A hearing test and trial appointment at the Nottingham Hearing Practice usually takes around 2 hours. In order to ensure the appropriate recommendations are made, it is important that when we assess your hearing we truly understand how your hearing affects you. Sometimes a hearing impairment could simply be caused by a build-up of wax and if this is the case we can arrange an appointment for it's safe removal. Holistic fitting method: If hearing impairment is established, your Audiologist will provide information about the latest intelligent and connected hearing aids stocked by the Nottingham Hearing Practice. We provide hearing devices from the leading hearing aid manufacturers, such as Phonak, Oticon and Starkey in a range of styles. So, that means we can ensure we find the best solution for you. At this point, we differ from other providers, as we are able to fit you with instruments immediately. We then allow you the opportunity to try them free of charge, for a couple of weeks or more. Of course, we’ll make sure the hearing aids are programmed to your hearing loss and give you a basic orientation on how to use your new hearing aids. He explained the procedure before hand and went on to show me (with the use of a model ear) what happens to the eardrum when the ear is full of wax. He was very professional, never felt rushed giving me advice on what to do and what not to do in future. A painless procedure, worth every penny, cos when i walked out of that practice it was, WOW, AMAZING, i could hear again!!! Many thanks and would recommend to anyone with ear problems.

First class service
Steve was very informative about the wax removal procedure and explained really clearly how the ear works and advice on what to do and what not to do about clearing ear wax. The procedure itself was painless and very satisfying especially when I was able to hear clearly again!

Excellent service
I first visited the hearing centre for ear wax removal, then for a hearing test and finally hearing aids. The service was excellent, Alan is very professional and friendly.
I was given different types of hearing aids to try and not under any pressure to decide, therefore able to make the right decision of the best ones for me.
I would absolutely recommend the hearing centre in Beeston for anyone suffering hearing loss or for just wax removal

A friendly and effective service
From time to time my hearing becomes impaired by the build up of wax. Since we moved to the area some five years ago I have attended the Nottingham Hearing Clinic in Beeston to have my ears cleared. The clinicians are friendly and expert in their field. It is always a great experience

New hearing aids
I have worn NHS hearing aids for 10 years which have been great. However, I always wondered if there was anything out there which could enhance my hearing further.
I have had so many brilliant customer experiences at the Nottingham Hearing Practice that I decided to explore possibilities using their expertise, which I trust implicitly.
A comprehensive hearing test was carried out by Alan who then guided me through the complex world of cutting edge hearing technology and advised me - absolutely no pressure selling - on the model he considered would bring me the greatest upgrade.
We settled on Oticon One.
A pair were ordered for me and when they arrived, Alan once again provided a comprehensive walk-through for me, ensuring that everything was to my satisfaction.
Then the real plus. A chance to take them away for a couple of weeks to try in different environments.
This is so helpful.
My hearing is in a pretty poor state, but the power of the new hearing aids, complemented by the ability to adjust settings from an app on my phone, has certainly moved my hearing 'ability' to a new level.
They are not cheap, but I believe their 'performance' makes them a worthwhile investment.
I am extremely pleased.
I would like to thank Alan - and all at the Nottingham Hearing Practice - for their continued attention to detail and for all their help so expertly given.
As I have written many times, their customer service is outstanding.
Try them. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent personal service
My wife and I both went for new hearing aids. The care and attention we got from Jo was truly amazing. She took very full notes at the start so as to match her recommendation to our circumstances.
To ensure that mine were fitted perfectly, I had return visits to trial different sized receivers and domes. What a contrast to the offhand attitude of our previous chain providers.
We even had earwax removed at the start of the first lengthy consultation, to ensure a good test, unlike the previous firm which ignored it.
And the hearing aids themselves are excellent.

As everyone who is deaf knows it is a mine field trying to find hearing aids that you are happy with. I have finally found mine, and also a company that treats you with care and compassion. Great service
Previous health clinic wax removal has been an unpleasant experience for me with aborted attempts, being told off for not putting the oil in for long enough and generally being made to feel like I'm wasting their time. So how lovely it was to have the complete opposite, and I would go so far as to say, pleasant experience at Nottingham Hearing Practice. Steve explained everything in full and had different techniques for removing the wax including my preferred choice of micro suction. It was painless and quick. I was able to ask lots of questions about ears, wax and hearing aids, all of which Steve answered without me feeling he was trying to 'sell' me anything. Its definitely a place I'll go back to for dewaxing and when the time comes for hearing aids. Thanks Steve.

Incredible Service
I have been going to The Nottingham Hearing Practice since it opened and Alan has been looking after my hearing needs since before then as I followed him from his previous place of work. Allen and the team are kind, professional and understanding and I would not trust anyone else to look after my hearing needs. Alan has always listened to me and tried different things to improve my hearing ability. As my hearing deteriorates I know Alan will do what ever he can to make sure my hearing aids are up to date and running the latest audiogram related to my most recent test results. I cannot recommend The Nottingham Hearing Practice enough. Already wearing hearing aids or think you may need some for the first time, do not hesitate to give them call.
