Recent car loan denial with a credit union
Recently needed to purchase a car, went to my credit union to get pre approved 1st.Auburn University Credit Union (AUCU) was very disappointing! I have a good credit score, excellent payment history, very few inquiries with Transunion (3), good credit mix and have a relationship with them for 4 years! Was recently denied for a car loan without even being offered a counter! On the same day went to another local credit union with whom I had NO relationship and was approved without any problems! It was very disheartening to receive a denial from the bank I have a relationship with! I called to speak with the car loan officer prior to applying online and received an email with the denial. I’m not sure what is going on with AUCU but what I do know is “don’t trust them”!!!!!! My experience was horrible during a time of frustration of absolutely needing a vehicle. Customer service to their member was disappointing and not friendly! Do your research and find a credit union that actually cares about its members and don’t just state it on advertising but legitimately does! This is my true experience with hopes that it helps someone else who may have been thinking about using them! Btw, will be closing my account with them immediately!!
