These don’t work well

I bought a canister filter that was at least twice the gph that my saltwater reef tank needed after the smaller one I bought didn’t put out enough flow. It started out with barely enough flow and then it just failed altogether. In the process, my $200 fish died. While the seller, Chewy.com, refunded me, when I called OASE about the fish they didn’t even offer an apology. Instead, she tried to tell me to take the filter apart to see what was wrong with it. I had already returned it to Chewy and the fish were already dead. Get a canister filter from anywhere else than OASE if you don’t want your fish to die from lack of flow and temperature control. I do not see a good score here for this company and saw some YouTube videos that said not to go with these guys. You live, you learn.

So poor

So poor. Stopped communicating after first email to address a warranty issue with a skimmer 250.
Still unable to get any replies. Assume they are waiting for the warranty to expire!

I think that a reviewer on here nailed…

I think that a reviewer on here nailed it... When it's working it's great. However Sadly what is essentially a good well made product and certainly is not a cheap option, my relationship with the Oase Fm cloud Master controller has been an absolute nightmare.
Initially connection issues with router over a distance of 6 metres with clear sight is a chapter in itself and there are months of emails between myself and Oase attempting to solve this issue. Finaly solved (for 2 months only) when we put a new router and Internet connection within 2 metres of the Oase controller. (not a cheap option)
Now onto August 2022. After being fed up with not being able to control flow rate to save electricity (pumps only running at 100%) I have decided to completely remove my account from Oase and start with a new email address and factory reset.
From the moment I unistalled to waiting for authorisation code to be sent to a 'new' email address I have now been waiting 15 mins and sent for a second time.. No not in spam or junk so once again let down with a very poor app service.

Stopped working on 14th May when it went offline

Was not able to increase or decrease flow.
18th May removed and tried to reinstall no good. No longer recognised on ecg controller but still works on its last programmed flow (5%)
If I unplug ecg lead at FM controller pump goes back to 100% flow so I'm guessing a new lead is required? New lead fitted and didn't solve problem.
Finaly got to speak to a very helpful lady who emailed Germany and the suggestion was to take mobile data off my phone which seems to have sorted it on a temporary basis. I've just gone onto controller again and it's not letting me log on remotely.
I have spent over £4,000 on Oase pumps etc and the pumps I find excellent but the FM master cloud controller has been a huge disappointment and has soured jy relationship with Oase.
Reliability 1 star but I still am impressed with the 36000 and 26000 pumps

Great Service

I needed a filtration system for my koi pond. Did my research and decided to go with Oase. I ordered through Webb's Water Garden. After 3 months an issue arose. Webb's Water Garden got right on it. I also discussed the issue with Oase. A part was immediately sent. Didn't solve the problem. Spoke with "Peter" at Oase. A new part was immediately sent which cured the problem. Oase and Webb's Water Garden are the best!!

Bio orbe "Fish bowl" ... and Will in the tech department

Bio orbe "Fish bowl".
I have worked in the Pet/Aquatic/Garden wholesale and retail trade for 20 years, many Bio products have passed through our warehouse and shops but, after all these years I am disgusted with their customers services technical support at their Headoffice...
"Will" in technical department is the person I was transferred to from the lovely accounts lady. Will couldn't be bothered to sit and listen to what I was saying, he had the phone on loudspeaker and was messing about in the background, including having another conversation with someone his end of the phone.
My question was...are you going to be marketing anything that will stop the water dribbling down the sides of the Bio Classic Orb, thats when the phone was put down.
These Orbs were originally a tester, they are not brilliant, cheaply made but expensive to set up and run...at the end of the day it is a big plastic fish bowl.
The air filter bubbles hit the top of the bowl where the light fitment is, yes, it hits the light directly, this dribbles the excess water along the light onto the lid of the bowl itself causing it to leak to the side of the lid that rests on the outer side of the actual bowl, a simple condensation type tray is needed to stop this.
Oase is aware of this big problem but ignore it as we the public, keep buying these pretty bowls...then we all sell them off on Ebay and purchase a NORROM AQUARIUM.
Well Will, I won't thank you for your time or understanding but hopefully, I have now got my concerns across but did not want to do this publicly, you should have just treated my phone call with respect like the the lively lady in your accounts did, take a few tips from her.

Don't even consider it

It's not even one product. Its the whole range. The premium drum filter is supposed to take the handle away from regular pond keeping and the time dependent koi hobby in order to balance that and a career. It doesn't. The UV light is supposed to be ready made for such a system, it isn't.

I've spent thousands upon thousands on my current setup in order to go with the very best yet its the worst pond or aquarium equipment I've ever owned or encountered.

Many a holiday now ruined with the latest interrupted by the dreaded error 33 and a UV that only turns of you clout it on the side. German engineering I don't think.

I'm now washing my hands with the lot. Wasted thousands but another week of this and I won't be here to decide.

Save yourself the bother and buy more reasonable equipment that's reliable and a pair of gloves to get that little bit dirtier every few weeks.

Have to say I'm also struggling

Have to say I'm also struggling. Bought an EGC Control unit which are very expensive. Worked okay for a bit, then they updated the App and forced us to upgrade. I couldn't get the new App to work and judging by the reviews on the App store neither could anybody else. So I went from something that worked fine to no functionality whatsoever. I knew it would be several hours of mucking around getting it connected to the Internet again which I didn't have so put it off for 6 months (whilst having no water features etc), then tried today to sort it and as expected, about 3 hours wasted so far and still no luck. I did call them and the lady who answered was helpful but I'll have to call back tomorrow because basically the product does not work, you go round in myriads of circles waiting for the product to wake up and work.

