Horrendous customer service
Horrendous customer service. Booked a full service and MOT through servicing stop FOR £185 upfront.
Picked the car up from home which was good. Received multiple texts, emails and missed calls throughout the day from servicing stop to say I needed to pay an additional £250 for ‘specialist oil and brake fluid’. Called back and declined the additional oil or fluid and said I would do it myself.
I have been inundated with texts and emails to pay. I phoned the garage who REFUSED to talk to me as I had booked through third party. The man put the phone down on me, when alls I asked was did it pass the MOT.
My car was not delivered that day, and the third party refused to answer any of my calls. I sent an email to them.
I called the garage, politely, and explained that I was recording the conversation due to the man putting the phone down the previous day. Taylor, the girl speaking, became defensive and aggressive. Began arguing with me and citing that due to GDPR she couldn’t speak about my vehicle because I’m not their customer. I have the recording and will try and upload her mocking me, laughing at me and trying to over talk me on the phone. Alls I asked, was if my car had passed and could I collect my car that day. Taylor sounded very condescending, tried to belittle me and literally laughed down the phone at me. She kept telling me to listen back to the recording and asking if I was ok in a patronising manner.
2 hours later, my car was delivered home. No call, no knock on the door. Just the key through the letter box.
I will be taking it further. Thanks Taylor, for letting everyone know what the company is about.

Mersey Garages/BPARS/ whatever name of the 10+ companies Paul Jamieson is calling the “business” these days on companies house took my car and sent it to an unknown third-party garage without my consent, carried out “repairs” I didn’t know about, nor authorised, and ultimately left my car in such a poor condition, a reputable garage estimated repairs would cost 101% of the value of my car to fix!! AKA a total write off…
When I asked for basic documentation (what work had been done, receipts of payment etc) they were extremely aggressive, blocked my number and ignored all requests.
They also forgot to plug my high beam lights back in, which I discovered on a dark country lane.
With no other way to get a resolution, I took them to court and won! They didn’t turn up to court and still refused to pay, (whilst also trying to dissolve the business so to not be held accountable)so I appointed bailiffs. The owner Paul Jamieson then unblocked me just to send smug, goading messages to intimidate me.
“I saw the judgement and I must admit a wry smile crept across my face for reasons which will become apparent later in this saga.”
“Just had a lovely chat with your bailiffs, I’m sure they’ll catch up with you soon to update 👍🏼👍🏼.”
In the end, the bailiffs got the money back.
If you have already or plan on taking this “business” to court… do not give up!! Take them to court, enforce bailiffs, and you will get your money back!!
Great service from Mersey garages…
Great service from Mersey garages Liverpool. Picked my car up 8am for service and MOT and had it back to my house by 11.30 am. Very reliable, never had any problems, would recommend to anyone. Thank you team at Mersey garages.
DO NOT BOTHER
DO NOT BOTHER
Wasted my time and money. Arranged for my car to have an engine clean by means of a walnut blast. The garage phoned the week before to confirm the appointment, no issues were raised by them. I dropped my car off on Monday, was told it was a two day job. I phoned the garage on Tuesday evening to be told that the works were underway but running behind. I agreed to this, and was told to phone back Wednesday morning. I receive a phone call Wednesday morning to say they hadn’t done the work as their equipment was faulty. I was advised it would be a month before it would be working again, owing to engineers being required to fix it and I could leave the car or I could collect it. Well, no brainer considering I kinda need my car… Go to pick up the car and the staff behind the counter, particularly the black haired lady (although that term should not be used to describe her demeanour) were very rude and unapologetic. After all this they wasted my time, and cost me £30 in taxis to and from the garage (which was my fault apparently for “choosing to go to their garage”). Imagine going to a garage you thought competent. Best advice, don’t even bother picking the phone up to call, save your breath and look elsewhere!!!
Just in case the message was missed in the review - AVOID AT ALL COST!
Big thank you to Andrew and all the…
Big thank you to Andrew and all the staff for getting my car on the road so quickly as all other garages told me it was too big a job
Emergency MOT
Needed an emergency MOT as I overlooked date. Daughter recommended Mersey garages. Quick, efficient service and prompt appointment. They did not disappoint. Front of house staff were friendly and efficient and bill was reasonable. I can recommend them highly.
All round service and not to be beaten.
Had my son' Seat Leon serviced at Mersey Garages for over 3 years when he was living in Liverpool. They provided an excellent service, picked up the vehicle and left it back at his home, serviced, conducted MOT checks, carried out remedial work and issued MOT certificates. All at a very keen price. A great place and highly recommended.
Great job on BMW guys.
Had a booking last week for MOT and service on the BMW. I usually go to BMW Williams but they where cheaper than the main dealer and updated the online computer drive which not to many places can do I understand .
They came down and collected it from Crosby area which is good service.Got it back a few minutes later than they said they would but all in all great job. I saw some of the others reviews on here don't know what they are on about. Don't let the haters get you down. See you next year guys take it easy! Best wishes JB
I would truly give 0 stars
Would give 0 stars if I could. Avoid at all costs especially if you don’t know a lot about cars!
I took my car in on the Monday, with my clutch making a strange sound. Was told I would get a call once they had found the issue. I did not receive a call, so made contact myself. They came back and told me that my clutch pedal had completely snapped and they had to wait for a quote from their supplier. This rang some alarm bells, as I knew the clutch pedal was not completely snapped as I was able to drive it there! I did not hear back about the ‘quote’ until the afternoon of the next day (£845) and they tried to tell me that it wouldn’t drive as the pedal was snapped, and offered to arrange a tow service. I told them I would be collecting it, and low and behold the clutch pedal was not snapped and whilst I was still concerned what the noise was, I was able to drive it to a different garage. I don’t think that my car was even looked at, as a different garage was able to identify the noise and it was NOT the clutch.
