Buying a car is supposed to be exciting… and mine certainly had a few unexpected plot twists along the way! 😄 Thankfully, Simon was there every step of the journey. We ran into a few challenges, but thanks to his professionalism, patience, and great communication, we worked through everything together.
Simon was always helpful, responsive, and genuinely committed to making sure everything was resolved properly. In the end, I drove away with a great car and a positive experience.
A big thank you to Simon and the whole Honda team in Peterborough. Highly recommended!

• Purchase experience: Good and smooth, but unremarkable.
• Vehicle presentation: Poor — Car delivered dirty with missing parts.
• Aftercare: Very poor — Communication failures, unanswered emails and inaccurate information.
• Overall: Cowboys (Yee‑haw!). If TrustPilot allowed 0 stars, this would be 0.
I rarely write reviews unless a business is exceptional or terrible, and unfortunately this experience falls firmly into the latter and I wish I was exaggerating.
The purchase process itself was fine, and the salesperson was pleasant enough. Nothing extraordinary but ok.
However once the car was home, the interior was dirty and far below showroom standards. The battery in one of the keys was also flat. Not catastrophic, but certainly not acceptable.
The bigger issue was the missing locking wheel nut. Multiple emails went unanswered, escalations were needed, and I eventually gave up and decided to buy one yourself. What made matters worse was the implication by them that I might have taken it, only for the main dealer to later confirm the wheel locks had been removed from the wheels and replaced with standard bolts, likely very recently as one bolt on each wheel looked new. I ended up having to buy a complete set from the main dealer. As well as my time wasted, this created a genuine security risk and raises serious questions about honesty and integrity of the showroom.
Further problems arose with de‑taxing my part‑exchange and refunding the holding deposit. The sales assistant went on holiday for three weeks without completing either task, and my emails to the Sales Manager and General Manager were left unanswered. Only when I escalated to the Head of Business, did Sales Manager call me within five minutes.
He was rude and dismissive during the call, and incorrectly stated de‑taxing had already been completed by Sales Assistant before his holiday and that DVLA records simply needed time to update. I was able to demonstrate that this was not the case, after which he de‑taxed the car without acknowledgment of the earlier let’s call it “misinformation”.
The Sales Manager also told me that the refund had been processed the day before but the pending refund transaction appeared on my bank statement minutes after the call. Maybe this was a coincident.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else goes wrong with the car.
Based on all of this, I would not return and cannot recommend Marshal Clitheroe to anyone. Even the minimum one star feels generous.
For anyone still choosing to buy from them:
• Treat all promises and everything they say cautiously.
• Check the car thoroughly before purchasing.
• Ensure de‑taxing and refunds etc are completed before you leave.

Joe & Toby both absolutely brilliant @ Cupra Oxford. Made my first EV purchase as easy as possible. Any time asked for a call back they where always responsive. They also only sold me what I wanted and didn't apply any pressure. A brilliant experience and was great for Joe to take the time to have a decent chat while picking the car up. Also wanted to thank Toby as he supported in ensuring I was able to purchase the car making the maths work. Thanks so much !

We bought our new Hyundai from Marshalls and our returning customers mainly due to the excellent service given by one of their salesman Richard Bishop. Willing professional and eager to please he made the experience like buying from a friend well done to Richard and thank you very much for all your help.
If anyone from Marshalls senior management is reading this in my opinion, people buy from people not companies and it’s not always based on Price alone.
Once again, thank you very much for your helping buying a new car.

I have concluded that Marshall Customer Service have a strategy for dealing with negative comments. They respond, looking like they care, asking for details so they can respond then they do nothing. That is certainly my experience. Anna at Customer Care- would you like to comment?

My Defender was recovered to Marshall Landrover and was fixed and returned within a week. Marshall Landrover kept me fully updated all through the process.
I would have preferred it not to have broken down but having Marshall Landrover Cheltenham & Gloucester “watching your back” in these circumstances is a great comfort

Terrible phone service, called 3 times and couldn't get through to anyone at VW Loughton.
What's the point of having a phone number if nobody picks up the phone!

I purchased a new Audi Q5 from Oxford Audi.
The vehicle developed a fault within weeks of purchase. The dealer investigated and informed me that I would have to wait 10+ months for the update, that may fix it, to be released by Audi.
There is an ongoing expectation that I continue to drive a ‘new’ car with daily warning lights on the dashboard for an indefinite period.
Oxford Audi have so far have failed to provide me with a refund despite selling me a faulty vehicle.
Customer service is non-existent.
I now await involvement from the Motor Ombudsmen and would advise no one to buy a car from Oxford Audi.

From the first enquiry to the collection of my new Discovery Commercial everything was smooth. We dealt with James Peutrell and he was fantastic. Nothing was a problem and the vehicle is amazing.
We will have no issue dealing with Marshall in the future.

Marshall Van Centre in Reading have looked after me and my T6 Kombi very well since I bought it as a used van 5 years ago. There's a closer centre to my home, but I will always come back here! The front-of-house service team of Amy and Becky look after you brilliantly - communication on how any service, MOT or repair work is progressing is always top notch.
Behind the scenes and on the spanners, Simon always does a top job, and his videos of the safety checks performed and any advisories are appreciated.
The Marshalls Reading team are a credit to the Marshall Motor Group and to VW. I won't take my van anywhere else.

I had a fantastic experience buying my new Audi from Audi Coulsdon. Steve was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free from start to finish. He kept me informed throughout, answered all my questions, and made sure I was completely happy with my purchase. I couldn't be happier with the service and would highly recommend Steve and the team to anyone looking for a new car. Thank you!

