5 star performance

what a company, weve been using mercury for a few years now and i would never go back . Lewis and his team are extremely knowledgeable , helpful and most importantly kind. In the past coming up with cheaper alternatives for our business that the ones we though we needed without compromising integrity.

Agreed for Mercury to do a takeover…

Agreed for Mercury to do a takeover visit. Paid over the normal annual service charge - the form stated ‘Total price’. Visit took over an hour but I wasn’t aware that was an issue. The Engineer did not make me aware of an additional invoice added into his report. He took several phone calls about other clients during the visit which added time. It appears they were unaware of a new law covering drip pricing. Maybe this will now change for future customers.

A great local alarm company

After nightmare experiences trying to get service from ADT Alarms ( to whom I was switched by Protect My Property), I changed to Mercury. To do this, I endured getting on for 5 hours on the phone at various time with ADT. They were, until, the end totally inefficient and lacking are.
The engineer from Mrrcury - a great chap named Lee - arrived on time, smiling and helpful. He did all the necessary work, explained everything in detail and did a great job. Well done Mercury Fire & Security Ltd.

Great Service

We are really happy with the service that Mercury provides, they always give good advice and quickly respond when we call them. The staff are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble and we are having more systems installed in the next few months. Would definitely recommend this company.

100% 1st class service

We have used Mercury for a number of years and provide a 5* service every time. They can never do too much to help ensure our company needs are met.
More recently, they provided an engineer with very little notice to fix a fault, to ensure our branch remained safe and secure.

Upgraded House alarm

Have been using this company for years and always arrive early / on time for annual maintenance. Today had an upgraded alarm fitting which went well. Paul was very professional sorting out the installation and walking me through the operation. Happy to recommend them to others.

We have been with Mercury for years

We have been with Mercury for years. They are always on time, fixes anything that goes wrong last minute and are very competitively priced. The guys that come out on call outs are friendly and better still - know what they are doing!
I would going anywhere else for my security needs.

Don’t use Mercury at Burton Joyce!

Had to call out due to alarm bell fault. Quoted a price for call out that doubled yes doubled when invoiced. We seem to having to pay for engineer not knowing what engineer code had been set by previous Mercury engineer. Then claimed other faults with system which were ok until Mercury attended, engineer basically said system needs to be completely changed then spent time checking what we had to organise quote.
Best not to use this company as appear to inflate charges and do not resolve issue other than to suggest a totally new system, what a surprise!!
Use this company at your peril

This was an out of hours callout to a non-maintained customer with an alarm not fitted by us. The alarm kept factory defaulting itself and took the engineer longer than expected to resolve the issue. We're genuinely sorry your experience wasn't very good.

Very poor alarm systems and customer…

Very poor alarm systems and customer service. We purchased our alarm in November 2014. We have had the alarm serviced annually for each of 7 years. We have had to call them out, on an additional 4 occasions for further work, in year, because they have either failed to carry out the service properly or faults have occurred. On the last two occasions we have made appointments for repair (again) in July and service in December. On both occasions they have contacted me, on the morning of the appointment and asked to reschedule, because the engineers were unwell. On the first occasion I agreed to reschedule and was very understanding. On the second occasion my husband had taken time off work, in order to discuss issues with the engineer. The company accepted no responsibility for, their failure, to send an engineer at the agreed time. There is obviously no contingency planning or consideration for any inconvenience caused to the customer, for their failings. I will take my business elsewhere.

Sorry to hear this. We have had a number of engineers let us down time and time again and understand (and share) your frustrations. It's a very difficult business balance. If we have spare capacity to pick up when engineers are ill we'll simply be paying for them to sit around and costs will rise. There's no easy answer but we've been working very hard to improve staff sickness rates.

Our records show that a wireless alarm was fitted in 2013 and the customer didn't take out a maintenance contract. The system was therefore not serviced and the batteries eventually went flat. Not being one of our maintained customers, the call out charge was slightly higher at £79 plus VAT. 5 x batteries were also required and charged for accordingly. Our engineer was on site for over an hour and the total cost was £186.60 inc VAT. Not completely unreasonable for a non-maintained customer having new batteries in all devices and over an hour of a skilled engineers' time. Unfortunately popping over when in the area isn't viable for any business trying to offer customers a good service. See our reviews on other platforms for many genuine reviews.
