’t know what they did after that because I didn’t even go back into the pool the next morning they told me they had to clean it and then we all had to get out but when you think about the fact that that pool was so green and so slimy and it was jazz festival week That the hotel didn’t try to make the pool up to the standards that they normally uphold for one of the busiest weekends and busiest weeks and busiest times of the year in New Orleans. It’s disgusting.

On the back of it.

Below is an email sent to Mr Strebel whom I was advised was no longer the CEO. They said I should expect a reply, which hasn’t happened. Very disappointed that they don’t appear to appreciate or take seriously customer feedback.

The complaint is about the cost of a massage at US$185 for 50 minute treatment, which was basic.

The cost of the above is criminal and should be reduced to US$80. Paying guests have access to all hotel amenities. Is the price of US$185.00 internationally competitive?
Attached for your information are details of the Holiday Inn, Kensington.

In addition, you may want to survey customers staying at the hotel how was their spa experience and if it was value for money.

Please note and I stress my concern is not with any staff members but with the Omni hotel chain.

Background
On Thursday 28 September I had a massage for 50 minutes not even an hour that cost US$185. The massage was billed as a special unique experience. Again it was was not value for money.

The massage room was very average making the first impressions deflated at best. My expectation of a leaving with an overall wow factor was not met based on the cost, which has nothing to do with the staff.

I shall be pleased to receive reply a by close of business based on US time on or before 4 October.
