At this point just a scam.

At this point just a scam.
They leverage the amount of files, mostly illegal, hosted on their platform in roder to essentially ask for a ransom.
If you don't pay the max speed is 50kb/s or ALMOST TWO DAYS for a 1GB file.

Urgent Care sign in link connected me….

I went to Urgent Care and had to check in with a QR code. Next thing I know I am on Mediefyre’s website. Called the number to cancel and was disconnected each time. Used the chat feature to cancel, took screen printes and then cancelled my card. They had already charged my card which I had cancelled.

I have no complaints with expressvpn

I have no complaints with expressvpn. With it on I get up to 400 MB speed on my cell phone. I haven't used anything else that has come close to that speed. It blocks all my pop-ups. I believe it to be the best VPN in the market.
Express has worked flawlessly on my cell phone and my firestick.

Deletes your important files

One of the worst feelings is trying to access files you stored a couple of years ago and they just decided to delete it. Which storing service does that ?? Pictures, memories, important files. All deleted because they decided to. I don't care that they sent multiple emails, this wasn't my main email and I trusted that my files were stored safely with them. Don't use it.

We are sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it can be to lose important files. At MediaFire, we strive to provide reliable storage solutions, but we also have to balance this with maintaining system performance and security.

To clarify, our data retention policy (https://www.mediafire.com/policies/data_retention.php) is designed to ensure that active users have uninterrupted access to their files. For free accounts, we consider an account abandoned if it has been inactive for a period of eight months. During this time, we send multiple email notifications to the registered email address, prompting users to log in and prevent their account from being marked as abandoned. Unfortunately, if these emails go unnoticed, we proceed with the deletion to maintain system efficiency.

We acknowledge that not everyone checks their secondary or less frequently used email addresses regularly. However, it is a common practice among many storage services to remove inactive accounts to ensure optimal performance and security for all users.

Here are the key points of our policy for your reference:

• Free accounts are considered abandoned after eight months of inactivity - that means no log in, no file downloads, no account activity of any kind.
• We send at least two email notifications before taking any action.
• Simply logging into your free account once within eight months will prevent it from being marked as abandoned.
• Subscription accounts are never marked abandoned and can be used for long-term storage.

For comparison, other major storage services also implement similar policies to manage inactive accounts. This practice helps us allocate resources effectively and maintain a high level of service for active users.

We genuinely regret any inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your understanding. If you have any further concerns or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to our support team - in some cases we may still be able to recover your data even after your account is marked as abandoned.

We're very sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience with our ticketing system. I was able to find your tickets in our system - it appears that we replied to you the first ticket from Saturday 2/24 on Tuesday 2/27 and the second ticket was responded on the same day we received it. Perhaps it went to your spam folder or was otherwise filtered out? We sent over some more information to help troubleshoot the issue but we would also like to make sure that your subscription issue is resolved to your satisfaction as well. Our team will try to reach out to you another way to resolve the issue. Thank you for using MediaFire and again, our sincere apologies for the trouble.

Meglio Mega / Dropbox / google drive.
____

I had a MediaFire account open for about 10 years. Yesterday, out of the blue, I received an email stating that on February 28th, my account will be suspended, and I won't be able to access it anymore. They wrote to me claiming that I violated their Terms of Service. It's a shame because I only upload work files created by me without breaking any rules for years. Moreover, I hadn't uploaded any files for weeks. So, I opened a ticket as suggested by them to try to resolve the issue, and I received a response from someone named LaChandra without any explanation, simply copying the email I had already received. She didn't tell me what the problem was and informed me that my account has been permanently closed. This treatment is absurd, the service and assistance are terrible. I lost numerous important work files, and they don't even have the decency to help me understand and resolve the situation somehow. Never again. Better Mega / Dropbox / google drive.

Terrible customer service and overall experience.

Terrible customer service. Avoid buying pro! For 4 months now I have been trying to download the files I uploaded to my pro account only to be told that I have to download them in batches of under 2GB. I had errors each time I downloaded the folder that would say the zip folder is invalid when I tried to open it. They told me it is my internet connection. (I have tried the downloads on three different connections and the error persists). And made me do tests that were a total was of my time. I am a video producer and have several files on an important project that I just cannot complete. It would take me days or weeks even to download each one individually. It has cost me time, money, and stress.

I had to cancel my pro account and now I cannot even bulk download. They are not offering me any other solution other then making out as if it's my issue and not theirs. AVOID!!!!

DOWNLOADS FAIL EVERY TIME

Worst downlaod server ever. Why and how does Mediafire still exist??

So this company that sells digital products is using Mediafire as their download server. I've made numerous suggestions for them to use something else. I can't believe the download has failed 3 times on a high speed connection. Download gets to 2 minutes left after waiting a whole hour just for it to fail. This is pathetic.
