Overcharged my credit card and won't refund. I already emailed billing without answer.

Great product, terrible company, questionable ethics.

I bought a subscription for a year and probably used it for a couple of weeks as I got very bored, very quickly of the terrible quality of the images it produced. Today (1 year later) they charged me for another year without any warning whatsoever. I don’t know how this is legal but please be aware of this when dealing with these scammers.

Do not know why it has so low rate. I used it for 3 months. Althought it is a little bit expensive, it can generate the pictures for my work. I like it.

I wanted to create one more update to just say that after the initial set backs I wanted to add an extra star to make it 4-star. Although the hassle was unfortunate it was still worth signing up to and having fun creating images.

Day 7 update: I've changed my star rating from 1 to 3 because the problem has been resolved.

I hope this info help someone else: in an email from Midjourney, and I quote, "...the problem is often that your subscription is on the wrong Discord account - Discord makes it unfortunately easy to accidentally create a new account without realising it when you meant to sign into the Midjourney website."

When I was in the process of getting the subscription an additional number e.g. _1235 was added to my existing username. Something I didn't even notice. As soon as I'd subscribed I did see a banner saying something along the lines of... this has not been claimed, claim it before it's gone. When I clicked on this it asked me to enter an email and password, when I would enter my normal login details it would say this email is already in use. I was confused and didn't know why it was making me 'claim' another user account so I closed up everything. Logged back in and whatever username that was lost to me.

So be careful of this... make sure this hasn't happened to you when you subscribe.

Midjourney, cancelled the subscription and credited the correct account so that I could resubscribe on the correct username. This time it was successful and I look forward trying it out.

Update: Still no resolution. Today, I finally received a reply from Midjourney. There’s been a lot of back-and-forth, with Discord attributing the problem to Midjourney, and vice versa. At this point, I am unsure how to proceed. At the end of the day, my subscription is with Midjourney. There is a fundamental issue with the way their systems are tied together.

Paid for an annual Midjourney subscription on Friday, tomorrow is Thursday a week later and I've never been able to use it even though I'm logged in using exactly the same email that the invoice and receipt was sent to. It doesn't show up, just tells me to subscribe. Customer service response very slow and by the sound of other complaints I'm less than hopeful it'll be resolved quickly, I've already wasted 2 full days trouble shooting this. Just blows my mind there are so many complaints about this and they haven't sorted these type of billing issues and account access out. Feel sorry for those peeps that purchase a month subscription and these issues eat into it. Feel more sorry for mugs like me that used saving to pay for a year subscription they can't access.

Midjourney allows free account.
So I got one with my google mail.
I fiddled a little with it and after five pictures. I got a message I am out of fast hours and have to go 'slow mode'

I checked : Instead of having pic in 1mn, you got pic in 10mn. Well it's free. I can wait.

Except no : You ONLY got 5 pic with your free account. That slow mode, is paying. You are asked to pay for something that is lesser quality than your free account.
Oh, and those 5 pictures ... it's for live ! Your 'Free account' only allows you 5 pic EVER for the next century.
It's just cash grab. It would have been OK with 6 pic a day, but no ... Greed is a virtue now.

Scammiest method to get money, can't accept it.

Midjourney is a scam. Beware. Your account would be banned and your money will not be refunded. You would not be told why your account was banned. There are zillion customers who have been scammed this way, including me. Their customer service is pathetic and you would not get any response whatsoever when you write to them about your account being banned.
Visit the Reddit forum on this topic and you would see a sea of people scammed by Midjourney. Honestly, Its MidJourney that needs to be BANNED

I was scammed. I never used any service from midjourney. but they took money 4 times within a span of one minute. when i disputed for refund they says they can't help. I don't know how they managed to get my card details to fish out money . I don't even heard about this company before i was scammed.

Bellow is the reply i got when i complained

"Following a detailed review of your account and transaction history, we are unable to fully determine the origin of the charges in question. However, our investigation has not produced conclusive evidence to suggest that the transactions were actually unauthorized.

Unfortunately, per our policies, we are unable to issue a refund for transactions that have been utilized. "

I was charged 5 times to my card. Two of those charges went through and the company refused to refund my money. They just ignored the fact that I never had an account with them nor ever used their services. I am clueless as to how they got my card information as well. This company has FRAUD written all over it.

I was among the first people to test Midjourney (back when there were still free trial periods) and I have been watching this company ever since. MJ is currently being sued by a number of artists and other companies for using tons of stolen images to train their AI. They created a list of thousands of artists' names, living people who have been reduced to styles. My own experiments show you can easily create plagiaristic images without instructing the AI to do so. And if you do, well you are liable, because by agreeing to their ToS you accept that everything illegal their AI might do is completely your fault. Speaking of their ToS, it literally (!) threatened users with "We'll come find you" and "We might also do other stuff" to you.

