Our experience with the New Lawn Company has been deeply disappointing.

The work was carried out four years ago and initially looked fine. We had asked them to level our gardens after a new build, lay turf, plant box hedge and laurels, supply bay trees in pots, and install paths and patios using sandstone and porcelain slabs.

Within the 3-month guarantee period, they returned multiple times to replace failed grout and dead laurels. Soon after, the entire length of box hedge, both bay trees, and more laurels died. On inspection, I found plants set into tiny holes surrounded by compacted hardcore or poor, waterlogged soil, giving roots no chance to survive.

Over the years the patios and paths have deteriorated badly. Much of the porcelain grout had to be replaced by me, the patio and path tiles became loose, and lifting them revealed poor workmanship — no slurry (despite it being in the contract) and patchy crumbling mortar beds, with most slabs coming away clean with no mortar adhesion at all. Several independent landscapers have told me this is among the worst patio work they’ve ever seen. All patios and paths now need to be re-laid at significant cost.

When I contacted the company director, I was met with a dismissive response that they “can’t come back after 4/5 years.” While legally they may be within their rights, their refusal to take responsibility speaks volumes about their priorities.

In my opinion, once the honeymoon period is over, you may be left — as we have been — with poor workmanship, costly repairs, and no accountability.

They fitted my artificial grass. After the first month I had to call them back as it is waterlogged. They refused to help me unless I pay another 2grand!! See profile picture for reference.
This was one of my main concerns prior to installation - Eddie told me if this was to happen he would be back to sort it in a flash, free of charge. Do not trust Eddie. Use a local landscaper instead.

I had my artificial grass fitted 2 years ago beginning of last year I emailed as my lawn started to lift up I was told someone would be round as soon as the weather got better! Over a year later and I am still waiting! Not only this was told that the lawn wouldn’t have any odour from our dogs however I was fooled as no matter what I seem to do there is an odour coming from it no matter how much I wash it! Still waiting for a reply and the after sales from these are awful! Would strongly recommend staying away from blackstroud/new lawn as they don’t seem to worry about after sales at all!

We had artificial grass installed around a swim spa. Really pleased with the artificial grass and the installation. We are eight months on and it still looks excellent and like new and we have had no issues with it. It has transformed the area around the swim spa. Friendly team that did the installation and explained everything.

Excellent service! Very satisfied with the work carried out. On time, tidy and worked hard would recommend.

Really impressed with the artificial grass and patio install, lads were on time also reliable very professional and kept me updated the hole way through even when facing tough weather conditions. Office staff were great a good experience from start to finish will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Got 3 quotes and was met by the very informative Ben who knew his stuff talked a great game, committed to go with him or thou he wasn't thr cheapest of the quotes made me feel at ease. Then read the negative reviews about bankruptcy and previous workmanship, messaged Ben for reassurance and gave it, on the day of the job 50% paid and on completion balance due, next day when balance due and before workmen left mentioned I was unhappy and pointed out areas only to be told " its the part at the end of a role and will iron out in 10 days" paid balance in good faith and waited as instructed, 10 days passed and still not great had an independent inspection who said work wasn't great, chased Tiffany and Ben numerous times and they then got the manufactor to come and inspect they did and caught him on several videos saying it come good in better /hotter weather can be replaced later down the line blah blah blah, he persisted to rub parts with a hand brush and kept saying it needs hot water ( to give it life) chased Ben/Tiffany a few more times and nothing so sent in s trading standards letter to them advising will go to small claims court, they kept saying needs to be power brushed again and that will sort, they came back today to do ( in the rain ) and would only leave my property after insisting I emailed the office to confirm all in order which was made to do, in summary not a great job and typically Ben priced talks a good game doesn't install himself and then not great in dealing with issues, beware!

We deliberated over a few weeks whether or not to go with NewLawn. Although competitively priced for a premium product they were at the limit of our budget. That being said their grass was the best so we took the plunge & went with them.

Throughout the decision process they maintained good communication & didn’t fuss when additional requests for further information, site visits & changes of plans were made. The service from start to finish was impeccable & the installation was quick, the installers efficient, friendly & clean. As with the service prior to installation the three guys installing were happy to tend to my requests & provide solutions of their own to my queries.

I am very happy I decided to go with NewLawn my new lawn (pun intended) looks great & the kids love it.

I would highly recommend New Lawn, really happy with the results!

During Sep. 22 Newlawn worked my back and front garden to replace natural grass with artificial turf. I paid £5k and with this I got 10 years grass warranty and 3 years labour warranty. A week ago, I realised that one of the manholes within my garden was not treated properly and now is not accessible in case of emergency. I tried to use the labour warranty because this was a clear mistake from Newlawn, and guess what. i realised that the Newlawn I did business with 1 year ago got bankrupt and the labour warranty is nothing else but rubbish. Eddie who managed my project back in time, explained that Black Stroud which acquired the brand name of Newlawn only and nothing else (liabilities warranties etc) is not going to cover the labour warranty. On top of that, after I tried to explain my situation and how unfair all this sounds to me, Eddie told me that he would talk to his Director, explain my situation and try to give me a very reasonable quote to fix the issue. And guess what again... I was just been told that they're not willing at all to take the job and fix this mess for me. Even if we agreed that this would not be free of charge.

You want to trust the work ethics of these people? Please do it but make sure that all the warranties they'll provide will be backed up property by an Insurance Broker. Let me be the last victim of them.

I know the management is not the same behind Newlawn at the moment, but I have all the right to leave a review for the brand name: Newlawn, the same brand name that took 5k out of my pocket and created this mess.

Installed grass 12 months ago, have emailed as grass is sinking needs to be fixed. Absolutely no response. Wouldn’t recommend this company

The guys that did the fitting were really professional and lovely to talk to and the lawn itself looks flawless.

Hi All,

We purchase the pet friendly range because we have a dog, the area is 28 square meters. The description states the grass is odour resistant which sounded perfect for us. The grass was installed in march and recently since the weather has got warmer we have noticed an overwhelming pong, it has ruined our garden any entertaining for the summer. Mind you it isn’t the height of summer yet and I believe it will get worse, we can’t have windows or doors open because of this. We have spent over £100 over the last 2 weeks on products to eliminate the ping which have all failed. I would recommend you all steer well clear of this company because the product they are selling isn’t fit for purpose. They were meant to come out today to assess the situation but we received an email stating they are short staffed today and tried to fob us off with an response. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