Do not use!!! I wish I had seen the other negative reviews before taking my car there. Very upset that I still had to pay £99 despite suspecting that no one had even looked at my car!
Avoid - rip off
RAC insisted I took my car here after my breakdown, not knowing they charged over double compared to every other garage and more than even the main dealer for repairs.
When I took my car elsewhere they doubled the diagnosis fee from £50 to £99 with NO mention of this prior, which I had no choice but to pay to take my car back.
Absolute joke
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs, rip off company. Advised on the phone that mechanics don’t discuss your vehicle on the phone to liaise directly with servicing stop who of course said liaise directly with the garage. 4 hrs later still the garage have not returned the car and cat speak to the mechanic due to “data protection” ? Seriously I would urge you to avoid at all costs.
I can’t thank the team enough
I can’t thank the team enough! My car broke down and they kindly let me bring it in straight away. The repair was carried out quickly and to a really high standard — I’m so happy with the result. Honestly, it’s the best the car has driven since I bought it second-hand five years ago. The gearbox service has made a huge difference.
I’ll admit I was a little worried after seeing a few negative reviews, but my experience was completely positive from start to finish. Thank you so much for your help and great service!
If I could leave no stars I would
If I could leave no stars I would
Left my car with them for three days as the dash cam was causing my battery to drain
They had to do a diagnosis to come to this conclusion even though I explained that this may be the problem on dropping the car off
They came up with numerous excuses and lies to say why they needed to keep the car for so long (wed to Fri) say that the car was up on the ramps being “rewired”
They then told me that they were going to keep it til the mon even though they are open on sat to do the job as it would take 2 hours to complete
They never called to say what the progress was and the two girl receptionists are like a double act to see who can come up with the best lie
It cost me £99 for the diagnostic check and the fix was to pull the usb connection out of the camera
After reading the reviews which seems a thread with this company I wish I had read them before I wasted my time and money and having no car for three days
Stay well clear, you will regret it otherwise
Be warned !!
Review for Mersey Garages
Review for Mersey Garages
I’m very disappointed with the service I received from Mersey Garages. I left my car with them for 2 days, but they didn’t do any repairs at all. Instead, they charged me £100 as a “diagnosis fee,” yet they couldn’t even identify any issues.
I had already explained the problems with my car, but they ignored what I told them and did nothing to address it. On top of that, I was the only one chasing them for updates – they never once called me.
This experience has been a complete waste of my time and money. I would not recommend Mersey Garages to anyone looking for reliable and professional service.
Failed Repair
I meant to write this review a while ago, but life got a bit hectic. I had my MOT done at this garage, and unfortunately, the car failed. They informed me it needed repairs, gave me a quote, and I paid for the work to be carried out.
When the car was returned to me (as it was a mobile service), the battery was flat, so I couldn’t drive it straight away. Once I managed to get it jumpstarted, I quickly noticed that the repair hadn’t been done properly. The suspension was clearly off, and there was a loud, concerning noise — it was obvious something wasn’t right. I'm surprised the person who returned the car ‘didn’t notice’, especially given that it had just been through an MOT.
I called them back (They ended up saying it was due to a faulty part), and they did come out again to fix the issue, but the whole situation left me without a car for a week. Overall, I was very disappointed with the service. Looking back — and especially after reading other reviews — I wouldn’t have chosen this garage.
Hope this helps someone x

Just had timing belt water pump full service and MOTon my Mondeo as usual fantastic service from Andrew and the guys. Would’ve been nice to have car washed but I’m being picky. Honestly can’t recommend these guys enough thanks Billy Wilson
Excellent customer services
Excellent customer services, explained at length what was required. Nothing it too much to ask
AVOID – UNPROFESSIONAL AND MISLEADING
Mersey Garages are in partnership with Servicing Stop, and based on my experience, I would strongly advise staying away from both.
They carried out an MOT and full service on my vehicle, charged extra for the special oil, and then reported that the car had an oil leak. That raises a serious question: why would you carry out (and charge for) an oil service if you knew the oil was leaking and the issue wasn’t fixed first? That’s not servicing — that’s a cash grab.
On top of that, I was given a £1,450 quote for repairs needed to pass the MOT. I took the car to a trusted and reputable garage based on reviews for a second opinion, and they quoted no more than £550 (VAT included) for the same work. That kind of price difference speaks for itself.
To make matters worse, someone from the garage left their own car at my property, blocking my neighbour’s sidewalk, which led to a completely avoidable dispute. It was thoughtless, disrespectful, and incredibly unprofessional.
Between inflated costs, poor judgment, and careless behaviour, Mersey Garages are not to be trusted. Avoid them.
OMG do not use these guys
OMG do not use these guys, they were trying to charge me over a grand to fix my car for an MOT. I took it to another garage for a second opinion and they just said a bulb needed replacing. How dodgy is that? And they wouldn't drop my car back home after picking it up. Robbing aholes!
The garage I removed my van to said…
The garage I removed my van to said mersey garages will never have a place in heaven
I used them as they pick up and return for an Mot as my vehicle had been sorned
I got a call to say a long list of failures and repair price £1000 or more
I slept on it
Looked at reviews
And next day paid a recovery truck £80 to take it to another garage
Practically nothing wrong with it
Bulbs wipers and a small weld
Nothing wrong with brakes
£250 to fix so cheaper even with recovery truck
This is absolutely a genuine review and in getting away from mersey garages ive met some very decent people in the business
Totally hope no one else has the same experience with them. Shame on them
