A Gallery with no Customer Respect or Service
Three weeks ago we bought what was described by the artist as an original painting from his gallery. Being original we asked for a Certificate of Authenticity to ensure its providence for the future.
The artist stated he was more than willing to supply and would send one on when after we had emailed him our email address. This was duly sent next morning.
Nothing was heard with us eventually contacting him 3 times by phone and 3 times by email asking where the the certificate was to be met with a different excuse each time.
After 3 weeks of this one last call was made with him accusing us of being hysterical but finally posting a piece of paper out. It’s supposed to be a certificate but is just some scrawled handwriting on a scrappy piece of paper that has other unrelated writing on the back.
The gallery is in a high tourist area and this owner/artist we believe, seems to think he can just tell the passing tourist trade anything they want to hear to get the sale as they will never be seen again.
In our experience, treating the paying customer with total contempt seems to be the way to go at this gallery.
If you are happy to be treated with total disdain, then this is the place to go; otherwise, go somewhere more friendly and with more scruples as this owner is sadly lacking in all things positive.
