My experience at my former high school was deeply disappointing, particularly in areas that should have been fundamental to a safe and supportive learning environment. One of the most serious issues was the lack of action taken against bullying and cyberbullying. Incidents were often ignored or inadequately addressed, leaving students to deal with the consequences on their own. This created an atmosphere where harmful behavior was able to continue without accountability.
Another concern was the condition and accessibility of basic facilities. Toilets were frequently locked, which caused unnecessary stress and discomfort for students throughout the day. This reflected a broader pattern of neglect when it came to student wellbeing.
Perhaps most troubling was the attitude of some teachers. Rather than fostering inclusivity and understanding, certain staff members were extremely harsh, particularly toward neurodivergent students. Instead of receiving the support they needed, these students were often treated unfairly, which made learning even more challenging.
Overall, the school failed to provide a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students. These issues significantly impacted both the educational experience and the wellbeing of those who attended.
