Quality item and service

I have just had the most wonderful experience with this company. My Duffle has done sterling service, but the toggle strings are now showing real signs of wear and fraying.
I contacted Montgomery Duffles and outlined the problem. After answering a few questions and sending them some pictures, today I received ample replacement strings and four spare toggles. They were fast efficient and outstandingly helpful. I am so impressed.
I’m now 70. My dad had one of these during his National Service in the Navy and he said that there was nothing better for keeping you warm, even when they were soaked through with sea water. They are ACE. So is the Company. Thank you.

Idiot labrador

My idiot labrador chewed the lowest of the wooden toggles along with its cord clean off, whilst the coat was hanging in the hallway.
I emailed Montgomery, hoping to be able to buy a replacement toggle. They replied quickly, they said they'd be very happy to send me a replacement and there'd be no charge. Not even the postage. I insisted -this was not their fault. They wouldn't have it and have sent me replacement parts, free of charge.
Wonderful, old fashioned attitude to customer service, so rare today.
I love my coat. Thank you!

Had a bit of a frustrating start as I…

Had a bit of a frustrating start as I had measured myself and decided to get a small royal blue London fit duffle coat which should fit perfectly with a bit of room to allow for a thick jumper to be worn. I got my delivery within a few days and tried it on, to find it was huge - it was so baggy but the label said size small. I exchanged it for an XS which again came very quickly but was unfortunately that little bit too tight. How can there be such a huge difference between an xs and a small? so I called their customer service number and the gentleman who answered said he doesn’t have an answer and they aren’t responsible for the sizing??
I exchanged again for a small and the one that arrived this time was the perfect fit and I am very happy with the purchase.
Not sure what happened with the first order that arrived, I have a feeling it was labelled incorrectly and I had to spend an additional £22 having to return the 2 jackets.
Anyway, I love my new duffle coat, it fits well (finally) and feels and looks lovely on.

Ordered replacement duffle coat (had previous one over 8 years) on Wednesday 24th arrived perfectly packed on Sunday 28th.
Great fit great quality.
Love this company. Long may they keep on selling (at least for another 8 years)

Buyer please beware...,,

Buyer please beware - do not buy from this terrible company. Don’t take the chance like I did, read the reviews, after I’ve read the other reviews as it appears I am not alone.
I ordered a leather and wool coat and it didn’t arrive until I had to email the company several times. Never arrived, I need my money back now!

Buyer be aware

Buyer beware - do not buy from this ‘family’ company. Wish I’d read the other reviews as it appears I am not alone.
I ordered a duffel coat and it was delivered fine, but even though I measured myself precisely, when it arrived it was just too small. So, I sent it back via courier and it was received by them on Monday 4th. I requested a replacement of the next size up. I have received no acknowledgement of receipt, two emails have been ignored and when you phone you get an answer machine. I left a message but have had no response.
To the company – if you cannot handle after-sales, then stop selling.
If I don’t get anything by the start of next week then I’ll pursue action to get my money back. I’ll change this review as and when circumstances change.

Having just written above and having sent a third, direct, email - I got a quick reply. I have requested a refund so now three stars. Watch this space..
====Further Update===============
They have agreed to a refund but I am still waiting for it to be credited to PayPal - almost a month later. When they reply to emails they apologise and say it will be a few days - but I am still waiting. I feel a PayPal claim is about to be initiated.
====Final Update=================
Full refund has now been received to PayPal. Shame that the process was made to be so difficult.

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company, the worst customer service. If you send a coat back, you will not see your money back unless you involve paypal and then wait for weeks.

Looking forwards to winter!

Just purchased a royal blue size 8 womans classic duffle coat, absolutely delighted, being 5 ft 1 and 8.5 stone i worried about the fit, but no need, fits really well, looks brilliant with boots or shoes, really pleased, would recommend all day long, looking forwards to not being freezing standing at bus stop 5.25am and being comfy.

Great buy!

Ordered a pea coat yesterday after lunch and it arrived this morning just after 10am! Totally amazing! Lovely coat, well made and in England too. The fabric is excellent quality and I can vouch for that because I already have a Montgomery duffel coat made from exactly the same fabric. I have had it quite a while and it still looks like new.

Terrible service

Ordered a coat from this company well in time for Xmas. Kept telling me courier had attempted delivery, which was absolute tosh. Kept promising delivery everyday. Refused to refund money when I asked extending delivery time. Good job I'd paid by PayPal, had to open dispute after ordering mid December had to wait until today for refund.
