Electronics hobby/fix-it guy
I am a electronics hobby/fix-it guy and have been buying small orders for years. I have never had a problem with any order. I have always been extremely satisfied. I expect this order will be the same as in the past.
Poor initial customer service experience during a return
We had ordered an eval board from Mouser. When we received it, the ant-static bag was unsealed and open. We decided to return it. When they got it back, they refused the return, stating the anti-static bag had been opened. When I tried to explain to them that I received it that way, their reply was that "ESD items with a broken seal do not represent the quality of items Mouser ships out, Mouser should have been informed of the broken seal on an ESD packaging". This statement clearly shows a lack of attention to their own process. They refused to admit or even acknowledge that they can make mistakes. It wasn't until I told them I wanted to delete my account and never order from them again that they made a 'one-time exception' and reversed their decision. For future reference, ALWAYS notify them immediately if you receive a package that has already been opened or tampered with.

Parts extraordinary
Ordering process is streamlined and easy for me, a computer illiterate, person to easily locate parts and place the order. A warehouse close by makes shipping less expensive as well as Next Day delivery with Ground Shipping. The ability to order only one part is great as I don't have to deal with ordering 100 parts when only one is needed,.

Complaint Regarding Unreasonable Export Compliance Procedures
I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience ordering from Mouser Electronics.
My order consisted of a single Nucleo development board, intended solely for personal educational purposes – studying the board and developing software for it using the Zephyr RTOS. This purchase was made as a private individual, not on behalf of any company or organization.
Despite the trivial nature of the order, I was required to fill out lengthy export compliance forms, including questions about resale, bypassing sanctions, and potential military applications. Such procedures are completely disproportionate for a one-unit, hobbyist-level purchase by a private customer.
My order was placed from Turkey to Georgia, not from or to the United States. Nevertheless, I was subjected to an excessive compliance process that wasted my time and delayed the order. In the end, I decided to cancel the order, as I could have received the same product from China in less time without going through such unreasonable bureaucracy.
I understand that Mouser must comply with relevant laws and regulations, but the way these policies are implemented here is customer-unfriendly and discouraging for private buyers. The export control burden should be handled internally by the company, not pushed onto individual customers ordering single low-value development kits.
If Mouser wishes to retain international hobbyist and maker customers, the company should streamline compliance for low-value, single-unit orders from private individuals, particularly when there is no reasonable possibility of export violations. Otherwise, customers will simply purchase from alternative suppliers who offer a smoother and faster ordering process.
This experience has left me with a negative impression, and I will reconsider using Mouser for future personal purchases.

Held money for 16 days and no delivery
Placed a and pre-paid for a simple order for 2 items — day later Mouser requested "end-user" documentation as they are shipping parts from USA. During the order it was nowhere said we'll be asked to fill couple pages of documentation. We were ordering from a UK based company not intending to import whatsoever.
While they were still “processing” the order, I re-ordered from a competitor and received the same items next day.
We've been chasing for nearly two weeks for the payment to be returned, costing multiple emails, after speaking on the phone still need to wait until the end of the week as their accounts, as I was told on the phone, "can be slow".
Order canceled, business lost. Never again.

Placed a simple order Ridiculously Bureaucratic and Slow — Took My Business Elsewherefor 4 generic…
Placed a simple order for 4 generic lenses — Mouser held my payment for 3 days requesting irrelevant "end-user" documentation. While they were still “processing” the order, I re-ordered from a competitor and received shipping confirmation the same day.
Their support process is slow, disconnected, and insulting for such low-value, off-the-shelf items. If this is how they handle small orders, I can’t imagine trusting them with larger ones.
Order canceled, business lost. Never again.

Great Customer Service!
I recently started a small audio repair business and needed to add tax exempt purchasing to Mouser orders. I spoke with very nice, cordial, and helpful women today in the process of getting things in order. Clearly, I was the impediment to progress and they were all as patient and understanding as they could be. (I used to run a 9-1-1 center and know how people 'can be' and these gals did a great job!) Please extend my appreciation to the crew on duty just now!
