Oaka Books creates clear, accessible, curriculum-based revision resources designed to help students truly understand and retain key topics. We specialise in materials that support visual learners, dyslexic students, and anyone who finds dense textbooks overwhelming. Our topic packs follow a simple three-step structure that helps information stick: students begin by reading a clearly laid-out, illustrated booklet, then reinforce their understanding through an active learning game or activity, and finally consolidate their knowledge by completing structured write-on revision sheets. We cover a wide range of subjects across Key Stages 1–4, including Science, History, Geography, French, Maths and more, and our resources are used by parents, tutors, home-educators and schools. In addition to printed topic packs, we offer a digital subscription that provides online access to our booklets, quizzes and workbooks, making independent study easier at home or in the classroom. Every product is created in collaboration with experienced teachers and SEN specialists to ensure clarity, accuracy and accessibility for all learners. We also prioritise sustainability by minimising plastic use and planting a tree for every order. Above all, Oaka Books is built on the belief that every learner deserves the confidence that comes from truly understanding their subjects.

They were a lifeline when my grandson first became a school refuser. They not only gave us help with many subjects but also reduced our anxiety just when we needed it.
Of especially note is the pamphlet on Geographical Settlements which was thoroughly researched and nicely presented. We have bought several other booklets. For History and Science too. Excellent.

Great learning for Dof E expeditions”
"I bought this for my Ranger unit but have played it with walking friends too and even though we are pretty experienced it is still good revision.
Looking forward to using it with a Duke of Edinburgh group that I help with too.

“An Excellent Resource for Visual Learners and Curious Minds”
"This series is incredibly well-designed for visual learners. The pages are bright, colourful, and engaging, making complex topics much easier to grasp. Each section is thoughtfully laid out, with clear, concise explanations supported by well-labelled diagrams. Key vocabulary is highlighted in bold, helping children (and adults!) focus on the most important terms.
The additional materials—flashcards, games, and workbooks—are a fantastic bonus. They provide hands-on ways to reinforce what's learned in the main topic book, making the whole learning experience interactive and fun.
My husband is a Geologist and has been thoroughly impressed with the accuracy and depth of information in these books. They're not only educational but also enjoyable to read, and we highly recommend them for any family interested in science and discovery."

“Biology GCSE Flash Cards”
Excellent resource. Pleased with purchase. Would be great if you could also produce GCSE Physics and Chemistry cards!

“Excellent additional help with CE Latin”
A beautifully constructed and well thought out game. High-quality cards and pieces. Engaging for pupils to play with and, in doing so, improve their Latin.

“Very good.”
These books are very easy to learn from. My daughter has autism and found them easy to understand. She also found them fun! I have made 2 orders of 3 books each so far. I will be ordering more. Highly recommended 5*

Brilliant books for our AuDHD daughter who struggles with Science. The clear and concise layout along with colourful images has really helped with her KS3 studies. The board games and flash cards make the mundane task of revision easy. I highly recommend these books, it would be great if they could cover more subjects!.

*** Update 14th Nov 2025***
I appreciate the recent message and email from the company albeit 2 and 1/2 years later and prompted by another customer who brought my review to their attention. However, I feel it’s important to clarify the full situation as the public response here is incomplete and somewhat misleading.
The key issue was never resolved: despite being told by his colleague (Bambi) that I would be refunded both postage costs – (1) the original 1st Class shipping I paid and (2) the £3.59 I paid on 21st April 2023 to return the book which was returned to me undelivered – I never received the £3.59 refund, nor any response after repeatedly asking for an update.
For transparency, here is the factual timeline:
7 April 2023: I placed my order by First Class post.
19 April 2023: I emailed to say the book had only just arrived, too late for my daughter’s exam, and asked how to return it.
I received no reply at all.
21 April 2023: As instructed in their original order paperwork, I returned the book at my own cost (£3.59). Royal Mail then returned the parcel to me a few days later because it could not be delivered to the address they provided.
28 April 2023: After still hearing nothing, I phoned and spoke to Bambi, who agreed to refund both the original postage and the £3.59 return postage.
Later that same day, Harry emailed to say he had refunded only the £11.51 (book + original postage).
I replied immediately, asking about the £3.59 refund multiple times.
After my follow-up messages, I received no further reply from Harry at all.
This is why I left the original review: not because of the delivery delay (which was Royal Mail’s fault), but because of poor communication, conflicting information, and an agreed refund that was never paid.
Two and a half years later, I am being asked to update my review, but the key missing refund has still never been acknowledged or addressed. The company’s public response here gives the impression that the whole issue was resolved and that I received “a full refund”, which is simply not accurate. His gesture of goodwill to keep the book is a bit moot, as I did try to return it, only to have it returned back to me.
I have no wish to harm a small business – I had been a loyal customer for years – but it’s important for the sake of transparency that the full sequence of events is accurately reflected.

Customer service not great - no response to email after a delayed delivery. Paid £3.54 for first class delivery (estimated on 10th April) but did not receive the book until 19th April, the day of my daughters exam. Now I have just paid £2.99 to return it - £6.50 out of pocket just for postage. Any refund coming (fingers crossed) for the book will just cover my postage with £1 going to refund the cost of the book. It feels like quite an amateur set up there. Re the books themselves - although KS3 books are colourful and simple and work well for revision for KS3, the GCSE books do not have enough topic information (for my son's course anyway which is listed by them) which meant purchasing additional resources and the Oaka books not being used as it became another thing for him to do to have to pick and mix information, not his forte as a dyslexic student. We have since found other resources online with comparable illustrations and fuller information. Shame as I think they work very well for younger years.

We use Oaka for our son, he's KS3 and can't rate them highly enough. The bright, colourful books are laid out beautifully. It's such a good way to learn for my son, he retains so much information. We have both the digital version as this has quizzes and extras. And also every topic book including science, geography and history. Each topic book includes a separate game which you can play related to the topic, this leads to excitement at finishing the book, and also it helps retain the information. There is also a colourful book to fill in with what you have learnt.
We also have the chemistry, physics, biology and geography board games. These are such a lovely way to learn, we all play them and have learnt so much. My son is a visual learner, he is certainly learning with Oaka. I'll be using them with my younger child when he's at that stage.
