Hidden import fee that cost half the…

Hidden import fee that cost half the price of the knife.
You have to dig deep on their website to see the small print where it says import fees may apply in your country of origin.

Pretty sneaky move, it should be shown clearly when ordering, but if they did this no one would order.

I swallowed the fee as from reading the reviews on here, it didn’t seem like I’d get a refund or any help trying to send it back.

Unlike myself I hope people read the reviews before ordering from here.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. Massive import tax that feels like a surprise. Incredibly long waiting times. Think carefully before ordering here and make sure to budget 50% of the value of the knife for import tax.

Taxes douanières trop élevées

Hello, I bought a knife from Musashi in August 2025. I received it, but to be delivered by DHL, I learned at the last minute that I had to pay €71 in customs taxes. This is in addition to the €18 shipping costs. It's quite unpleasant to see that 60% of the total price is made up of additional costs. I regret not having been warned beforehand by the site. From now on, I will buy French!

Garbage customer service

First bought a knife from them for over 150$ and it arrived cracked. Instantly contacted customer service to address the problem then after a month they agreed to take it back and give me a full refund. They never never sent me my money back or gave me a shipping label for the return. It has now been closer to 2-3 months since and they stopped answering my emails completely. This company is garbage dont buy here.

The blade didn´t even survive the first cut, as it was crumbling apart. Customer service blamed me and was not willing to replace the knife.
Although there are rules for internet trading in Europe, allowing to send back the item within 14 days, I had no chance to send it back according to their terms and conditions.
Also there are high import taxes to pay, although the web-address that was shown mentioned Munich as the location of the shop. In the end the blade came from Japan, I had to pay high import taxes, the knife was broken, and sending it back and pay for repair would have been too expensive. I´m just very disappointed!

I bought 5 knife locally for 200 000 Yen and thought that the quality was top. BUT at the first useage, the tip broque, the blade bend like soft supermarket low quality imports, and of course no aftersale service. After several attempts the stored accepted to replace the knife but did not identify any reason for the failure.

At first glance the knife looks great

At first glance the knife looks great. Upon looking through the pictures though, the tang isn't fully seated into the handle. You can see the shoulders way out of the handle instead of butted firmly against the handle. This will fail and come apart way sooner than the 600$ price tag would justify. The grind and polish looks fine, but if missing that attention to detail, i doing it would last long.
