Refund Failed by Merchant and Financing Partner – No Resolution After Months

I am filing this complaint regarding Milan Laser Hair Removal’s failure to provide services as represented and failure to ensure completion of an agreed-upon refund.

I purchased an “unlimited” package based on representations that scheduling would be reasonably accessible and flexible. In reality, I was required to book appointments months in advance, which was never disclosed at the time of sale and is not compatible with my work and travel schedule.

In addition, I had appointments that were scheduled months in advance canceled last minute by the laser center, further limiting my ability to receive services. I was also informed that only very limited appointment times were available and was asked to split my treatments across multiple different days in close succession in order to complete different areas. This is not feasible given my schedule and is not what I agreed to when purchasing the package.

Due to these issues, Milan Laser Hair Removal agreed to issue a full refund.

That refund has still not been completed.

Milan processes refunds through Synchrony Bank, and for over six months I have been attempting to obtain the funds owed to me. During this time:
• I have never received the refund check
• The check has never been deposited or cashed
• I requested a stop payment after confirming non-receipt
• Synchrony has repeatedly claimed the check was sent with tracking but has failed to provide any tracking information for months
• Synchrony has now stated they will not reissue the check

This has resulted in an indefinite delay of a refund that Milan already agreed to provide.

I have made extensive efforts to resolve this matter, including numerous calls with both Milan and Synchrony, and have been given inconsistent explanations without resolution. Despite being the originating merchant and the party that agreed to the refund, Milan has not taken appropriate action to ensure the refund is actually completed.
I have already filed complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the California Attorney General’s Office and am prepared to pursue further action if this matter is not resolved.

Unwelcoming Environment and Unprofessional Conduct

My experience at the Milan Laser Hair Removal location in Jacksonville, NC was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. I arrived a few minutes early for my 4:00 PM consultation and immediately sensed attitude from the staff member at the front desk. While I waited, she openly discussed personal matters and volunteered unnecessary information about young girls receiving free underarm treatments because their mother works there. This felt inappropriate and unprofessional to share with a client.

During the consultation, I explained that I couldn’t see the pricing screen clearly due to recently needing glasses and asked her to continue verbally. As I asked normal clarifying questions about pricing, discounts, and why she kept repeating “minus $20,” she abruptly told me she had “respected me and expected the same respect,” implying I was being disrespectful simply for asking questions. When I asked what she meant, she claimed I had “cut her off multiple times.”

The interaction became so uncomfortable that I ended the consultation. When I expressed that her behavior felt personal and possibly biased, she responded by mentioning she has a mixed child—an irrelevant and dismissive comment that did nothing to address the issue.

I left feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and shocked by the lack of professionalism and emotional intelligence. This experience does not reflect the level of service I expected from a company like Milan Laser, and I hope corporate reviews the conduct at this location.

Misrepresentation of Contract

I purchased a “lifetime” laser hair removal package for approximately $6,077 based on the understanding that I would have ongoing access to treatment. The service was marketed as lifetime coverage, which was a major factor in my decision to purchase.

Recently, the company terminated my agreement and informed me they were separating from me as a client under a zero-tolerance policy. I was not provided with specific details about what policy was allegedly violated, despite requesting clarification.

Following termination, the company reclassified lifetime payment as “services rendered” and charged me my entire lifetime payment for services already rendered and gave some sort of back charge per session rate. This was based on a recalculation of prior sessions at what appears to be non-discounted rates.

While I understand that businesses have policies and the right to discontinue service, the experience of advertising a lifetime package and then terminating the agreement while retaining the majority of the prepaid amount is deeply disappointing.

I imagine this is a strategic tactic to justify budget cuts and gaslighting customers seems to be part of that process. I can't imagine what could have happened. I'd be curious to see the "evidence" of such.

Only Buy laser service While Young

In my mid-60s my thought was to prevent the whiskers so common in post menopause women. The representative looked at my face last spring and assured me that the "heavy white hairs" would not respond to laser treatment. Fine. The line given was that "most of the hairs" between my nose & lips had "darkness to them" that would be eliminated after a series of Milan laser sessions.
At the recent appointment I was told not to shave beforehand so my hair could be evaluated again. The nurse who treated me let me know that most of my hairs are white. She was content to do a small part of the area I pay for. My guess is that she saw no reason to treat hairs that would not effectively be treated by the laser procedure. No concern for the phenomenal fee I pay to have my face cleared of unwanted hairs for multiple years. Then my next visit was scheduled in ten weeks or "two growth cycles." Refunds are never made, no matter the lies or errors. It is too bad my hair is not responding as predicted.
Know that Scandinavian hair tends to be light in color and hence does not die from multiple laser treatments. Should you have light facial hair don't waste your money on Milan laser. Donate it and you will feel better in the long run.

TERRIBLE! Do **NOT** waste your time

I started using Milan Laser early 2024 and I thought having 300+ locations with a 'lifetime' warranty/sessions was great...NOT

First month in Milan cancels my appt. because of a flooding problem at that location (Vernon Hills, IL.). Then about the third appt. had to be canceled again Park Ridge, IL. location due to staffing issues.

Now June 2024 in the middle of my session the Berwyn, IL. location lost power (no was NOT an act of God). Same location (Berwyn IL.) for this month AGAIN staffing issues. I have ASKED for a FULL REFUND from Milan Laser which they have REFUSED.

Finally it looks like we are headed to court to get my money back ($15k)...PLEASE do NOT waste time visiting this business. You will be miserable like myself.

Great experience every time I go in…

Great experience every time I go in there. I for the first 3 body parts, underarms, upper lip and unibrow I have financed through CareCredit which was awesome and a breeze. Never had a single issue with them not one time. The staff are always really friendly and they have AMAZING deals! Totally recommend 100%!

Milan Laser is scamming people

Milan Laser is scamming people because Milan makes it EXTREMELY hard to get the schedule treatments and when you are able to get an appt. Milan cancels when it's convenient for Milan. Milan Laser has done this 2+ times to me BUT Milan Laser expects the monthly payments (Milan financed a portion of the amount). Milan Laser has already received $7k from me BUT only received 3 treatments.

I’ve been going since October 29, 2022 and will admit, doing the laser hair removal is the BEST decision I’ve made; Milan Laser was the BEST place for me to go!

I definitely recommend their Business!

Refused to Close Account as Promised

I decided to cancel my services with them before I started.

Was told it would be taken care of, it wasn’t. So I contacted Corporate and Ally to cancel. Was told again by two people everything will be taken care of.

A week later I get a bunch of calls, text, and a nasty email from Samantha Aguilera demanding to talk to me and threatened she will not close my account. When I asked what information she needed, only to know why I am closing my account. Essentially a pressure tactic to force me to keep the account. I let her know I have already provided this information three times and asked her to close the account again.
