We recently used Michael for a home purchase and were extremely impressed from start to finish. The report was clear, detailed, and easy to understand,. Communication was brilliant throughout – prompt updates, quick turnaround times, and a genuine willingness to answer questions and explain findings if required.

Their professionalism and thorough approach gave us real confidence in progressing with our purchase.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing a survey.

A very thorough survey which gave us lots of things to consider. It gave us piece of mind going through the process knowing the expertise, detail and advice given. Michael Hornsby came recommended and we would definitely use them again in future!

Used twice.
1) 2020 for a revaluation of a shared ownership property for a remortgage. Services were quick, very detailed and surveyor was on hand for follow up questions and support.
2) 2021. Due to the great service and outcome, when it came time to buying a 1930's house, I instructed MH again and again the survey was incredibly detailed and the owner (who performed the survey) helped with follow up legal questions.

I did shop around and price was fairly similar for the detailed house survey, but the shared ownership cost was considerably cheaper.

Says one thing over the phone and different response via an email.

Absolutely awful experience. The owner did the survey. Took only 10 minutes to look around the entire house. He got all the comparable houses information wrong and couldn't even tell the difference between a carpet and wood flooring. Avoid at all costs if you want a proper job completed.

Having used Michael Hornsby for a full structural survey 3 years ago on our current house, they were the obvious choice for a home buyer survey on our next home. Great service, report delivered on time, and with very helpful factual information. Great follow up to sign off works done. Overall Great Service and very professional .

Michael provided a professional and thorough survey of the property I'm purchasing - I am thrilled with the detail and care provided.
Start to finish support was available and everything was completed in a timely manner.

I paid for a Level 3 residential survey and much of it was good. It was done on time and seemed to be of good quality. It later transpired that it contained some errors, one large error was openly admitted by the company. There was very poor communication following the survey. All this had a large impact on the purchase process. I also paid for a valuation to be done but, because of the errors in the survey, it could not be trusted in my opinion. The company simply did not care about anything and refused any type of refund. Communication was at times rude and unprofessional. I would never use them again because of the error, and because the communication lacked any kind of client services. There must be better companies out there for Surveys.