I purchased a 2022 Skoda Enyaq from Marshall Skoda Reading, only to later discover significant, latent defects that were never disclosed at the point of sale. The vehicle had undisclosed structural bumper damage and paintwork issues, which ultimately triggered a total parking sensor failure.
Rather than taking responsibility for selling a vehicle with pre-existing damage, Marshall Skoda Reading has completely rejected my claims and denied liability. I took the car to another main Skoda dealership and they found evidence the car had been in an accident and the bumper had been subsequently repaired.
Because Marshall Skoda Reading refused to resolve this fairly, I have been forced to escalate this dispute to Marshall Group Compliance and Skoda UK, and I am currently taking the case to the Motor Ombudsman.
I am incredibly disappointed by the lack of care, transparency, and basic customer service from this dealership.
I would strongly advise potential buyers to look elsewhere or exercise extreme caution before purchasing a vehicle from them.

Absolute scammers. Avoid them at all costs.
I should have known what kind of place this was when I was sitting in the showroom buying my car and had to listen to another customer openly complaining about a vehicle they’d just bought from them. Massive red flag.
This dealership doesn't give a toss about customer satisfaction or basic road safety—they are completely money-grabbing, obsessed with hitting their profit targets, and totally fine with doing half-assed jobs hoping you won't notice.
The state they handed this car over to me in is shocking. It came with a physically sliced tyre sidewall—which is incredibly dangerous—and their brilliant idea of prep work was to slather it in thick workshop tyre shine to hide the cut. The diamond-cut alloys are completely gouged and scuffed (despite them explicitly promising they’d refurbish them before I picked it up), and there’s a chip in the windscreen they didn't mention.
To make it even worse, he is now trying to blame me for not spotting their cover-up job during the handover inspection. They literally slathered the tyre in thick grease to hide a dangerous, sliced sidewall, and now he’s using the fact that I didn't catch their hidden trap on the day against me. It's an absolute joke.
When I caught them out and sent photos of the damage, the Head of Business. tried to completely mug me off and make it my problem. He actually claimed a sliced tyre meets "BMW standards," and instead of fixing it, he offered a pathetic, insulting amount of money that wouldn't even cover the cost of refurbishing a single wheel.
They are a completely dishonest outfit that relies on cutting corners and crossing their fingers. I've had to get my finance company involved to launch a formal safety dispute just to protect myself. Save yourself the massive headache and go literally anywhere else.
I have never in my life left a negative review for any business before, but I couldn't sit quiet on this. It's the absolute principle of the matter. They are acting with zero integrity, choosing to play games with people's road safety just to protect their own pockets. If you value your money and your safety, stay far away from this place.

Car was under manufactures warranty, had an issue, was fixed quickly and effectively by Volkswagen MK, had such a lovely team member - Alys - she always ensured I was kept updated and was so professional and helpful, she truly was amazing. Thank you Alys! And to the technician, James, for fixing my car. My air con is amazing, definitely needing it in this heat.

Sale of the car was great which was completed over a year ago however I was sold alloy wheel insurance which I did choose to take. MORE FOOL ME.
Buyer beware DO NOT TAKE THIS CAR CARE ALLOY INSURANCE out no matter how good the sales person makes it sound as i have just had a dealing with them and they are refusing to assist and repair the alloy wheel. Reason was corrosion was more than 30 days old which it definitely was not. Car gets hand washed at least every 2 weeks so i would have noticed this corrosion
Got wheel repaired for less then £80 and the repairer also agreed this corrosion was less than 30 days old as it was smooth to the touch it was only the lacquer that had came of the alloy.
This sounds like the get out clause for this insurance company at all cost.
if one person does not take this policy from reading this I will feel that my fee to this insurance company was worth the loss.

My car broke down, so I contacted Skoda Assistance as I have extended warranty through the All‑In plan. The assistance team were excellent — they sent a technician who was professional and helpful. When he couldn’t repair the fault on-site and confirmed the issue in his diagnostic system, he arranged recovery to Marshall Skoda Oxford and organised a hire car for me. Assistance even booked a taxi to take me to the dealership to collect it.
This is where everything went wrong.
When I arrived, the service advisor told me they had inspected my car but “couldn’t find any fault” and that “there were no fault codes,” claiming the breakdown technician must have erased them. I explained that I had photos of the fault codes taken directly from the diagnostic machine, but I was told this “didn’t help.” I was then informed I would be liable for a £176 diagnostic charge.
The General Manager became involved and suggested they keep the vehicle for a few days to see if the fault reappeared. I agreed and continued using the hire car.
Five days later, I received a call saying they still couldn’t find a fault after “around 100 miles” of driving. I challenged this, as my MySkoda app showed only 49 miles had been driven. I was then told I needed to return the hire car or I would incur charges. Skoda Mobility confirmed I had only 48 hours left before penalties applied.
I accessed the diagnostic log myself and discovered the dealership had recorded the fault codes during their own inspection — and they were the ones who cleared them, preventing the issue from being processed under warranty.
When I confronted the General Manager about being told there were “no codes,” he said it wasn’t a lie, just “misleading.” He then became defensive and told me I should collect my car and “never come back.” When I tried to discuss the situation reasonably, he dismissed me again, saying I “knew better than them” and should take the car elsewhere.
The customer service was dreadful — dismissive, defensive, and focused solely on ensuring they got paid rather than helping a customer. They were perfectly happy when I had the car serviced there twice, but the moment a warranty issue appeared, the attitude completely changed.