Midjourney is misleading people into signing up to their PAID SUBSCRIPTION. It offers unlimited image generation and Fast Hours, Concurrent Jobs etc as its features. HOWEVER when you generate a lot of images within the set Terms of service it blocks you and that's it. You have no say in it. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. IL-TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS, AN ABSOLUTE EXPLOITATION. WHAT MAKES IT WORSE IS THAT YOU DO NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK.....DAY LIGHT ROBBERY

I bought a full year subscription to Midjourney in 2023. Sometime before my renewal date there was suspicious activity on my credit card so I cancelled my card and got a new one. I didn't bother cancelling my Midjourney subscription because the card I used to subscribe was no longer valid I figured they couldn't charge it. To my utter surprise, they were able to charge it. But the worst part is that they never sent a reminder that my renewal date was approaching so they simply were able to bill my canceled card without providing prior notice. I would avoid this company. There are other tools available that aren't one trick ponies and won't resort to underhanded business practices to sell you something you don't want.

I subscribe to midjourney Alpha. I tested the consistency feature for anime, pixar style and photo realistic characters using cw 0 and cw 100. when looking carefully at it aka zoom in, i found that Midjourney didn't get all details of character outfit that I gave him as image reference. Also, midjourney often bypass my parts of my requests that are in the prompt. I guess midjourney pay now to allow Midjourney to get developped and someday mature enough for a professional use.
Right now, it can be useful to illustrate blogs with small pictures but it is very limited. don't believe the youtube hype.

Midjourney is an absolute game-changer! The range of stunning AI-generated art is mind-blowing, and the customization options are fantastic. It's user-friendly, constantly updated, and the support team is excellent, from the guides in member support to the excellent billing support team. Hopping in the Discord it feels like a true community, unlike many others, could not recommend more!

Try to contact they support since my credit card got charged without my consent. They only said "However, our investigation has not produced conclusive evidence to suggest that the transaction was unauthorized". Freakin scam company.

This is a scam and fraudulent company.
They may have software solutions but their big-time earnings probably is from cheating poor people on their credit cards!!

There were 3 unsolicited transactions on my credit card and was charged US120 three times. They need to be blacklisted.

They have no proper support call number and their billing support is another con-artist. Initially said would help to refund the fraudulent transactions and later turned around on me saying the dispute was resolved without even doing anything from their end.

Three receipts of mega plan subscription were illicitly charged to my credit card for April 19-May 19, 2024. If they are an honest and respectful company, they should refund these transactions that have happened - they should know for which login ID was these receipts were purchased and track the log for actions. Instead, they didn't do any of those things.

They don't even deserve a single-star rating on this site.

I paid them +570$ yearly plan which say unlimited relax generations . but after 2 weeks they banned my account telling cuz I'm using bot to generate , what the hack !!!!!!!

I contacted stripe they told they don't have dispute option , thats why midjourney not offer paypal as payment method , coz simply the can stolen your money and you cant do any thing

I contacted them on discord support an throw email billing and all available email ,in the next day they updated the policy , they responded so rude and told no money will be returned ,

I never used bot , also until today the plan still say unlimited generations to scam new users

even if I'm using bot you can't act like fraud and stolen my whole year money , you can take used 2 weeks money and refund the money of 11 months

also you can put limit if insted of stolen users money !!!!!!

also you cant disrespect people like that , what a shame !!!!!!!!

there is a lot of other better options companies , don't use this website at all , find other cheaper and better

Utterly terrible. I'm shocked the billing practices are legal (are they?). I cancelled my sub over a year ago and have been charged $10 a month since then. I have contacted billing support 4 times trying to get these charges cancelled and they keep coming. Midjourney says I don't have a sub, but the charges keep coming. Help!

Asked for refund but looks like money what matters to them instead of customers... anyway looters always works this way. Stay away from biggest scam stole millions of arts from others.

Signed up for a subscription, the monthly fee was taken out of my bank account, but my subscription has not been activated. Of course, the support channel does not even work so there is no way to contact the company.

Discord has disabled my account due to a purported violation of the Terms of Service/Community Guidelines. However I am not aware of doing anything wrong as I have only used Discord to communicate with the Midjourney bot.

Discord does not reply to my messages and Midjourney is not willing to help in this matter.

In order to continue working with Midjourney the only solution is to create a new Discord account.

However, I will loose the images I have created with server time I have paid for.

Midjourney cannot provide access to these images anymore, even though the images seem to be archived on Midjourney, and not on Discord.

Also, Midjourney does not refund money for the server time. They do not understand my goal as a customer is to create images, not to play on their servers. So if I cannot acces my images anymore, in my eyes I paid for nothing.
