⭐ Very Disappointing Conservatory Project

⭐ Conservatory Project Disappointing Experience with Mozolowski & Murray
Tagline: Good design and reputation — but poor workmanship, weak management, and 17 months to fix major faults.
We hired Mozolowski & Murray (M&M) for two projects: an orangery extension and a rebuild of our atrium entrance area with a new roof. We chose them for their strong reputation and were willing to pay premium prices for quality and reliability.
The orangery, completed in May 2024, went smoothly and on schedule. Unfortunately, the atrium project was a very different story.
The new roof leaked within weeks (June 2024) but they demanded our final payment, which we held back. M&M downplayed the problem and made several poor repair attempts, some making the leaks worse. Despite repeated requests, no senior staff came to inspect the work. We eventually had to hire our own independent surveyor, who confirmed major faults. The roof was completely rebuilt in Autumn 2024, yet continued to leak until the manufacturer, Fatra, finally made it watertight in March 2025.
Other issues included missing drainage channels, damp-proofing gaps, sticking and leaking doors (taking four visits to fix), and a failed electric vent system with no manual override.
At the final inspection Building Control identified a defect at ground level below a lintel which would allow vermin to enter the underfloor area and required the defect was covered with wire mesh and gravel before sign-off. The company suggested we buy the materials and make good or wait four months until they were next in the area!
The biggest disappointment was senior management’s attitude. They tried to collect the final payment before snagging was complete, minimised our complaints, blamed condensation for obvious leaks, and only apologised when we demanded it in writing. Promises to replace the faulty electric system were also broken.
If you decide to use M&M, I strongly recommend hiring your own Building Surveyor and withholding final payment until at least a month after full completion.
Our orangery was excellent — but the atrium rebuild was a 17-month ordeal that exposed serious failings in M&M’s aftercare and accountability.
