I woke up next day with my account blocked without any explanation and I cannot withdraw the money out of the account and there is no one you can chat with !
Monese offer competitive exchange rates on a range of currencies and their app is intuitive and easy to use.
I am very happy with the service. One small improvement I would suggest is that when a payment fails but money is still deducted from the account, it would be better if the money could be refunded immediately.
It says you can get an advance and every time I tried it says error so its pointless then charges you to take your own money out.

I have been using Monese for years, and my experience is mixed. Basically, they are good, but only when they want to be. I am leaving this negative review in the hope that it will be read and that my case will be handled quickly. If that happens, I will revise my rating.
On 25 April 2026, I asked Monese via email at support@_____ to update my country of tax residence. I provided supporting evidence and gave my new residential address. I did this at the same time as updating three other banks – this way, I keep all documents handy and automatically share the same document with all banks whenever one asks for it. In theory, this is the fastest way to get everything done. Not with Monese.
While the other three banks were able to make the changes in accordance with the law, Monese has still accomplished nothing. After many reminders, they asked me for the same documents I had already attached to my immediately previous email (does that mean they give automated replies without reading?). I need to file my tax return and declare my Monese IBAN as a foreign IBAN, but I am stuck because Monese cannot update my details. I moved between two EU countries, so based on a recent bank statement, the local tax identification number, and a document proving residency, this should be easy to handle. I am at risk of a fine because they cannot update my details in a reasonable time.
I am writing this on 8 May 2026. I have already emptied the account. I will wait a few more days and then proceed to request account closure to avoid incurring fines. I have repeatedly stressed that if they did not update my account immediately, I would leave a negative review here. They appear and disappear, and when they do appear, they give answers that neither solve nor advance my case.
If, of course, someone manages to take over my case and resolve it immediately, I will correct this review.