OASE Foamfix

Bought OASE Foamfix. No instructions worth speaking of on aerosol can or website. Came supplied with plastic nozzle which I attached; pressed nozzle but only the smallest quantity came out then stopped and refused to work thereafter. Phoned OASE but couldn't offer any explanation or help other than returning it to the shop which is some distance away and probably uneconomic to drive to. A newly purchased aerosol can, quite definitely full, but a complete waste of time and money.

OASE Foam Base Locking Plate for…

OASE Foam Base Locking Plate for FiltoClear 3000 / 4000 / 8000
I have a Filto Clear 8000
First the UV light stopped working and I was past the warranty period. To give the company credit, they replaced it at no charge. I was impressed.
Recently the Base Locking plate broke right where the screws attach it to the metal arms. I bought two replacements. Today went to clean the filter and lifting the handle it broke again, exactly the same place. The base is made of flimsy cheap plastic subject to a lot of pressure when you lift the handle and compress the foam pads. The base should be either thick solid plastic reinforced substantially at the connection point or metal. Now I ordered two more and have to take it apart and replace yet again. No doubt it will break again soon. Why would they have such a flimsy part where it needs to be strong!?

Shonky product and guarantee questionable

Just over two years ago, I paid a professional installer to work on my pond. He installed an Oase UVC Filtral 9000 which was, I gathered, a premium pond product that should last for a long time.

It didn't.

Despite my maintaining and cleaning the pump several times a year (more than the twice recommended) and the pond having no real wildlife in it (ornamental), the unit died approx 2yrs and 4 months after installation.

I was unhappy to say the least but it got worse, as the customer service rep informed me that "The product is outside of guarantee and was not purchased through an Oase dealer so unfortunately we cannot exchange it under guarantee. Please be aware that the Filtral carries a two year guarantee from date of purchase from an Oase dealer, we do not offer any guarantee extension for this product".

This is ridiculous. So if an amateur buys it direct and bodges the install, that's fine but if a pro does it, they won't honour the guarantee. As it was, because it failed just after the normal guarantee period, I'm not covered anyway.

Either way, I have a useless dead lump of plastic that cost a lot of money which in my view, is unacceptable.

Because my pond was slowly dying with the pump inoperable, I have had to incur an expected further £250 or so of costs to get someone to come out and remove and replace the unit (the cables are buried etc so a pain in the backside). All in, I don't expect to pay over £400 for pumps for a small pond in less than two and a half years.

Based on my experience, AVOID the product and avoid the company.

Oase aquamax 30000

I bought an oase aquamax 30000 pump 3 years ago, it comes with a 3 years warranty, the pump stop running exactly 3 years & 20 days. I contacted the distributor, they say the can’t do anything since it passed the warranty period, they even say they have many similar cases, but oase from Germany would not warranty it. Avoid buying those pumps, they are totally unreliable & failed to function exactly after 3 years moreover they are very expensive. I decided to replace it with a Japanese pump which cost 25% of the price of oase, they are more reliable, I have used them previously, they kept on running without any maintenance for at least 8 years before failing..

Apparently they call me, and replace me with a new unit. I hope this unit can last longer.

Buyers Be Warned

Buyers Be Warned!
It’s important that anyone looking to purchase any equipment from this company know that if you do and something goes wrong with it and it’s faulty, they will NOT replace it for you…
Yes this is against the ‘Consumer Rights Act’ but they don’t care about that or you, once they have your money its tough!
I spent thousands with this company via my Pond Guy and have several of their OASE pumps. One of which stopped working only after 2 weeks. They refused to replace it and had me jumping through loads of hoops to see if they could get it working despite me telling them, we had tried everything but no they wouldn’t listen.
OASE are a huge company and they have no idea what customer service is at all. Shame we didn’t use PayPal as they would have made them replace it. Lesson learned there.
Terrible service and very short sighted company considering the amount of money we spent with their main distributor. . Nearly 10k but still wouldn’t replace the faulty pump. They made up stories that it was something inside the pump that wasn’t working then said that wasn’t covered, then changed their mind and said it was sand in the pump, just a load of nonsense.
I had no filter on my brand new pond for 4 weeks, which left my pond in a terrible state after spending thousands on it. They just didn’t care at all….
This equipment isn’t cheap so if you don’t want to get stitched right up, choose a different company and manufacture or buy via PayPal. This is a 100% genuine review and I think people should know the type of business they are dealing with. Think twice here people. !! Or just stay well clear!

Oase ‘Fountain Set 2500’ - not to usual Oase standard

Oase ‘Fountain Set 2500’ - Be very Aware, that although this (not so cheap) product comes with a 2+1 ‘guarantee’, the guarantee doesn’t cover the impeller which Oase claim is a ‘wear-part’ - given my impeller lasted exactly 16 mths this impeller/product combination was ‘not-fit-for-purpose’ and buyers should look towards the larger Oase products. This experience is in complete contrast to the Oase Aquamax premium products, of which I have run two 24/7 for the last +20 years, which have all exceeded their 3+2 year guarantees.

I purchased their 600 External Filter

I purchased their 600 External Filter - the concept was an easy sale, namely that the heater was in the filter and therefore no need to have one in the Aquarium. I started to notice that the temperature was not holding and realized it was because the filter kept filling with air - something I am told it a common issue with these filters. I bought a heater (defeating the object!) and temperature were OK - I had another filter running in tandom - then I realised there was virtually no flow whatsoever, upon inspection the heater had broken and no matter what I tried it would release the air. Being under a 3 year + 1 Warranty, I assumed there would be no problems in returning this item as not being fit for purpose, especially as had the heater been plugged in, I would have had an electric shock - I am awaiting the outcome, but I would suggest that the product ins't fit for purpose.
