There’s no useless website like midjourney.com. I used this website for a few months, and their support is really bad—you won’t get any help from them. Now I use Ideogram. There are many websites like MidJourney that charge less, provide similar results, and offer better support. So I think it’s best to avoid this website. This isn’t just my opinion; many people have complained about this site.

This app, or site, or AI, whatever it is, is just pure trash! I don't really understand what the hype surrounding this AI is for but my experience with it has been beyond horrible. I see a lot of videos on youtube praising mid journey and bro, I'm now convinced these creators are paid to sell us lies. I had to unsubscribe from every AI review YouTuber that made a misleading false positive review on mid journey. I truly dislike bashing people's efforts and creations but this AI site is total garbage. The thing can't even follow the simplest prompt "remove." It's seriously struggling to remove one person from an image it generated. A person I didn't even ask it to add. You added this person bro, you mustn't fail to remove them. Like...bro, you just CAN'T!! And when it kinda managed to remove them, it replaced them with a broom. A BROOM! I don't what humans look like brooms and I didn't ask for no brooms bro. I ask it to generate a hospital patient room and it gives me a hospital hallway with patients beds in the freaking hallway, with patients on them. The only thing I loved about them is how quickly they processed my refund. It was instant. As in quilt-trip instant. I do understand that AI has a long way to go but mid journey has a long journey to go. I don't think I'll ever use this site again, even if it got better, this just gave me trust issues!! Mid Journey? More like Safe Journey bro!

I canceled my subscription on August 10, but they still charged me on August 13 for the following year. I couldn’t believe it.

I was completely disappointed by the poor quality of the outputs. Does not follow simple prompts, nor add any value to other free tools. waste of meny.

Nobody censors as much as Midjourney. A complete waste of time.

I signed up for Midjourney using my Google account and paid for the Basic Plan. When I tried to log back in using the same account, I was suddenly prompted to sign up again — as if my account never existed. All of my design work is gone.
To make matters worse, support now expects me to provide a full breakdown of my banking details just so they can try to track the account. That is completely unreasonable.
I’ve cancelled my subscription. This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and a total waste of time and money. I would not recommend Midjourney to anyone who values their creative work or expects basic account security.
I was so excited! I dutifully went through so many tutorials before even purchasing, and while it gave a monthly amount, it actually required an annual payment, but I did it! Mid journey promised to be life -changing!
I ended up using up all of my credits pretty quick because I had difficulty with the prompts. Not the problem of mid-journey, that's me not being a good techie. But, eventually we came to one 5-second animation generation that would have worked. Hallelujah! Went to extend it to actually work with the video only to find out it was banned as inappropriate.
My video was of a soap in the shape of a fish swimming through a gentle pond, jumping out of the pond into human hands that would then use it as soap. There's really nothing inappropriate about that, but it is banned as being animal abuse.
When the error message comes up, it does give the option of notifying developers if you think the banning was an error, which I did, over and over and over. Nothing came of that. There is no direct customer service email other than billing. Instead, you are forced to join discord, which is an entirely new and confusing platform you have to learn in order to figure out what to do, and even then, you can message support all you want and there's only useless responses.
Using the billing email I got a response that mid-journey has no way of unflagging inappropriate material (a fish soap being used to wash hands in a video). In other words, all that time was wasted for a video that was never going to be able to be done anyway.
My recommendation to mid-journey is that if it is going to ban videos because the AI doesn't understand them, it should do it at the 5-second generation stage rather than at the point someone wants to try to edit their videos. You have to keep in mind, new users have to learn first how to work the program, and apparently using up all of your credits in one sitting while trying to learn is not that uncommon. It is not cool that you put in so much work only to find out you can't use it when you finally figure it out, and you've been on it too long, or spent too much time learning, you can't get a refund.
Additionally, both the email I did receive from the billing department as well as all responses to my messages in discord... I think they're AI, not human. The discord responses simply referred you to the tutorial each time with the same boiler plate response, even though I worded my question differently. The tutorial only warns against inappropriate material but does not delve into what happens if the AI interprets innocent material as inappropriate.
The billing email response came back to me within seconds of me sending it, no human could have responded that quickly. And even then, boilerplate, you can cancel your account and ask for a refund, which you can get provided you have not used up a certain amount of time, but if you have, no refund, and since you've canceled your account, you can't use it anymore so they basically keep your money for nothing.
I understand using chat bots etc. to streamline communications, but mid-journey has zero method and zero assurance that there's a human anywhere.
I am trying several AI programs simultaneously to find one that will work. Creatify and open AI both have live human customer service. It might take a couple days, but they're there for you. Just the customer service issue alone would have been enough to dump mid-journey in favor of the other two, neither of which I have decided upon yet as my forever ai.
I do not understand this wave of the future. There is no human interaction, the company decides all rules, and there is no recourse or communication whatsoever to the customer. The humans receiving the income from this are probably sitting on a beach letting AI handle all the work, which I will never accept as a person who works in the real world. Even more, I am still scratching my head trying to figure out what it is about a fish soap that would make it inappropriate. If it's animal abuse using a fish soap, Lord help me when I got to the point of using the dog soaps!
I’ve been with Midjourney since the beginning and have a large archive of generations spanning over two years. I’ve been loyal to them, but they aren’t loyal to their users. Their image filters make it impossible to generate simple, misunderstood things: no cartoon children—or animals wearing bathing suits; no babies in diapers or holding bottles; no women wearing cocktail dresses, apparently (or is it the distressed expression?). I pay $60 per month to render on the Midjourney platform—so my generations are supposed to be private. Why am I subject to image filters? Midjourney isn’t ahead of the pack anymore. It still can’t accurately handle text, and apparently its ridiculous image filters can’t accurately filter. What am I paying for, if I can’t have freedom of creation—especially since I (attempt to) render children’s cartoon illustration, and novel covers? When I've gathered up my archive and saved the one results I might want to move forward with, I’ll be cancelling.
Dear Midjourney Billing Support Team,
I am writing to request a refund for my annual subscription, which was purchased on.
I understand that the standard refund policy is based on lifetime usage. However, I would like to refer to the exception for annual subscribers mentioned in your terms of service. The policy states that refunds may be considered if the request is made within the first month of the subscription. As my purchase was made recently and my usage is within this initial one-month period, I would appreciate it if you would consider a full refund.
Here are my account details to facilitate the process:

