not road legal
In July 2020 I bought my first ever motorcycle from MCSyd. I was recently informed by an expert though, that the exhaust system is not road legal. On further inspection the exhaust system indeed says, with very small letters on the inside, ‘not for road use’. The mufflers and center muffler pipe are nicely made and nicely looking, but very, very loud and.... illegal. And since it is a customised system, doesn’t fit to anything else.
I wrote to MCSyd on 04/10 with a request to propose a solution, but got no reply. I wrote to them again on 14/10, again no reply. I called them on 16/10, but they couldn’t talk. I drove down there on 17/10, and got sent home with two mufflers from a different motorcycle and the advise to have something welded.
In the meantime they promised me to look into whether they could get a center muffler from the old owner. But after a week of waiting and no reply and no answering of my calls, I finally got hold of them again. Their reply is that they believe they have done enough to help me by giving me the two mufflers and they refuse to do any more!
But I am unhappy, as I have a motorcycle that is in fact illegal to drive on and I have an extra expense to get it all corrected. A company that won’t go the extra mile to fix their fault and help a customer, who otherwise would have bought there again and would have recommended their shop.
Unacceptable.
