Avoid

Unfortunately, I echo the comments of the previous reviewer. The storage charges are completely disproportionate. We were billed over £4,000 in storage fees for five pallets, held for less than a week due to a Trading Standards inspection hold (entirely outside of our control).

There was no willingness to review or adjust the charges, leaving us with no realistic option but to pay. A very disappointing experience and not one we would choose to repeat.

AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!

At least Richard Turpin wore a mask! This company WILL rob you blind! Goods held at the port with Trading Standards for an inspection through no fault of our own; all compliant, but Trading Standards took 6 days to complete after the initial free period, and a whopping £3500 storage charge from NVO to rub salt in your wounds. Please, please, please check with your shipping agent and if NVO consolidation is being used, change your shipping company immediately! Extortionate charges, we have learned the hard way! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Worst Destination Service ever

This is by far the worst destination service company I've ever come across in logistics. Their whole business model is based on fees for inexistent services. Huge transit times, extremely unclear e-mail with the sole intent to force you into additional charges. Make sure your overseas agent is not using NVO as their destination agent, or you are lost. NEVER again with NVO!

Very helpful and professional service

Due to previous poor ratings and the bank (metro bank) telling me it was possibly fraudulent company, I was very worried but the team re-assured and went out there way with calls and emails. Very professionally run and very helpful.

Delay at its finest

Delay at its finest, although it's also possible privately. We were just as enthusiastic about the program before that. Delay only a delay of months

Absolute charlatans

Absolute charlatans. Many invented charges importing from China and a cost well in excess of all competition. Unclear instructions and generally unhelpful.

I had no control of the Chinese shipping agents appointing of this company sadly. The litany of 1 star reviews seems well earned. Have since read advice below insisting that Chinese shipping agents don't use them. I would echo that.

Update: Series of unclear messages throughout. So far has cost me and extra £500 (which obviously I get to pay).

I used a competitor of theirs for a similar shipment at a total cost of £750. They are currently at around £2200!

Update again: If you have to deal with this company, clarify everything they tell you. No messages they send will be clear and comprehensive. You will have to pay for their lack of clarity. It's certainly cost me enough.

Extortionate Costs in Every Way

Did not uphold rates agreed between the shipper and origin agent, simply saying the rates provided to the shipper were 'incorrect', despite the shipper forwarding all correspondence to me. This is not how normal businesses operate.

This Company works by offering cheap origin rates to lure in the shipper, and then charge extortionate destination fees. There is no doubt that this Company pays a certain percentage to the origin agent. In our case, this was L & S Logistics in Shenzhen. Make sure your supplier is not using them AND most certainly ensure NVO Consolidation is not on the Bill of Lading.

Beyond the £1400, NVO additionally wanted £286 for the UK delivery of three pallets, as well as £145 Customs clearance for a basic invoice.

They are responsive to emails but firm on their fees.

NVO is the worst company

NVO is the worst company. If your Cargo is worth £1000 you have to pay their fees which probably be like £2000 excluding UK customs and taxes.
They rip off customers, they charge stupid things and insanely high prices. They charged me £110 just because they spent $500 USD for me and i am paying back to them in GBP and the £110 was for currency fluctuations. If you take my advice never ever use this company.

Absolute scam

We had the displeasure of dealing with this company. Their rates were more than twice that of their competitors. Their phone number does not lead to anywhere and asks you to email them instead. When we said we didn't want their "services" they decided to continue on anyway and then charge us for work that we had already paid another company for. Avoid like the PLAGUE

Complete con artists!

Complete con artists! My Chinese agents arranged for this company to handle freight forwarding in the UK. Ridiculously high deferment account cost that was not related to Chinese importer, and warehouse charges invented! When asked to provide proof they were unable to show receipts. Of course the warehouse bill only came after we made the initial payment so they already had our money and there wasn't much we could do. If you don't want to hit with untold hidden charges please use another company.

These guys could try to blackmail you…

These companies may attempt to pressure you into making unjustified payments by demanding exorbitant prices. If you receive an invoice with excessive charges, you should report the company to the public prosecutor, as there is a strong suspicion of extortion. In addition, there are indications of blackmail and ransomware-like methods, which can ultimately result in you not receiving your goods. Without filing a criminal complaint, you may have little chance of escaping this trap.

Avoid At All Costs

This business appears to be largely based on excessive administration fees, e.g. £125 to use deferment account????, and excessive storage costs of hundreds of pounds per day, even if you give them the paperwork and payment in advance

Second time this has happened