Date of purchase: June 9, 2025.
Thank you for your time and assistance with this matter. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
I have already created several tickets and you have not responded to me Ticket #440467, #439466

I’ve been a MidJourney user and paying subscriber for over 2 years. What used to be a groundbreaking creative tool has now turned into a tightly censored, broken experience.
Their new model (V7) is terrible. It can’t draw hands, can’t render basic text, and often produces deformed results. It feels rushed and untested, yet they push it as the default experience.
Worse than the technical failures is the censorship. You can now get banned not just for what you generate on the platform, but for comments you make off-platform, like Reddit. That’s what happened to me — I got banned for expressing a sincere, critical opinion about the company’s direction. As a paying customer, I expected more professionalism and tolerance for feedback — not to be silenced for it.
On top of that, the AI moderation system is absurd. You can get flagged or banned for generating anything that vaguely resembles a woman. It’s unpredictable, inconsistent, and heavy-handed to the point of paranoia.
MidJourney has lost its way. What was once a vibrant, community-driven platform is now governed by knee-jerk censorship and a declining product.

The subscription works like a scam. There are so much more AI generating tools out there, free and paid, and Midjourney is honestly nothing worth paying for.

I initially messed up with the payments, but the support team was prompt and super helpful in resolving it. I haven’t used the service heavily yet, but so far it works well for my needs.
Thanks!

I have used Midjourney for about two years and generated around 15000 images. In the beginning it was good, since there were no real competitors and it felt exciting to explore. But the pricing has always been extreme. I paid around 800 SEK per month, which is roughly 75 USD or 70 EUR with VAT, just to have access to Relaxed generations.
Many times I would sit for hours trying to get a single image right because Midjourney often fails to understand even basic prompts. Then it happened. OpenAI released its latest image generator, and it performs far better. It understands what you mean most of the time and delivers exactly what you ask for.
To make things worse, if you cancel your subscription, your remaining credits disappear. That is a shady business practice. I am thankful that Midjourney was early in the game and gave me time to learn prompting, but overall it has been an economic burden. I will not be subscribing again.
For anyone reading this who enjoys creating AI images (video is still weak in Sora at the moment), I recommend using Sora.com together with a ChatGPT subscription
@midjourney It’s been 2 weeks since I paid for a yearly subscription, and I still have zero access.
My Discord (insightosteopathy) is correctly linked.
I've emailed support multiple times — Im just given the run around, as they say they cannot find my payment but my bank confirms they received it
This is unacceptable. Either fix this or refund me immediately.

I am one of many customers who are truly dissatisfied with Midjourney! The Site is always down, they make constant changes without telling us upfront, The Site is down at least 2 -3 times a week, but yet we have to pay without explanation… This is absolute Rubbish, The Ai Bot always tries to answer Questions that never pertain to what you ask, can’t hardly reach a Dev or they hardly ever respond, no other platform has this issue but midjourney
❌ Absolutely Rubbish!
Midjourney is an absolute disaster of an image generator. Its absurdly restrictive filters block even the most basic and harmless words, making it utterly unusable for creative work.
Spending even a single $1 on this platform is a complete waste—you'll regret it instantly.
There are far better alternatives out there that offer freedom and functionality without the ridiculous limitations.
Avoid Midjourney at all costs.
If you are considering subscribing to this service don't. I implore you to look at the other negative reviews. They will ban you and keep your money. The discord group is also full of people complaining about being banned. It is pure theft. They hide behind their ToS. They hide behind things like this... "Severe or repeated violations of the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines." They never tell you what is wrong with the prompt because they claim there is no banned words and it is all about context. They wont even advise you why it was flagged. You just get flagged then banned and you are left scrathing your head wondering why. Despite many emails asking them to look again at my account they have refused. The main issue for most is NSFW content. I do NOT want to generate NSFW content. Their image generator just gives you the NSFW content! and then they have the nerve to ban you. Fix your own product before banning users. It is utterly baffling how they would treat paying customers like this.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to leave 0 star otherwise, I would have done it. Their support is inexistent. Someone left a review 2 days ago writing they bought a subscription and the next day it said there’s no subscription. That same thing happened to me. I opened a ticket and sent them 3 emails already and I have just been ignored. But I am sure they will hurry to reply to this review to justify themselves. If you know there is a bug on the payment page, you should have the decency to abstain from taking money from people and keep it as long as it suits you while providing no service. EDIT AFTER THE REPLY: I did not lose access to Discord. Discord is working fine. The issue is on your side and it hasn't been resolved. I still have no access to my account.

I tried using Midjourney. But it wasn’t exactly what I needed. I asked them to cancel my renewal (prior to the renewal date). They charged me anyway. I tried to resolve it with Midjourney, but to no avail. I filed a fraud claim with the credit card company.
Midjourney wrote me an email and said they do not refund during a card company’s investigation. However, if I would withdraw my claim, they may be able to refund my money quicker. WHAT A SCAM! This is not a reputable company. Fortunately, I can afford to wait for the card company’s to complete its investigation, and I told them that. DO NIT DO BUSINESS with this company!
